I just booked Hyatt with ValueTrips. haven't heard back yet. They use Avanti shuttle service - $8 pp to airport & $9 pp to cruise port. Service to airport starts at 5 a.m. which works for us.
Looks like you can take a bus from FLL airport to hotel - so just may try this. we get in early enough. rather than hang around for a shuttle.
NJ
The airport to the hotel is 2 1/2 miles apart. The shuttle is very fast at picking up at the airport. He is stationed at the hotel unless he is bringing someone to the airport. Call him when your bags are coming out on the carousel and he will be there in about 10 min depending on traffic. If you are more than 2 people a Uber will be cheaper. We stay away from using cabs, some will try to rip you off and charge you like $50 for a short ride. We had it happen once and it was not pretty. We love Hyatt Place and only stay there.

And 100's of cruisers love this place for the free 2 drinks and the horrendous line in the morning for free breakfast. We had to book this place about 3 years ago, it was our last resort and will never stay there again.

We will stick with Hyatt Place.

We always call the hotel also to double check conformation. Never had an issue. Some dates are blacked out because they are not discounted.

Thank you! I’m wondering if the villas are the ones where bugs have been reported?
Villas are the bug problem rooms, we have been there a few times in the past 10 years and have never had a problem staying in the tower rooms. They are very modern and clean.

incorrect about the 8 floors, sorry - more like 13-14?
Both wrong it is actually 12 floors

Get a room in the Towers, stay away from the Harbor Villas, these are the 2 story rooms. The Harbor Villas get bad reviews on Trip Advisor, smelly, ect.

O.P. if you are thinking of staying at the Marina Hilton, do not get a Harbor Villa room. They are the ones on trip advisor that everyone complains about. Smelly, mildew. Get a tower room facing the port or the pool. These are very clean IMOP. This hotel only has about 8 floors.

Booked Hyatt Place for Sept. 21 & Oct. 13. Used ValueTrips for the 1st time. So far, so good.
The location sounds pretty convenient since we'll be there most of day on 13th.
Confirmation says cruise port shuttle is $6

Cruise shuttle is $ 9 P.P. We have used VT about 8 times now and love this location. The Harbor Shops is a short walk out the hotels side doors, walk south 1/4 block and then through the LA Fitness parking garage and you are there. Few places to eat at, and Publix to pick up things and Total Wine next door.

For 2 or less Avanti is a guarantee no hassle service. He is very quick to pick up, as it is only 2 1/2 miles from the airport. I would not recommend a taxi as they are known to over charge in Lauderdale. Had it happen to us just 1 year ago. We use Uber also and how much are really gonna save? few $, and the wait to pick up sometimes is just as long.

You put a towel on a chair then go to breakfast, then your towel becomes mine for the time i'm in the chair. Stupid question.

It is 1 of 2 hotels that are the closest to the port. Like 1/4 mile. It has a huge and beautiful pool in back with an outside bar. Doesn't get any better than this.

How many drinks do diamond get per day????

3 nights in Ft. Lauderdale I would stay in the 17th. street area like Hilton Marina that is on the intercoastal waterway. It is very close to everything and directly across from the port, if you get a higher floor facing the port. Its a very short Uber or Cab ride to the beach, 2 miles. Lots of places to eat within 1/2 mile. If you want a beachfront there are plenty of places to stay, 17th street turns and runs north along a nice stretch of beach.

Yeah that has not generally been my experience. I have a March cruise currently booked. I looked at it in May and booked in June. Since then it’s gone down $1850 since I looked, $1400 since I booked and added $100 OBC. I think it is very random much like SWA fares. When I have stuff booked, I check prices almost every morning with my coffee.
It is NOT A SALE price just for Labor Day. It is just not filling up as fast as the cruise line predicted and they keep lowering the price. The prices are controlled by algorithems, it is a billion dollar business for each sailing.

There are really no sales anymore. If you book way out1 to 1 1/2 years generally the cheaper the rates are. Sometimes if a ship does not fill up fast enough they will discount the rate.

What they said up above. 2 short blocks and you have several places to eat, ( DUFFYS 2 for 1 drinks all day every day ) and Publix. There is also a FREE shuttle that picks up in front of Publix about every 1/2 hour or so that takes you to the beach or downtown. Lauderdale Go, they have a live app to see where busses are any time. Service stops at 5.00 PM.

O.P. Avanti is very reliable. Call them when your bags are coming out and they will be there in 10-12 min. He sits at the hotel waiting to take passengers to the airport. It is about 2 miles away. Have used them every time we have been there (over 10 times ) never waited longer than 15 min. If there are more than 2 people , Uber will be cheaper. I would not use a taxi in Lauderdale, they do try to rip off older people.
-
It is a ride share buss service. Runs from Fort Lauderdale airport and many hotel locations in Fort Lauderdale to Port of Miami. Then from Port of Miami on return to Fort Lauderdale airport. $15 P.P. if you have 3 or more in your party it is $13 each way. They have a fleet of busses, we have used them a few times years ago. Lots of people like to hotel in Lauderdale than Miami.

49 miles to port Everglades, 70 miles to port of Miami.

This only goes back to April 1st. showing rates of 239 & 289 which is reasonable for Florida this time of year. May 1st is when the rates on the weekend really drop through summer. Next year does not usually get posted until around November.

Never used a storage company. We just go to nearest hotel and ask them to hold our luggage, never had a problem doing it. I tip them a $ 10.

Avanti shuttle is now charging $ 10 per person for there shuttle service to the Hotel from the airport, or to the airport from the hotel. It is starting to get a little expensive for any more than 2 people for a 10 min trip.
