We have sailed out of San Juan twice.   And would again.   The trip is what you make of it.   I have had people who had to listen to their own music, and making everyone around them on the pool deck listen to it as well, on both RC ships and Disney ships.

Hi! We are traveling in March with 2 staterooms- my minor son is sharing a cabin with another family. The 2 reservations are linked. If I purchase the photo package, will my son be covered? I am thinking of the individual pics we like to have done of formal nights.

If you buy the Deluxe or Refeshment package, those include specialty coffees like lattes, americanos, cappuccinos. They do not include Starbucks from the kiosks on certain ships. However, they could possibly use Starbuck’s beans at other speciality coffee locations. There is no difference in specialty or premium.

 

 

 

I am recently off the Allure and they used Seattle Best.

So with the Refreshment package, it can not be used at Starbucks? We will be on the Adventure.

Hi! Our plan is to spend the day at Palm Beach and our kids would like to parasail. Has anyone done this at Palm Beach? Do you know the costs?

At one point I had discovered a beach club/restaurant at Mambo Beach where you could rent a bed alongside their pool or facing the ocean and it looked great. I just never wrote down the information. Has anyone the name of it, or something similar?

Hi all! I have seen some pictures with Starbucks having smoothies, but not sure if that is fleet wide. Is there a place to get smoothies on Adventure?

Can I ask where the flow rider is on board? We are on deck 10, aft and trying to figure out how far it is from the room. I see Adventure Dunes on the deck map, but I am assuming that is mini golf.

We will be following along on your trip! Looking forward to hearing about your experiences as we are on the same sailing in March.

You might be able to luck out at Goodwill this time of year.

Hi all! We are planning to rent a car for the few days we are in San Juan pre-cruise. We are staying in the Isla Verde area but want to visit OSJ at last one day, mainly for the forts. Are there public parking lots in the vicinity of each that we will be able to use? I faintly remember that San Cristobel had a small lot, but that may changed. We would most likely drive to each fort as my DF is mobility challenged.

Hi all! After reading different posts with conflicting information, I was hoping that someone who has been on the Jewel can answer a few questions for me.

1. If purchasing the premium package on-board, was there any type of loyalty discount?

2. Was there a difference in price if pre-paid or paid for on your boarding day? There is a thread discussing that some ships have gratuities included if pre-purchasing and if bought on the boat, the gratuities are additional.

Hi all! Is there a ferry that will take us from the Pan Am pier to Bacardi (and back)? I have only seen info on how to do it from Pier 2 in OSJ.

We thought we might try that before we board in a few weeks.

We have done both cruise lines. My kids enjoyed the programs on each ship they have been on. They were just happy to be on a ship and some time with other kids. I appreciated how Disney was anytime during the day, while RC 'closed' at lunch time.

So looking forward to reading your review! We will be boarding in a few weeks!!

H all! For our upcoming stop, we would like to go to Coki for 4-5 hours and then head up to Mountain Top. (I have no desire to ride the arial tram to the top, I just just like to go to the top by vehicle). Does anyone know of a tour company that does this? (Godfrey has not responded to the question sent over a week ago). Or will we be able to do it by taxi?

We have bought 10+ policies from Travelguard and have made 2 claims. They were easy to work with and had no problems. When we were stranded in Tampa this Febrauary, I called about our options. They were the ones to suggest renting a car and driving to Orlando (which was covered/reimbursed).

I believe that you have to purchase insurance within 14 days of booking to be covered for pre existing conditions.

We have done a few cruises with the kids where they have enjoyed AO. The kids are ds 10 and dd 8. Our most recent trip was on the Vision and they were just not that interested in AO this time. We had them try it on our 1st sea day ( and gave them the option of signing themselves out as we were going to be on the pool deck) and they stayed maybe 60 minutes. The most recent cruises before our Vision one were on Disney and there is more stuff for kids to do in their kids programs- so they may have gotten a bit spoiled. And for my 10 year old...there were no other kids his age in the program.

I was happy to have the kids with us more this trip, so it was a win win for everyone.

We recently became DVC members and wanted to know if there were any perks or benefits offered to DVC members while on the cruise?

If so, how do you let them know you are a member?

I recall there was a DVC member get togther (free drinks). It was a big commercial with a sales rep showing you all the great things you can do with DVC and suggesting you buy more points. There was a raffle included and DH was $100 in OBC.

Awesome pics! We are going on the Vision on the 14th and booked the same cave tubing excursion. I wouldn't have thought about bug spray for the walk either, any other tips?
