  1. Thanks Ellen.

I like that the suite is now given more OBC, and I hope that "suite" means JS or better.

I also noticed that there's no more OBC for 3/4 day cruises.

It would be great if the new amounts are retroactive to cruises already got booked.

What I read is the same $350 cabin discount for Diamond plus and Pinnacle, plus $150 OBC which totals the same $500 combined discount as before. That hasn't changed, in my opinion. What has changed are the future cruise credits. I don't know why this company is putting greed in front of loyalty but it's always the bottom line that gets looked at.

  2. No, they're not giving the friends & family certificates out anymore. Not after mid March of last year.

I still have one left, and hopefully we may be able to use it this fall with our close friends. :)

It's time to be aware that RCCL has lowered the benefit of the future cruise credits as of March 14th. This is no way to reward those of us who are loyal to Royal. From now on, or until enough of us complain, the future cruise bookings will be worth half those purchased before March 14th. That is the end of my future bookings of these credits. This came from the highest sources at RCCL.

  3. This is Sovereign in December 2013 as we pulled in to Salvador De Bahia, Brazil on Splendour of the Seas:)

Unfortunately we never got to sail on Sovereign in Royal colours.

I was fortunate to sail on the Sovereign twice in the late 80's. I am pretty sure I saw it October 2012 when we boarded a transatlantic on the Liberty out of Barcelona. What a nice memory I had of that ship and happy the Majesty is still cruising. I'm on that one tomorrow, Monday.

  4. Well, now this RCI newbie is going to have to look into the benefits of getting a gold card. I'm assuming it's the color of the Seapass (or whatever RCI calls it) card that gives you extra perks because you're in a suite?

I'm not willing to pay extra for the JS but it's nice to know we'd get double points if we did get a free upgrade, even though it wouldn't make a difference for us for a long, long, time, if ever.

You don't get a gold card in a junior suite; only double points. Grand Suites and higher get the gold cards.
