I asked my DD, now 21 yrs, what she did on the cruise when she was 17.
She went to the kids club and met many other 17 year olds. Also, the hot tubs in the evenings were loaded with 16-20 yr olds.
Also, it is soooo important to go to the club the first night!

I was on the Indy this past March and the doors are metal

It sounds like you are doing everything correctly. Unfortunately, your cruise has not had a price drop. Not every cruise does.

Thank you for posting; interesting article :)

There is a morning tai chi exercise session out on deck.
There are lectures and historical films.
There is also some traditional Chinese entertainment by the crew.
Thank you!

I am looking at booking oct 2014. Are there activities on board the Emerald while river cruising? For instance, a tai chi class or history class?

I was on the Oasis about 2 yrs ago. No ginger beer and no Goslings. The bartender substituted what he had.........

thank you. we will be on Brilliance. I don't think it has freestyle. my DH loves Fanta orange. am surprised it isn't available and sprite is:confused:
IMHO, sprite is much much more popular than Fanta orange in the States.

This is correct

I went with Vantage to Russia last year. They used real keys. When you left the ship, you handed the keys to reception and when you returned, you picked up your keys. This was how the ship knew who was on the boat and who wasn't. Also, no one loses their key!

You won't believe what I had to do.... I had to push my own elevator buttons. Imagine that people, I was on a 14 day cruise and pushed my own BUTTONS. How will the cruising industry survive all these cutbacks??? What next, will we need to cook our own food, mix our own drinks at the bars (actually, this would be nice :):) )
My last cruise, when I went into the elevator, all the buttons were pushed. Didn't have to do a thing.

Sorrento's is closer to Chicago style in that you don't have fold it and eat it like a grilled cheese sandwich as the NY style requires.
Just for the record, you don't fold NY pizza in half to eat it. Bend the end crust in a 45 degree angle and the pizza slice now looks like the letter "V". Start by eating the pointed end. :D

SPacificbound, if you do go on one of the small boats in the Peruvian Amazon, please let us know how it was. This trip is moving up on our list!
Please let us know!! Sounds amazing :)

I just returned from 12 days in Turkey. I used Euphrates Tours; they are based in Capadoccia. They did a great job and I would definitely recommend. Let me know if you have any questions.

I liked Vantage

In Sultanahmet, where the historic sites are, there are mostly boutique style hotels. Do a search on Trip Advisor. I am going to Turkey for 2weeks and will be back on 6/8/13. I can let you know how the hotel was where I stayed. :)

Champagne is wine. Enjoy!

If we have the Classic Drink package (beer $5 or less, liquor and wine $8 or less) and we order a cocktail or glass of wine that is more than the previously mentioned, do we just pay the difference? How does that work?
You have to pay the full price

I always use the the safe and have never had a problem.....unless you count when I almost left my stuff in the safe at the end of the cruise
