I can relate with what you're saying. 14 out of my first 18 cruises were on Carnival and only 4 out of my last 17 have been on Carnival. As you can see from my signature, I have future sailings booked on the Enchanted Princess, Mardi Gras and Apex, all of them the newest from their respective lines. Will also be cruising on the newly refurbished Oasis when she cruises out of Bayonne for the first time this summer.
I can highly recommend the Celebrity Edge, which we were just on as well as the NCL Escape, which is the only ship I have sailed on 3 times.
Interesting. My husband always tells me to "go with what you know", so that's why we've done 14? Royal Caribbean cruises now. Habit. So it's probably good that I've been pushed out of the nest into Carnival, so I can step outside my comfort zone:-) I would LOVE to try Celebrity one of these days.

That's what I needed to hear! I see your signature line, so you'll do Carnival from now on? Would you ever go back to RCCL? I'm super curious to see how it all compares!

Stop reading reviews, seriously. They're the most off-putting things.
I haven't read or written a review in decades now.
Just GO. You'll have a great time. That's great advice. Thank you!

I'd second this recommendation. Regarding specialty dining, you can get a 3 night package for 60 pp instead of 68 consisting of 1 night in steakhouse and 2 nights in either Jiji's Asian, cucina del capitano italian or 15pp credit at bonsai sushi.
Such a helpful tip! Thank you.

that's an awesome boss you have, take the balcony. I mentioned this because people are talking about Havana on the Horizon which are quite pricey.
I showed the Havana to hubs, but he wasn't a fan. (I think the swing looks phenomenal). We love walking right out and looking down at the water from the railing. Soooo, I think we're gonna do Horizon balcony, do adjoining,
and hopefully we'll be able to remove the divider and share our balcony with our travel buddies:-)
A little off topic, but on Carnival do you need to book specialty restaurants ahead of time?

I wonder if his boss gave him a carte blanche on a spending limit, suites?
Not unlimited. no. But am I super grateful. SO excited. Plenty for a nice balcony cabin:-)

We loved Horizon!
Ah, I'm glad to hear this, as that's the one we're leaning towards.
What type of cabin did you have? Pros/cons?
Thank you!
-
Thank you. I was leaning towards Horizon, but it seems to get such mixed reviews.
But I sort of think how bad can it be? Built in 2018, must be pretty great.

Hello!
I have the best boss ever, and as highest salesperson last quarter, I was awarded
a gift card for a Carnival Cruise! I've only sailed Carnival once, and it was not a great experience
(we had fun, because: CRUISING:-) but the Sensation was a hot mess).
Anyway, we're looking to travel at the end of October/beginning of November. for 7-8 nights,
probably in Caribbean (somewhere warm~!)
I would love to know what ship you would recommend, what's your fav?
We will be two couples in our mid 50s, no kids. We usually eat at Specialty restaurants
so that's important to us. We're pretty laid back, and mostly will want to relax and chill.
Anyway, would love input, as I know next to nothing about Carnival. But I'm ready to learn!
Thanks so much,
Tammy

Well our plans for Nevis for tomorrow fell through, so now I’m desperately looking for a beach with facilities and food for us to hang out when we are in port tomorrow.
What would be your first choice? Mostly we just need umbrellas and chairs -and food:)
Thank you!!

Todd,
We are on the Vista right now. We arrived in St. Kitts without a plan. We are beach people. We read your post and we were sold on the Marriott. My husband and I had a blast there today. We thank you very much for your recommendation. Tomorrow we are in St. Martin, again we have no plans. My husband wants to know if you have any recommendations for beach sun and fun in St. Martin!! Please let us know. Thanks again for your help Todd.

Do you all know if there are any places that offer beach front massages in San Juan? We'll be staying at Isla Verde.
Thanks much!

Hey Tammy,
I see that you've received the answer you needed.
Just wanted to say Hi and to enjoy your cruise.
Hope you remember us from our Anthem cruise and the
great tour you organized with Dave's taxi tours in St John.

So good to hear from you !!! How was China??

A far cheaper option...just call Royal Caribbean's main number and say you need to contact someone on the ship. My parents did this last fall while we were on our honeymoon. We received a message on our stateroom phone that our parents were trying to reach us and to come to Guest Services where we would be provided a complimentary call home.
I like this option:-) THank you both for your help!

We'll be cruising this Sunday, and for the life of me, I can't find a way for people
to reach us onboard if necessary? (Aside from texting - isn't there a number
for them to call us on the ship?) We're sailing Jewel.
Thanks so much,
Tammy

The website for Paradise Point says it's right across from Cruise ship dock. Is that across from Havensight or Crown?
-
I was just on the Jan 21-28 Jewel sailing! Let me know if you have any questions I can (try) and answer for you!
What time were you able to board?
-
Tamtot, it is not a beach. I believe ( never been) a scenic lookout on top of a mountain. There is/ was a tram to the top with a bar and shop(?). For some reason I want to say great banana daiquiris.

Oh, I've not heard of this place. Can someone tell me more? Beautiful Beach?

There are 2 ports. Do you know which one for your ship? If not which ship are you on?
This was not my thread, but I am on the Jewel of the Seas in April. Do you know which port we'll be in? I'm trying to find a super close beach with chair rentals just to relax for the day.
Thank you!
