  1. We have our first cruise in a few years thanks to covid and are platinum. How is embarkation done if you are platinum. We used to show up early and go to a special section in the port and then platinum/diamond were let on first. How do they do it now or is that perk gone and you just show up at the time they give you? Thanks

Thanks. I finally someone to answer after about 1h40m. Mine was also a casino offer but they did not transfer me there. You could tell carnival was being slammed because she just said it was cancelled and I would be getting my money back and she was trying to get me off the phone asap for the next call.

I just got off the phone with Carnival and they canceled & refunded my 8/24 Alaska cruise w/o penalty. It was a casino (Jackpot) offer so they had to transfer me to that dept. to complete. She didn't bat an eye at my cancellation request, she just asked if I was interested in a later cruise and I told her that I just wanted to start fresh after all of the dust settles. It would have been nice to cruise w/o restrictions but there are too many other vacation options available than to deal with these uncertain times. I still haven't received the email announcing the new protocols.

How long were you on hold. I am sitting on 1.5 hours now.

  4. Unbelievable. I cancelled my RCL cruise because they required testing for vaccinated passengers and booked mardi gras yesterday for august 14th. I even called carnival yesterday and was assured there would be no testing and my non refundable payment would be given back if they did. I am about to call and cancel but I guarantee they will try and screw me.

  5. I have the same problem. I cancelled my odyssey of the seas cruise because they require testing for vaccinations and that was my red line. I can do a mardi gras cruise in 11 days but I am not sure if they will change the rules again. For me this is a free oceanview with $500 casino cash and free drinks anywhere on board. A good deal for my son and I and we are fully vaccinated but we are against testing. What to do what to do.

  6. Quick question before I make a decision on a cruise with carnival. I am fully vaccinated, live in florida, and would sail out of port canaveral. I just cancelled my Odyssey of the seas cruise because they require testing even on vaccinated and I am tired of RCL changing their rules all the time. Does carnival require any testing at all on vaccinated passengers. My son and I would be going and both of us are vaccinated. thanks

  7. I have watched some videos now of people who are fully vaccinated having to test before they get on the ship. I hope this is not true in August or I will cancel. I did my time. I wore a mask every single time I went out. I got vaccinated on the first day I was eligible. I am not going through testing to get on and stay on a ship especially when you can get on and then contact it from somebody else. Enough already.

  8. I decided not to do it either due to cost and time. Their ultra alaska cruise would be 2k for 2 people while at RCL I could sail for free. No thanks. I have noticed my offers are getting really bad now.

  9. I just got my first ever ultra cruise from carnival offer. However, the lowest price is 449 per person so are  these worth it considering I have mountains of rcl free cruise offers? I have been on an elite cruise before with carnival which was great but that cruise was free while the ultra would cost me over 1k for 2 people. Thanks for your advice.

  10. Hi. I have 3 offers in my account and wondered if someone had information on them. The first I will not put as it is my obvious tier level cruise.

    2020 NOV-FEB 2021 SAILINGS (20VAR1) JUNIOR SUITE + $250 FREEPLAY

2020 HIGH VALUE HOLIDAY SAILINGS OFFER (20HOL1) BALCONY + $250 FREEPLAY

Anyone know if these are on any sailings? Thanks

  11. I got the offers but I am not falling for it. First they were putting stuff up like free cruise then you click on it and it says pay $200 per room and get $400 credit. Then you put 2 people in and suddenly they wanted $200 per person plus of course fees and taxes. After I shredded them on facebook(not that they care) they changed it to $200 per person get $400 credit. Basically you are handing them $700. Normally I would go for it but this feels more like they are trying to get cash up front and not care about the actually cruising part. They just issued millions of new shares and bonds at around 13%. They pay nothing if they get cash from their customers.

Finally look at their refund policy. They have been inconsistent and not honoring cash refunds. Maybe it is a good deal but I do not trust carnival at all right now and will pass. Over the last 2 years they have really treated their casino players like crap so I will return the favor.

  13. I saw one elite member get a 2.6k handpay the first night. She was up to nearly 6k in points so that probably got her even. I did hear about a 20k jackpot hit but I have no clue if that was an elite member or not. I also saw a 1.2k and 4k jackpot hit. On my last day I checked my offers and there were more elite cruises offered. The problem is there were only 2 left and this one(pardon me why I cry) was for elite cruise to Alaska, Panama Canal, and Hawaii. Those were sold out(sob). I got the brochure in my mail the day I got back but by then it was too late. My kid, who dreams of going to Alaska on a cruise, was heartbroken. A free balcony and excursion would have been incredible. I will be on the January 20th on the Horizon(elite also) but it is leaving out of my most hated port- Miami.
