Thanks for the responses. Yes, one bottle per person, two people in my cabin. I still can't find anything about 750 ml on the Celebrity Canadian site, my cruise document doesn't specify, nor does the contract, nor does the faq. In reality we shouldn't be required to look any further. I will probably try it, with a cheap bottle of wine. I think I know what to expect. It might be entertaining if nothing else. This was just a curiosity, I have a habit of reading my documents. I also have a drink package.

I received our cruise documents, they say I can bring two bottles of wine but do not specify the size, other cruise lines are quite clear about the size. Has anyone brought the 1.5 litre bottles on with them? If so , how did it play out? Seems like Celebrity is the only one that doesn't specify bottle size.

I have the same letter. The site used to say complimentary test when I booked, I have it in print, now they say they are charging. That's like saying the drinks aren't included anymore. How can anyone be loyal to a company doing business that way.

How did you manage to bring 10 bottles on board Princess when they have the same restrictions as Carnival? Also in my experience corkage is rarely actually charged in the MDR on Princess, but to answer your question. No you can't.

Princess had no issues, I just paid the fee and they put stickers on the bottles. Good to go for the dining room or anywhere.

Can I bring more than 1 bottle per person and pay corkage at embarkation? For example, last Princess cruise I brought 10 bottles on board, payed corkage on 8. Been searching but no luck finding an answer.

If you win all the great games on board you will have plenty of that great Champagne Princess gives out for winning. :o :o It's made everyday in the boiler room.

LOL, yes, best to strive for second place and avoid the art auction.

You have always been able to take any alcohol on board at any port but as the notice says it will be held by the ship till the last night.
Yes, but just the alcohol is held, at least they don't hold the wine or champagne.

Thanks to everyone for the responses. Very enlightening! I was expecting a cruise ship formal night every night, what a relief!

I am going on my first river cruise, Uniworld, Castles on the Rhine. What should I expect for evening dinner wear? Suit, sports coat, smart casual? It sails early April, I expect cool weather.
Thanks in advance.

I Have not been on carnival but just got off a 3 day cruise on Navigator of the Seas, some I talked to compared it to their Carnival experience, some liked Carnival better. Food on RCC is okay, but nothing beyond that, drinks are expensive, entertainment really depends on the ship, newer ship, better entertainment.

So this is how it went down in the end. My wife had one bottle of wine in her carry on, I had one bottle of wine and two 50ml Tequila bottles in my carry on, plus one bottle of wine in one piece of luggage and a 1.5 litre bottle of wine in the other luggage. Everything made it to my room. So my plan backfired, I had five bottles, only left the ship with one bottle! I wish they hadn't trusted me to store the wine!

Royal allows you to bring on 4 bottles of wine if you are on consecutive cruises.
Second cruise is on Princess, I'm not sure they will be as forgiving. :-)

Hi, I'm doing back to back in Port Everglades, first cruise is on Royal Caribbean, does anyone know if I can bring four bottles of wine on board and put two of them in storage until the end of the cruise. I'm trying to avoid leaving the port just to get wine.
Thanks,

Thanks, how about the option of bringing four on the first cruise, and avoid leaving the port? Anyone tried it?

Is there any place in the port to pick up wine in between the cruises? We are doing back to back on different ships, Port everglades. The first cruise is Royal Caribbean, I had also thought about bringing four bottles on and asking them to store two. Any suggestions?
Thanks

Of course you can share a bottle of wine.
The better place for your research would be on the Princess board, here:
Thanks for the response. I had kept the question general in case other cruise lines offed discounted bottles of wine with a drink package.
-
No, not what you're thinking! I have a package on Princess, If I buy a bottle of wine I get 40% off. I'm thinking since I paid 60% of the cost of the bottle, sharing the bottle would be acceptable and reasonable. Any thoughts, has anyone done it in plain sight?
-
Thanks, I didn't think the taxis would have much interest going from dock to dock.
-
Anyone know if you can buy a drink package on day two of a three day cruise. I won't need it day one, boarding late, usually bring some wine on with me.
Thanks

I am going to being getting off of Navigator of the Seas and onto Regal princess on the same day. Is there transportation inside the port for that?

My daughter works for Park West and has been on several different cruise brands. She say's Carnival 2.0 has the best in her opinion. My last few cruises were RCCL, food isn't their strong point, pizza included. Going back on Celebrity Sunday, I will report back.:)

One difference in buying in advance versus on board is there is no gratuity added to pre-bought items.
On board, the standard 18% gratuity will be added.
That's a good tip!
Thanks

Should the wine be in your luggage or carried through check in?

Perfect! I don't see the cruise line having an issue. I was thinking white wine, I will have to confirm the size of the bar fridge.
