  1. We are considering a cruise to Iceland and Scotland on Silverseas newest ship, the Endeavor, which uses zodiacs to take passengers to take passenger on to shore especially in a lot of the small ports we will be visiting. We are in are mid 70's and early 80's but are normally mobile and in decent shape for our ages. Will we have trouble getting in and out of the zodiacs? This is for people who have traveled on smaller expedition style ships. Thanks for help.

  4. Hi,

We are looking at a Regent cruise in March 2023 for 24 days and can book a regular verandah suite and get upgraded to concierge suite for about $1000 person more. For those of you who have sailed with Regent and had both types of suites what do you think. Is the additional cost worth it given it includes a night in a hotel in Miami the day before the cruise.

    Thanks for the help.

    Have a great next cruise.

  5. Again thanks for the encouragement. I have had outside and even one inside cabin when I started cruising but except for the outside cabin I had on the Maasdam in 2010 on my first and only by-myself cruise after my first wife had died and a window suite on the Seabourn Pride (very few balconies on those ships) on a 2012 Baltic cruise, the last outside cabin was on Celebrity Zenith in 2003. But all your comments made me feel better about booking one and seeing how it goes. Have a great next cruise.

  6. Went out to Regent site to see if cabin 600 was available but unfortunately it wasn't. 610 was available and on the deck plans looks to be a little larger than some of the other cabins on that deck. Has anyone stayed in that cabin. Still trying to convince my wife to book it and if things haven't gotten better by May 2023 or 90 days before we can always cancel. Have a great next cruise.

  7. Thanks to everyone for your responses. I suspect my wife may be having second thoughts at doing any cruising with the news today that Norwegian cruise lines had a ship dock in  New Orleans after a 7 day western Caribbean cruise with at least 10 people, passengers and crew, who tested positive for Corvid19 in spite of the fact the cruise was only supposed to be carrying fully vaccinated  passengers and crew. The cruise we are looking at is 1 15 day from Miami to Montreal with a 3 day stop in Bermuda in 2023. The 2022 version of the cruise is sold out.

  8. Hi we are booked already on a Regent cruise in a balcony suite for July 2022 but saw a May 2023 cruise from Miami to Montreal which includes 3 days in Bermuda that looks interesting. There is a $4000 difference between a window suite and balcony suite. Has anyone sailed on the Navigator in a window suite especially the ones on deck six that can share their experience. Thanks

  9. Well is everyone still with us. Darlene and I are vaccinated but still restricting our outside activities. We did have a Mother's day dinner with her 2 sons and 2 grand sons all vaccinated with no masks inside a restaurant. Hopefully you have all gotten vaccinated or will have done so before your next cruise. I doubt we will try to cruise this year although I really would like to. Still seems risky.

    Have a great next cruise.

  10. Thanks to everyone for your answers. They were very educating and made me realize we are not the only ones feeling a smaller number of passengers might be safer. For the person considering Seabourn we did 2 cruises on them several years ago and loved both of them. One was on the Odyssey, which they still have, and one on the Pride which is now with Windstar. Great food and service and loved not having to give someone my card every time we wanted a drink. Have a great next cruise.

  11. We have been on 6 Celebrity cruises 2015-2019 booking their suite class staterooms and have mostly enjoyed the cruises. we especially enjoyed the separate suite dining room and Michele's club. On the Eclipse, Solstice and Equinox we have had noise problems from the fact some idiot at celebrity put their suite class cabins right below the Lido deck and all the activity and noise that is generated up there. Hopefully they will go back and try to put better soundproofing in the roof of those cabins while the ships are in a timeout. Anyway we have decided to begin cruising again in 2022 but want to do it on smaller ships. So we have booked a cruise on Regent Seven Seas for July 30, 2022, Iceland to Copenhagen. It carries 700 passengers instead of the 2850 the Celebrity ships we have sailed on recently and we feel a smaller passenger load hopefully will help protect us from Corvid19. We are in our 70's and have been vaccinated and by then may have had a vaccine booster shot. Anyway interested in anyone has sailed suite class on Celebrity and also on Regent and if so what was your opinion? Obviously the cost is higher but actually not that much more when you consider they include business class round trip airfare in their price. Have a great next cruise.

  12. Submitted my referral to Regent about 5 or 6 days ago and no response from them yet. I guess they operate on Island Time. Still excited about the cruise. Have been researching hotels and tours in Reykjavik and Copenhagen where we will staying for a few days before and after the cruise. We may decide to book our own airfare and save some money. Especially since we have to fly to Reykjavik and could use Iceland Air which seems to have some very affordable flights. Have a great next cruise.
