  1. Thank you for all the info. We were going to drive but after reading these responses I think we are going to rent a van and driver to get us there and back - less hassle I think. And I am going to get a britta bottle for water and throw a 12 pack of soda in my suitcase - problem solved! Thanks again!

  2. What is the best way for us to get a case of water and a case of soda onto the Dawn? We are parking at the terminal in Boston so I assume we will be wheeling our luggage to the ship ourselves. Are there carts or dollies in the parking area that we can use to transport the water and soda? I can't see my daughter and I trying to manage our luggage, carry-on bag AND cases of water and soda from the parking garage to the ship! Any help would be appreciated

  3. We are cruising to Bermuda May 23 in cabin 10692 (toward the back of the ship almost below the spa). We have booked a balcony cabin and were wondering if we could ask to have the regular chairs exchanged for loungers? Will loungers fit in that balcony?

We are going through a travel agent and am starting to write down the things we would like him to arrange for us prior to our arrival on the ship. So far I have:

The loungers instead of chairs if possible

Empty the mini fridge - we are bringing water and soda

turn the queen bed into 2 twins

    Any other tips/suggestions?

  4. My daughter would like to try snorkelling while we are in Bermuda but neither of us are great swimmers. I heard that Horseshoe bay can be rough for newbies. But our cruise ship NCL Dawn, is offering a package at Snorkel Bay Beach that includes snorklel gear, paddle boats, chair rentals, and a few other things for about $44 and I've heard that thae beach there is a little calmer. But I've also read that it's not a "nice" beach. We are going 5/23-30. I'm just wondering if this might be something that would work for us. I really want to see the pink sand but I figure I can always take a bus to Horseshoe bay and walk along that beach. Thanks!

  5. Hi all, we are booked on the Dawn May 23rd sailing. As it gets closer to the time that our final payment is due, I'm getting nervous about the cost. Does anyone have any ideas about discounts that might be available? Someone mentioned AARP and I am a member so should I call NCL and ask about a discount? Any other ideas to save a bit of money? We aren't planning on doing any pricey excursions and we don't really drink but any little bit helps - especially since my DD is getting married this year also! It's going to be a great year!

  6. Thank you all for your responses. I am sailing the Norwegian Dawn on May 23rd. I think I'm going to amend the recommended itinerary so that on day 3 we are the closest to the ship - would be paranoid otherwise LOL! So it looks like we might go to the aquarium and zoo on the Sunday(day 1),

do St George early AM day 2 and explore Hamilton later in the day 2 and then do the beach on the last day in port. I do have to get some info on the actual places and things to see. But thank you all again and keep the suggestions coming!

  7. I am a planner. I NEED to plan my vacations thoroughly. My 23 yr old daughter and I are cruising to Bermuda late May on the Norwegian Dawn. I have perused this entire board, every Bermuda site known to man and for some reason am still very confused about what to do once the ship docks - how to get around to the different towns, how to get to the beach, etc.

We are not big history buffs. We enjoy shopping, would like to do the perfumery, caves and aquarium, would enjoy the St. George dunking and plan to spend a half a day at one of the beaches doing some very amateurish snorkelling. Would like to have lunch at the Swizzle Inn or Frog and Onion.

Can someone help us plan our time in Bermuda? I would be willing to consider a private cab tour if that would be easiest but i'm not sure how that works with shopping and lunch and all that.

Also, is there a web site that can give me pricing on admission to the attractions such as the aquarium and crystal caves?

I don't know why I'm so confused about all this - I've planned every trip to WDW with utmost precision for 2 - 10 people!

    Thank you!!!!
