  1. It's such a shame that OP is unaware of optional dress codes on Informal nights.

On Informal nights, passengers may dress casual at the following restaurants - La Terrazza, Kaiseki, Seishin, and Silver Note.

Dress code is always casual in Hot Rocks and Spaccanapolli.

    Just quit complaining.

You knew what dress codes were when you booked the cruise.

This is what makes Silversea different (better) than the competition.

Fort Myers.  I hope you guys are ok.  If there Ian must have been hell.

    Hi everyone,

    Yes we are fine.

We lived in Cape Coral for 25 years in a water front home.

5 years ago we decided to move inland to get away from hurricane issues.

    We made a good decision.

We now live in a gated community in Estero on the East side of Interstate 75.

Hurricane Ian was a major wind event.

Major damage to bushes, trees, etc.

No damage to house except for several missing roof ridge caps.

    We never lost power.

Water was out for 2 days (still under boil water notice).

Cable and internet was out for 2 days.

Cell service was out for 4 days.

Everything is slowly returning to normal.

    Thanks for thinking about us.

  3. I have also wanted to use Silversea Shore Baggage Valet to ship luggage from home directly to the ship.

I was told by Silversea to contact valet@silversea.com for additional information.

I sent an email almost 3 months ago and never received a response.

I called silversea and was told the email valet@silversea.com was to only way to make arrangements for luggage shipping.

I am wondering if silversea still will handle luggage shipping.

Has anyone shipping luggage with Silversea recently???

  4. We have never cruised during the Christmas & New Years Holidays until now.

We have the Christmas cruise and the New Years cruise booked on the Silver Dawn in Dec 2022.

It looks like the ship could be close to capacity for the Christmas cruise and is completely WAITLISTED for the New Years cruise.

We anticipate reservations for some of the restaurants MAY be difficult to secure unless we make the reservations as soon as available.

Currently debating on which restaurants would be best for the evening meal for the following days:

    Christmas Eve

    Christmas Day

    New Years Eve

    New Years Day

Does Silversea do special menus during the holidays?  Which restaurants?

Any recommendations from someone with Silversea cruise experience on these holidays would be appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Bob & Terry

  5. New information according to www.cruiseindustrynews.com

    WC 2025

    Silver Dawn

    136 days

    Tokyo to New York.

  6. Even with the changes, we are still going.

Considered cancelling but decided to go ahead with cruise.

We have had this cruise planned for a long time.

FEDEX already picked up luggage today for shipping to Fort Lauderdale.

We already have the rest of 2022 and most of 2023 already booked.

Even with the changes we are still looking forward to the cruise.

HOPEFULLY we will see at least some of you on board.

    Safe Travels.

    Which menu did you have?

It should be the same show.   Scott posted pictures of his meal from Equinox and looks to be same as the show for days 1-4.   They have the original Lobster and Steak on the other nights.

Our shoreside Retreat Suite Concierge sent us the 3 menus for Le Petit Chef.

Just received our policy, and it excludes "epidemic" issues with no rider language overriding that to INCLUDE CoVID coverage.

I also just received our policy.  At the end of the policy there is a section of OUR policy entitled "Epidemic Coverage Endorsement" which specifically states that coverage is included.

"You or a traveling companion becomes ill or injured, or develops a medical condition (including being diagnosed with an epidemic or pandemic disease such as COVID-19)..."

Suggest investigating your policy to confirm it includes this endorsement.

  9. In Fort Lauderdale on the day of sailing we have found it difficult to find a van type vehicle from the taxi companies.  On one occasion we had preordered a taxi van for ride from hotel to port.  Waited more than an hour.  Was told vans were in short supply at hotels.  Vans mostly tied up picking up passengers at port.

Next time we used Uber.  No problem.
