  1. Dropping off a car at Hertz, need to get to the ship. I'm aware of busses, but sounds like a switch from city bus to port bus is required. Anyone know about a local taxi or shuttle option, door to door? The other option (less optimal) is to drop the car at FICO and Rome Cabs to the ship.
  2. Just booked our first TA and are BIG fans of the retreat Cabanas. Anyone with suggestions/thoughts on weather/suitability on the crossing (October 31 - November 13). There were days on the Southern Carribean/Panama Canal that the winds were pretty brutal, but it was alway warm enough. Wondering about winds and temps during the crossing. Thanks.
  3. Actually, Boca was the closest place I could find a Hilton, for points. But it looked to be about a $40 Uber ride, to and from, and getting away from FLL seemed a better idea. In retrospect it could have worked, but I'm good with what we have planned. Thanks.
  4. Just handling our luggage out of the rental, dragging it to the curb, meeting the Uber driver at the Hertz location (they don't always make it easy to be picked up there).... not insurmountable, just an observation.
  5. That's an option, and high on the list. Never quite sure if the rental cars will deliver the service they promise, especially big event day. I was quite surprised when someone told me Hertz would drop you at the ship. You had experience with that?
  6. Missed a key point in booking Feb 2, 2020, out of FLL..... SUPER BOWL. Ugh. NO problem getting flights the day before but no hotels (at least for under $4~500, so switched the Southwest tickets to RSW. This works as we can have dinner and see good friends. Lots of options, just want to make sure I'm not missing anything. I can do a Hertz one-way, with points, RSW to FLL. Only downside is having to Uber from Hertz to Port Everglades. Some shuttle services from Naples (gas station??) to FLL, then Uber to port. Anybody else done the west coast to the pier option? Uber option is $150 or so, which may be our best option. At least it would be hotel to pier. A little concerned with finding someone that morning that would want to make the trip. Thanks.
  7. I'm struggling to find FlightEase, even though we've booked.....
  8. Sorry, I am overwhelmed reading this, and SOOOO excited. We're taking six on December 16, on the Zuiderdam, and were looking at wine packages, but knowing Total Wine is close to ES (where we're staying), we'll probably make a late night trip there. So, what is the corkage fee (for over the one bottle per person)? We recently rode brand RCI and the gal at the dining room asked if we brought the wine on or if someone gave it to us. We laughed and said it was a gift (from ourselves) and they didn't charge us a corkage fee. Front desk told us $35 per bottle, wine lady told us $10. Ugh.
  9. We're doing the Zuiderdam, southern Caribbean, 10 days. We did the same itinerary on the Koningsdam in January, and enjoyed the length and the itinerary. My wife's always wanted to do a holiday cruise, so this one works.
  10. WOW, thanks for the write-in tip. We, for a number of reasons, didn't cruise HAL out last cruise and we sured missed a lot of things. Sooooo looking forward to better room service, more options, etc., come December 16!
  11. Thanks, missed it on our recent Royal Car.....
  12. Fifty days until we leave on the Zuiderdam.... any recent cruisers able to verify if they still have the Eggs Benedict station?
