I forgot about this, this is a great option! I would just have to figure out how to get a picture! lol
Here's a thought - go to your roll call (assuming GF isn't also on it) and see if anyone there would be willing to arrange to be there to take pics or video. That sounds like a lovely place to propose!

How about one of those pop-up beach canapies?
-
Don't forget the ability, when you drive to port, to bring anything you want (that is allowed) vs worrying about weight requirements or whether you can schlep everything around if traveling.

I was bored
it is Sunday morning after all
Hmmm... any brass around?:D

rtkenmore,
We will be on the Escape in 15156, an angled spa balcony cabin. Did the overhang from deck 16 interfere much with getting sun?

As a fairly new cruiser (coming up to my third cruise) I love them! I could see how someone who cruises frequently might feel ho-hum about them, but that isn't me (yet)!

I don't have really expensive jewelry, but it is worth a lot of money by my standards. I just don't travel with anything but costume jewelry earrings, and I don't have "replacements" for my wedding rings.
BTW, I lost my original wedding band at the dog park :( and spent some years without another one at all (the company who made it doesn't have that style anymore, and I loved it). I recently broke down and got a new one ... I'm hanging on to it tightly!!

Monica887, there is a search feature. When you are looking at the list of different threads, it will be on the top right.

FYI I was supposed to go on a cruise and had to bail literally 2 days before the cruise left due to family crisis. My sister was able to find a friend to go with on very short notice, and there was no problem changing the name.

OP, I don't think that your post was excessive in any way. I read it as you wanting to give the details about all that went awry, instead of just saying "NCL dropped the ball." I am willing to bet that if you had not been detailed, you would be getting flak for complaining but not giving enough info.
I want to agree with many others on this thread, though - your wedding is one day; the point of it - your marriage - is what really matters in the long run. How stressful and sad that things went so wrong for you. But I hope that you have many many years of happiness and now you have a humdinger of a story to tell forevermore. I bet most weddings have glitches, not as many or as problematic as yours usually. I still remember that no pictures were taken of my brother-in-law, and no flowers were on the chupah.

Thank you all for the replies. I really appreciate the info.
So another question, We purchased the beverage package for my son. If he orders a soda - will we be charged a service fee on that soda?
Another question. The only perks we were given were 2 specialty dining packages and 2 $30 on board credits. What fees can we expect to see added onto our bill if we only eat at the included dining areas and drink only water every day. (im not saying this is going to happen but I just want to know)
Even if you don't eat at the specialty dining restaurants, I believe that you will still be obligated to pay for the service charge. (If I am wrong, I am sure that someone will correct me!) If you only want to eat at the included venues, simply do NOT accept the dining package and you won't have to pay the 20% gratuities/service charge.

I'm reading the boards as soon as I have a cruise on the calendar! Keeps me happy. :)

OP, Im just curious. Were you ever the person waiting who was told "no room" when people could have made room for you? Was it still a great idea? I'm not trying to be snarky, just wondering if your point of view comes from experiencing both aspects of this issue.
For myself, when resources are few and in high demand, I am ok putting myself out a bit to give other people access to the resources.

I'll be sailing to Bermuda in late may (the 5/27 sailing) and might be doing some live updates. I'm getting married on embarkation day, so don't expect too much from me day 1.
How exciting! Congratulations!
Count me in as someone who is eager to hear about Escape to Bermuda cruises. I'm going in August.

I don't understand why something can't be a win-win. Good for the environment and also a cost-saving measure for the company. One doesn't negate the other. No need to fume about "Kool-ade".
HOWEVER, I would love to see them use the biodegradable plastic-seeming straws and cups, which I will bet cost more than the conventional plastic ones.
-
OK, now I am anxious. What cruise papers do you feel a need to have a folder for?
-
When I was visiting Boulder, CO I noticed that there were recyclable stiff straws (not to mention cups) that SEEMED like plastic but would biodegrade. That would work for the frozen drinks, I'm sure!

Currently on a low-carb diet, not WW, but following this thread. One thing that I plan to do is to NOT WEIGH MYSELF until I've been home for a week, to see what is "real" weight vs water weight/temporary weight. Also planning to WALK WALK and more WALK on the ship.
-
Thanks for your enjoyable review! It was a lot of fun to follow.
-
Do people not realize that the duties of the Cruise Director actually include planning all activities on board, and those can and will change on a weekly basis.
I can't answer for everyone, but I for one did not know that! Thanks.
-
Thanks. It sounds like I will need to wait and see how things go once Escape starts the NYC - Bermuda run. I knew it might be early (we sail in August) but, for me, planning is part of the fun!
-
When one ship takes over for another's route (specifically, when the Escape starts going to Bermuda from NYC instead of the Breakaway doing that run) are the dailies likely to remain the same? I'm trying to figure out what days I'm likely to be busy on planned events like Behind the Scenes tour.
TIA!

I don't remember....are reservations needed?
No reservations needed for Howl at the Moon. It is very casual entertainment...drop in whenever, leave whenever.
