  1. Gotch, thats not bad at all for march.
  2. $ 160 a night!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hyatt Place was $ 109 a night.
  3. We just used them for 4 days total pre and post cruise in May. Have used them about 8-10 times in the past and have (((( NEVER ))))) had a problem. Once you receive conformation from them, ( 3-7 days ) call the hotel directly to confirm they have it. You only pay the hotel one you stay and can cancel just about up to your date.
  4. https://www.ridesas.com/ You can use this shuttle service to and from Ft. Lauderdale hotels to the port of Miami for $15 per person. They have a list of the hotels in Ft. Lauderdale that they pick up from. This should be cheaper than an Uber.
  5. Hyatt Place hands down,( the 1 on SE 10th. behind E.S. ) been there over 10 times in the past 13 years. Was just there pre and post cruise in May. E.S. is a dump, and 1 moth ago Holiday Inn had no hot water, sever people complaining about it. Too bad you will not use valutrips for this hotel. We have every time and save $80- 100 off daily rate. You book though VT and pay at the hotel. You can cancel just about up to your date. VT takes no $$$ with the booking. Once confirmed you check with the hotel for your reservation. Easy Peasy.
  6. We have been t Hyatt Place on se10th.st. well over 10 times now. We love the hotel, location, places to eat within 1-3 blocks. 1/2 mile to the port, 2 miles from the airport. Never had a bad stay there.
  7. If I was planning another Princess cruise i would have to bring food onboard as their buffet was not very good 2 weeks ago on Emerald. Dining room was much better, but very slow.
  8. No need to be concerned about Hyatt Places shuttle service. They will accomodate as many passengers that sign up. We were just there 2 weeks ago pre and post cruise. It is $9 P.P. and you can have them pick you up at the port after your cruise also. They will take you to the hotel, or to the airport. We have been to this hotel 7-8 times now in the past 10 years. You will enjoy staying there as we do. If you arrive to the hotel early, they will get you into a room as soon as possible with NO extra charge. We arrived there on Sat May 18th. at 10;30 am and they had a room ready for us. If no room is ready they will hold your luggage until one is. The Harbor Shops are is less than 2 blocks walk and has many places for lunch.
  9. If flying into Fort Lauderdale and staying 1 night pre cruise, I suggest a hotel with airport pickup and shuttle to the port the following day. The airport and the port are less than 2 miles apart. There are lots of hotels around the airport and more closer to the port along 17th. street. Shuttles to the port are around $8-9, P.P.
  10. 8.00 AM was the first call after self debark, 1 week ago.
  11. They have inflatable car seats on amazon that will work. they roll up real small.
  12. Best hotel close to the port. Intercontinental.
  13. https://www.google.com/maps/place/1850+Eller+Dr,+Fort+Lauderdale,+FL+33316/@26.0896921,-80.1290769,15z/data=!4m15!1m8!3m7!1s0x88d9000acb53aa5b:0xb27ceb98027011f0!2s1850+Eller+Dr,+Fort+Lauderdale,+FL+33316!3b1!8m2!3d26.0816224!4d-80.1205692!16s%2Fg%2F11bw3_l97g!3m5!1s0x88d9000acb53aa5b:0xb27ceb98027011f0!8m2!3d26.0816224!4d-80.1205692!16s%2Fg%2F11bw3_l97g?entry=ttu
  14. Port Everglades to FLL is 2 miles. Taxi is about $15.
  15. Value Trips for April will be about $260 a night. You are not going to find much under $200 in April, prices drop May 1.
  16. We are staying this coming Sat, and Sun, at Hyatt Place for a Monday Cruise on Emerald Princess. No way in hell am I walking in 90 degrees heat 1/2 a mile to terminal 2 pulling a suit case to save $20. I walk 3 miles a day for exercise. If there was no luggage, then a walk would be just fine.
  17. January thru April 30, are high season$$$$$. May 1 thru November are much cheaper, but downtown Miami is still kinda $$$. Its a seasonal thing.
  18. Hyatt Place (se 10th st.) and Embassy Suites (17th st.) offer paring packages. We like Hyatt Place and will be there tomorrow night for 2 days pre cruise. Have been there many, many times. Call the hotels for more information.
  19. You can google port everglades port schedule within 2 weeks to see where ships are to be docked at.
  20. Thousands of people have booked Hyatt Place over the years through Value Trips. Like I said in another post, This is only the 2nd time I have ever heard of cancellations because of over booking. We have used them more than I can count over the last 10 years. In both cases the hotel either notified or place people in another hotel.
  21. Like I said above . We have be there countless times(7-8 Pre and Post) over the last 10 years and have only heard of this happening 1 time. Mistakes do happen and they did put them in another hotel. At least O.P. was notified. We have saved well over $2,000. using Value Trips Rate.
  22. Sorry to hear you lost your room. Had the wife call tonight just to confirm our 5/18, 5/19 5/30,5/31 stays a week from now pre and post cruise. I have only heard of this 1 other time back about 5 years ago. Someone posted that when they arrived at Hyatt Place they were told it was overbooked and H.P. put them up in another hotel. We have been there countless times and have never had a problem.
  23. Pre cruise in this order. 15th street fisheries, long walk or short uber ride. Boathouse, about 3 block walk. Southport Raw Bar, 3 block walk. Outback Steakhouse, 1/2 block walk. Duffy's Sports Bar,2 block walk out the east side door of hotel and thru the parking garage of LA Fitness,(short cut to Harbor Shops Area) 2 for 1 happy hour all day every day. Food is really good for sports bar. Few other small places in the harbor shops area.
  24. No such thing as TOO SOFT for an old guy with arthritis. I"m good with it. We love Royal Caribbean Oasis class ship, but I hate the brick hard bedding.
