Smuckers sandwiches might be an idea too. They are individually packed. Pick some up before embarkation.

So it's an island like the cruise lines private island not a dock to a bigger island that you can wander away from and explore?

Yes like a private island but you pay for food and drinks. Ncl offers some excursions booked through ship only.

If you got stuck in a port and missed the ship, the passport in your safe will do no good. I would bring it if it were me.

We have decided to do Victor bodden. Going to add on monkeys, snorkeling and beach club so we can walk down and do some snorkeling from the beach too.

I'm struggling with a decision for this port. We want awesome snorkeling with lots of fish but tabyana seems to crowded for us. Here are my 3 thoughts...
1. Victor Borden...monkeys, snorkeling tour, scenic drive, and beach club.
2. Catamaran sail and snorkel.
3. Maya key
4. Paradise beach club and walk down to the reef. Is it far?
Any thoughts and advice would be great!

Looking at doing the gumbalimba Park and Tabyana Beach tour vis NCL with the family. This seems like lots of fun and some good beach time too.
The question, we want to do a dolphin day as well, and it seems the dolphin encounter here is the better one on the itinerary we are on (vs cozumel etc...). I read one review say that they had to carry the 6.5 year old due to deeper water.
Which would you do, and are the other dolphin encounters better?
2 adults and 6 year old.
D
Chaunkanab is my favorite spot on cozumel. I did the dolphin swim a few years ago. It was great. The whole park is great. Much cheaper if you don't book it through the cruise line.

I'm thinking Cagney's is a must after all the great reviews I've read but I'm thinking about moderno and tepyanaki too. I don't see them mentioned as much. Fussy me just ate at a Japanese steak house last week for a business meeting and I loved it. I'd love to hear about those two restaurants. Moderno seems interesting. I am a carnivore and love the idea of a variety of meats. Thank you!

So here are a few pics.
I had the Harmony flowers delivered for my wife. They were beautiful and lasted the whole week and they could have gone longer too.
Our room steward even used my glasses for our towel pets. Here is one:
The Dale' drink I mentioned. You got to try these if you like tropical drinks!
Day 1 was cool and a bit of a drizzle, so sale away was moved in doors to the atrium. It was weird sailing out of Miami and the beach looking dead.
However day 2, our first sea day was beautiful. We spent most the day soaking up some sun and catching up on sleep. We also played mini-golf and tried out the water slides. They were fun and the lines weren't bad.
That night we went to the Tropicana and had steak and fries and the lava cake.
After dinner we went to Burn the Floor and then explored the ship a bit more before heading in for the night for our arrival in Honduras the next day.
That drink looks tasty. What is in it?

Well, I'm about to go on my 2nd cruise but one thing I like is they charge an arm and a leg for WiFi. Yes I love that because I'm a miser and I'm looking forward to a whole week of no cell phones, social media, and being with family and everyone's faces are looking at their phones. I love everything else about a cruise also. Food, fun people, fruity drinks, relaxing, music etc etc

I'm greedy! I want the best snorkeling, fruity cocktails, great food with american choices, and sandy clean beach without a long drive. I want a great massage too. So many beach clubs to choose from. I would love to parasail also but have not found any options. Can't wait to hear from those who love Costa Maya cruise port.
