Just getting this roll-call started. We're taking this cruise with a group of cruise friends, as the first leg of a B2B out of NYC/Manhattan.

This will be the first cruise departing from NYC for my wife and I, who have taken 15 previous cruises, all Caribbean, departing from various Florida ports.

Looking forward to hearing from, and getting to know others who are on this sailing, particularly those who have sailed from NYC in the past.

    Hi all,

My wife and I are doing this cruise as the first leg of a b2b as well. This our first b2b and first cruise out of NYC. We are also on the Facebook group. Thanks for having us.

Question on the Australian ETA app...

Nowhere can I find if seflies are allowed while enrolling in the ETA.  Everything I see just says take a photo, assuming someone else is taking your photo.  When I google the specific topic, it says NO SELFIES are accepted. However, the Australian official website doesn't go into whether or not selfies are actually allowed.

Has anyone taken a selfie and already arrived in Australia by doing so?  Any problems?

When applying you can either take a selfie or have some one take a picture using your phone. The process is very easy and I got my approval in less than 10 minutes.

  3. We lucked out and got flights for around $500 per person. I checked every day till it hit the price I felt was lowest. All flights out of PDX seem fairly ridiculous. It's cheaper to fly to Hawaii then to Minnesota to see my family. One thing we will sometimes do is include Seattle in our searches. If we do a Seattle flight, we rent a car one to and from Seattle. It's usually cheaper than the difference in fares and we go up early to play a little before the flight.

Oh if you check everyday for prices be sure to clear your browser history and cookies or if you use chrome search in the incognito tab.

    Good luck.

  4. I'm lucky? :')

What I have always done (whether on the ship or on land)...I take a certain amount (maybe $40...2 twenties or $60). If at any time I double or get close to doubling that $20 I put in, I cash out and put it away and do not use it. I stick to the preset amount always, even if I'm on a roll or a machine is doing good (because let's be honest, when it's doing good, it makes you want to keep going because you think you are going to hit even bigger...only it will take it all away quickly). :D

On the ship, I never touch those winnings again and gather them throughout the cruise and at the end, hopefully I'll at least have what I came with and had a good time and fun playing during the cruise, or I'll have more than what I came with. I think there have only been 2 ships that I just couldn't win at any of them.

I find the machine that seems to be hitting during the cruise and it's usually my "go-to" machine when I'm not doing well.

We always do the same thing. I just wanted to say thanks for all the in depth reviews Kim. You are my cruise Wikipedia. Great reading and beautiful pictures.

  5. The first cruise we took our son was 6. At dinner he ordered a banana split for dessert. He stopped eating it half way through. When I asked if something was wrong with it. He said "No I am just saving room for the ice cream on the lido deck."
