  1. Well I called the players club and was offered a 3-5 day cruise and I also learned a few things I never knew about while I was being bitched at because people are greedy and you can never make everyone happy. I had 7.5k points on an 8 day cruise and was offered a cruise up to 8 days. I then got 9.5k points on the 5 day cruise but was not offered up an 8 day cruise which makes no sense to me but apparently does to them.

1)They go by your current cruise with your offer. She said they will not up the amount of days even if you had more points.

2)**Most importantly*** They go by your play the last 2 days. Wow I wish I had known that. You can get a million points on your first day but they could care less. On the sunshine I was still betting alot on the last couple days because the machines were decent but on the Liberty I and everyone else got killed so I only put about 2k up during the last 2 days. Seriously none of this makes any sense to me but so be it.

  2. Thanks. I emailed and did a decent job of keeping it civil which is difficult as I am still raging. That was my 10th cruise and I still cannot believe the incompetence of the staff and the horrific perks. I got my special offer in my account and it was from $124 with $0 money after 17k slot points on my last 2 cruises. Insane.

  3. Last month I went on the sunshine for an 8 day cruise and had a blast in the casino. I did not come home with anything close to a profit but their casino staff was incredible and the machines were hitting. Every night as my points grew I received comps from cookies to wine and on the last night I received a letter under the door offering a free cruise which I took as 5 days on the liberty. Oh was that a terrible mistake.

I arrived sunday and went down before the casino opened to talk the the casino head host. I saw on these forums that 5k points on your previous cruise(I had a little over 7k on sunshine) got you a free drink card before you even played. I talked to the lady in charge who acted confused like I was making things up. She was suppose to head the entire casino yet somehow did not know this? I look on the counter next to her arm and literally my free drink card with my name on it was sitting there so she reluctantly gave it to me while lecturing me how you cannot expect this every cruise. I should have known right there things would be going downhill.

Let me state that there was one host from I think Peru who was great. He was the ONLY staff to every approach me and tried his best to keep up with the general incompetence of the ship. I felt sorry for him at the end. Anyway, I met many people playing slots and everyone said the same thing- payouts were a joke and I mean the most pathetic I have ever seen in any casino. I love the goldfish game and the sunshine was hitting right and left while the liberty never hit anything(we are talking 200 spins for one bonus). During the entire cruise they had 3 jackpots for $1500 and 2 of them were on the same machine. They had more jackpots on the first hour on the sunshine. Needless to say after midnight barely anyone played the slots and the last couple days everyone just gave up.

After the first night I had 2900 points and received nothing. Day 2 I had over 4k points and received some really tiny dried out chocolate covered strawberries. I was told they would send over some cookies for my kid which took them 3 days to do and my wine also took a ship detour and arrived late during the last night. When I asked the original lady on its location I was told it had been sent to the dining room but since I was not there they could not deliver it to my room until they had proof I had not picked it up. Really? Apparently she assumes her guests are all liars and thieves.

I ended the cruise with over 9k points and was told by the casino staff they give out free cruises with 5k points on an 8 day cruise so a 5 day cruise would be much less. It did not matter anyway since I had 9k but sure enough no letter. Before I got off I talked another host and was told they no longer give letters(the sunshine did and another host said just 3 weeks ago they did) but I would receive an email or call with my personal invitation. I did not believe a word he said.

Goodbye carnival. Hello NCL. Pathetic customer service. Pathetic comps. Pathetic payoffs. Lie after lie. No thanks.

  4. Can someone let me know what the best slots to play on the liberty are. I loved the goldfish slots on the sunshine and the money seemed to last loner on those. I would love a slot that lasts awhile to rack up points. thanks.

  5. I guess it never hurts to ask- maybe. I have qualified for a couple free cruises on carnival from my carnival play in the last year. However, I am kinda getting tired of their ships and would like to go on RC again. Is there a way to parlay my play from carnival onto RC like a free cruise or comps. I had about 7.5k points last trip and wondered if the ocean players club kept track for a singular cruise line or for the 3 biggest. thanks.

  6. Just a quick update. I fully realize I am being unreasonable now but they offered to switch for $50 a person. I am just the type of person who cannot throw money away. They told me the liberty I am on sold out so they would have to put it up for resale. I am somewhat confused about this rationale though as the liberty would have one open cabin that sales in 2 days and the sunshine sails tomorrow and has 24 open cabins left so why are they so concerned about 1 when they should be about the remaining 24 more expensive rooms. Oh well I tried... and tried... and tried lol.

  7. The day crew shot me down. I was not even allowed to talk to a supervisor. In light of what happened on my last trip I will just use royal carribean for all future cruises. Lesson learned.

P.S. I do not blame them per se but carnival has terrible customer service and there was room on the sunshine in which they would have made more money and kept a customer happy.

  8. I will be on the liberty in 4 days and today my kid informed me that his best friend will be on the sunshine which is in 3 days. The extra amount of the cruise would cost me $249 to switch over. However, when I called they said I would have to purchase a new cruise and still owe on the first one. I realize most places have change/cancellation fees but honestly neither cruise is sold out and they would make more money if I switched. Is there any department that can help with this and have some common sense or am I stuck on what I have? thanks

  9. I must be missing something. When I went online to look at a couple cruises it raised the base price on both so that when the bogo 50% discount hit my price actually went up. I fail to see how this is a deal. For example, a $636 cruise was raised to $849 so I paid $213 more for the first person and $212 less for the second person which meant my cruise was $1 more. Wow what a steal- not.

  10. Don't get me wrong I am thrilled to get this letter but no clue why they sent it. I got offered nearly any cruise for $50 a person(up to 2 people) + fees/taxes and I get back $100 room credit so basically the cruise itself is free and I just pay for the fees/taxes. I called carnival already and they confirmed it and when I went online the promo was in my account so I booked a 7 day cruise on the carnival dream starting this December 28th for $265 for 2 people with $100 room credit. Is this a christmas giveaway or are they trying to get my back as I have not sailed with them in a year?
