Yes on a negative Covid test taken within 72 hrs of embark. However, keep an eye out because Carniva Cruise Line (so not Carnival Corp yet) just dropped the neg Covid test requirement! My money is on HAL following that in the near future
Thanks again. One more thing. Do you know of a convenient place in Boston to get the testing. We're flying in from Charlotte NC on Sept. 9 2022 for a back to back.. Thank you.

There is on the other ships! Will confirm for you tomorrow
Thank you. Also, since this cruise goes to Canada are we still required to submit a Covid test prior to Boarding? Thanks again.

@hotzejthere isn't a hot tub on the balcony of the R and S class ships. Only the newer classes. At least there wasn't on the old Ryndam and Statendam when we stayed in the Pinnacle Suite.
Thank you. I didn't think so, but HAL's own site is stating there is one in their description.

Can anyone tell me if they have a whirlpool on the balcony of the Pinnacle Suite (7001). Thank you.

ok we tested negative so we are on our way in the morning. Hope John is negative soon for his Birthday celebration

OK I hear you figured us out. We sure hope to see you soon?
Actually, when I asked you about where to get the tests it was for another cruise we scheduled when we could not do this one, but you are right, we are on our way Sunday

Thanks for your review, we will be on Rotterdam in April. Amber Cove is not a planned stop for us at this time, but hopefully someday we can visit.
We're not fans of Grand Turk either. We might grab a beer at the Beached Whale but probably won't spend much time on shore. My impression from January 2020 was that they never fully recovered after the 2017 Hurricanes. I was never there before so not really sure what it was like.

We are currently on the Edge for first leg of a B2B. Cruise Director told us there are 1,083 passengers and no children under the age of 12 on this 8/28 sailing. There are no unvaccinated passengers. She said it was a first for them. Concierge has told us that the Suites are fully booked. Next week’s 9/4 sailing they are expecting less passengers.
We are on the 9/4 sailing. Would you please tell us who the Cruise Director is. Sounds like we will almost have the ship to ourselves.

I would think, depending on the world situation, that some if, not all of China may be eliminated.

I hope he's hit the ground running. He has much to do. Good luck Mr. Antorcha.

Marty/Gail,
We might consider others in the Carnival group if they at least provided our laundry perk. Seabourn gives you just about everything else. If we had laundry also we might consider them. Stay healthy. Bill

We think it's a great idea. If I'm going to get cabin fever, I'd rather to it in a cabin on a cruise. Hope you are both well.

We also visited Normandy on the 2019 World Cruise. We would love to return at least one more time.

Please return the Grand World Voyage back to the "Grand" World Voyage once again.

Hey...They have to leave something for us old folks. To sit down and enjoy are nightly cocktails. Jane and I were not very impressed with the Nieuw Statemdam. We're scheduled on it again in Aug to the Fijords etc, but, doubt it will go. You and Barb stay healthy.

Thanks for the info. I much prefer the old Crows Nest. I was on the Nieuw Statendam last fall and didn't like the set up at all. They have the Explorations area. Very techy...and very empty.
-
I'm looking for info regarding the config of the Zaandam. Does it still have the original Crows Nest? Has Mix been transformed into Music Walk? Thank you.

did you miss us at the buffet of green lipped mussels? We missed you all

never even thought to ask you, we left ours behind as well. I was hoping the ship would kindly ship them, but apparently no such luck! Oh well! If I can't find replacement knives, it will make a great Christmas conversation when I give the cheese plates to my girls. My fault

We made it home safely and enjoyed our first BBQ. Missing you both, thanks for the great memories...

Most likely down for maintenance and additions. Hang in there. :D:D:):):):)

I recall reading, at some point, that guests who have sailed on a previous Grand Voyage are eligible for additional savings on future Grand Voyages. Is this true, or am I confusing it with another line?
If such savings do exist on HAL, approximately what kind of savings is it? Minimal? Significant? Rough estimates and educated guesses welcome:)
we have been on two world cruises and on the second we did receive a dollar amount off our second W C as we had been on a previous grand voyage. I just can;t remember the $ amt, I want to say $500 but can't say for sure.

does anyone know if the Westerdam has outlets for plugs at the bedside or only at the desk. My husband uses a C-PAP machine and we need to know whether we need to bring extension cords to stretch from desk to bedside. Thanks for your help.
