What do you mean? This floppy pizza doesn't look delicious to you?

I actually have  theory about why NCL's pizza is so bad. It's the same theory I have about why they always put out the lesser cookie types (oatmeal raisin vs. chocolate chip). If they put out pizza that was actually GOOD, then people would eat it and they would have to make way more of it.

    Jamie,

That slice deserves a burial at sea! Wowzie!!

I might. We signed up the college sophomore DD to drink beer and wine.  She’s on her second beer!  But I wanted to let her have a glass of champagne at dinner. May give Moet a try tonight!!

I am planning to do this also for my 20yo. I am bringing a copy of his birth certificate only because I am concerned that they will give me a hard time since we have different las names, I remarried and I know only parents can sign the waiver.

Le Bistro or Teppanyaki tonight?  We love both but only have a two night package...  MDR so good not sure enough want to pay $200 for dinner. Hmmm...

Selfishly,  I vote Le Bistro. I have that one reserved for my son and I. My husband will never go with me so I’m picking it for this cruise. I figure my son and get a steak and fries or go to the buffet later. I’m looking forward to the experience.

Found Windjammers!  A hidden bar. You have to walk through Bliss nightclub to find it. Of course, my youngest said Bliss looked like “a Ted Talk” last night. Ugh. Hoping a deck party livens things up tonight. Missing Howl at the Moln.

You said you are missing Howl at the Moon. Is it not on the 5 day Sun? That’s one of my favorites!

Here’s a MUST KNOW that I didn’t. If you are someone who styles your hair with a blow dryer. BRING YOUR OWN. I don’t believe this beauty from the 60’s was intended to style hair. Only dry it. On its own time schedule. A couple decades ago. I’m sorry. I sailed an older carnival ship that had been updated and they sprung for real blow dryers. Not cool NCL. Not cool.  You should give your clientele an amenities warning. A chance to fix this while packing.

oh, and while I’m at it...  the premium WiFi is a joke. Why call it premium if it isn’t???  Why not “less shitty WiFi for a premium Price”??? I would have likely still bought it, paid $150 for 5 days because of work. But my expectations would have been lower.

Odd. Check all the drawers, I swear I watched a YT video of a Sun OV cabin and they had both that weird blowing thing and a real hairdryer.

  6. A little known gem next to the port is a location of Café Du Monde built inside of the shopping mall right there at the pier!

There is no line and they make them on-site, right in front of you like the flagship location! We took an Uber to the mall the morning of our cruise then actually walked back to our hotel and still made it back to the port at 10:30 or so.

  7. Bird, or anyone who knows...if you look at the bottom of the comprehensive wine list, the 'star' in the legend states 'Choice of bottle included in Premium Plus Beverage Package'.

I copied this from NCL, and it is located in the handout Bird got.

PLUS, A 40% DISCOUNT ON ALL WINE BOTTLES, WINE & SPIRIT EXPERIENCES, TASTINGS AND FLIGHTS PURCHASED ON BOARD.

My question, does that mean that the Veuve Clicquot Yellow Label is not included in that 40% off discount if purchased by the bottle.

  8. Sooooooooooooo glad I found this thread! Me and my SON head out on the SUN in 2 weeks! :classic_biggrin: We have a late arrival the night before the cruise but I am biting the bullet and heading to Cocoa Beach so that we can wake up to the ocean prior to boarding.

He is 20 and I will be getting him the parental waiver for beer and wine and paying ala carte for his drinks. We did do the AI for the beach days so he can have some variety to his beverages.

I am hoping there are still some young adults on the cruise when we go. I plan to spend time with him but I imagine he wants to hang out with others his own age. He is joining the Air Force next month so this is going to be much needed mom/son time. Great photos!

I see now that the cruisetour for that sailing is now on the past cruiser list so I can add a 7 day extension that incudes Fairbanks for about 3800.00.

Hi! We are on a NB Jewel next year. What do you mean the cruisetour is on the past cruiser list? Can you just add the land portion after the cruise itself is booked? I have a great price in a great cabin now and wouldn't want to have to rebook everything. I am trying to decide on a DIY 3-4 day post cruise tour or other options.

    Thanks

  10. Hi! I am sure I could ask this on the Florida port forum but I am looking for specific information on boarding times with NCL, and the Sun.

I am flying into MCO the night before, sorta of late, 10:40pm or so. My plan was to get an airport hotel then shuttle/Uber to Cocoa Beach and spend the day at the beach before boarding to ship. I am wondering if it is just better to bite the bullet and get out to the coast the night I fly in and then wake up enjoying the ocean.

All of my previous cruises, I am want to board as soon as possible. :classic_biggrin: This trip, I need to slow my pace a little and enjoy the beach as much as I can, as the cruise only has 2 port days and I am coming from the tundra in Minnesota. It is just my adult son and I, so I think we will get through fairly quickly.

I am aware of the 2 hour on preboard requirement for embarkation. What is the latest you have gotten to the port on a ship the size of Sun? I am Gold Latitudes status, not that it matters much.

    Thanks!

  11. In the Caribbean we decide to stay on the ship, depending on the port or head to the taxi area and find a quiet beach. If that is your definition of excursions, then we do those. LOL. We are planning Alaska for July and that is a different story, but beach vacations are just that; sun, fun and foo foo drinks. :classic_biggrin:

  12. What a delightful review! I am brand loyal; well, more my spouse than anyone, he loves the freestyle approach with NCL. I am actually going on the Sun next month with my son before he leaves for the military in Feb. You have me looking forward to our 5 day cruise that I am hoping feels like a week long escape from the cold! This is also my first OV booked, on that half-sized Oslo deck.

What deck is that promenade deck that had all the loungers? On the pool deck?
