  1. Well Life sure adds twist and turns.  DH has been sick for the last 3 days.  We fly tomorrow and sail Monday.  He has the Flu! Nothing more but I am sorry but men don't do sick!  I  hate leaving him home but it may come to that.  I was willing to cruise solo to begin with and now it may be just that!  😕😢

  2. What!  I never had to get a ticket for YTD!  Is this new?  We just went to the dining room when we were hungry and it only took 5 minutes to be seated.  Please will someone clarify as my hubby doesn't like anything different.

Good Morning everyone.  I will be sailing on the Victory on February 10 and I am getting excited of course.  I am looking for anyone who has recent pictures of the Funtimes for this ship.  The itinerary is Key West, Cozumel and Sea Day.  Any help would be appreciated.  Also if you know do they do the St Judes Bears on this ship.  I have sailed longer cruises that have it but not been on a shorter cruise for a while. I know this is making the same message twice but I just want get this to have a bit of attention.

  4. Please, if anyone here has been on the Carnival Victory doing Key West Cozumel itinerary can you please copy the fun-times and post here.  I leave in less than 2 weeks and DH is not into a lot of events but I am.  I would like to set my cruise days with all the best things to do.  Also I want to do the Cruise for ST Judes and would love to know when that is.

I can’t wait for the chance to do a solo. When I was younger I did two where I may as well have been solo since they were myself and my then 17/18-year-old son. He ran off to the teen club as soon as we boarded and I didn’t really see him much until we disembarked.

I thoroughly enjoyed those cruises. As others have said keeping to your own schedule is wonderful. It also really gave me the opportunity to meet a lot of great people and have a lot of wonderful conversations.

On my most recent cruise there was a lot of solos on the cruise critic roll call that I would have loved to of been able to meet and get to know, but since I was on a large family trip but I wasn’t able to do that.   I’m hoping to snag a last minute cruise this spring when the low price makes the single supplement palatable.

Thank you everyone for the words of encouragement.  Yesterday my DH came to me and asked if it was possible to include him on the cruise!  Oh my I was glad to hear this and was on the phone with CCL and Had him in the cabin before he could change his mind.  We are both going!  I am still considering a solo cruise but now will be watching to see if there is ever ever a discount for solos on CCl in the future.

  7. To begin I am married.  My husband has decided he doesn't wish to cruise anymore.  I am taking my first solo cruise and paying for it for sure!  But we are getting older and I want to know that it is something I can do.  Any suggestions for cruising alone? I am in my 60's so I just want kind words here.  I have traveled alone on and off for years to visit friends in UK so I navigate well, lol.  Just looking for a few suggestions.

  8. I will be sailing on the Conquest in December 2018. I have never sailed when the ships are decorated for Christmas. I am so looking forward to it.:p Could those traveling on the Carnival ships this Christmas please post pictures? I love Christmas do they do ugly Christmas shirt contest? Do they do Christmas caroling events? I would like to plan for fun even at the age of 65.:halo:

  9. Yes it will fit. We have put all of our suitcases under the bed, even the large ones with no problems. My carry on is a 14" high hard sided case and it fit just fine. I fit everything for a week in that plus a carry on tote.

Thank you so much.. I am glad there are still nice people here. I have avoided posting here as a lot of hate mongers hanging about. My last post was blasted to pieces and that was over a year ago.

  10. My newest suitcase is 12 inches deep. I have always been able to slide my soft side bags under the bed but this is one of the lightweight harder sides. Does anyone know if it will fit? I'd hate to take up closet space if I can put the bags under the bed. Thanks in advance for any assistance.

  11. I have decorated my door on cruises for the last 3 cruises now the guidelines make it impossible to create the designs I used to. Do they allow window clings? They say nothing about being flame retardant. I love showing my individuality! Any help would be greatly appreciated!

  12. My travel companion says she's read that the dining on the Elation is getting a lot of bad reviews. I really don't take much stock in things like this but she had quite a few restrictions in her diet so I wanted to clear this up if possible. Who has been on the Elation in the last few months? Was the food good? Anyone have a copy of the menus for the 5 day cruise that would be terrific. We sail in January. Thank you in advance for any information!

  13. What port ?

Yes I should have been a bit clearer, I was watching the Tribe game so forgive me. Jax is the port and the hotel is Springhill Suites Airport. I have been to Jacksonville before and I know weekday traffic is a real pain. I wanted to veer away from taxi service but will still leave the option open if the fares are set fares. Thanks in advance for any help!

  14. I am sailing on the Elation for the first time in January. I have booked a pre-night hotel but need transportation to the port. I have searched but only find old threads. Anyone have info on who to use, costs, time it takes to get from airport hotels to the port? Not my first CCL cruise but I am working my way around. I got a great price so I booked a fantasy class as it has been a while since I've cruised one. I loved the Imagination so I wanted to give it a try on the Elation. Any help will be greatly appreciated.:D

  15. Ok my deposit is in, sitting here reviewing all I can about the Disney Dream. Called with more questions. Now the down and dirty...

    1. Once you have booked a cabin, will Disney honor a lower price than I paid if it is advertised?

    2. My DDIL booked this through her travel agent. Can I call Disney and get the discount? I hate cutting an agents commission as I also worked as one before retiring and still would love the discounts if available.

    3. I used to worry about booze police on other cruises but don't really drink as much anymore. My DS does! Does it still get through in rum runners?
