Agree with the recommendation for Bernard's tours in St. Maarten! We've done it twice! It's a great way to get a little taste of several different spots on the island.
I HIGHLY recommend the Old San Juan Food Tour from Flavors of San Juan. It was one of my favorite island experiences ever!

We stayed at the Quality Inn Airport-Cruiseport when we sailed out of Tampa the last time. It's about halfway between the airport and the cruise port. They have a free shuttle from the airport to the motel, a very nice hot breakfast included, and a shuttle to the cruise port for (I think) $8.00 per person, which they will add right to your bill. Nothing fancy, but certainly met our needs for the night before a cruise.

We were on Deck 3 under the dining room last year on the Vision and never heard a thing. Booked for Brilliance TA next fall and chose 3137 -hoping for the same results!

We did end up having around 400 kids on the cruise, most well behaved. I didn't see a lot of college aged spring breakers, though.

Thanks, everyone, for the suggestions! We ended up just taking an old phone that we didn't care about losing, and got some great pictures! Never even got the least bit wet.

To all who have done cave tubing -
We will be in Belize next week and I really want to get pictures while hiking/cave tubing, but am a little leery about carrying my phone and taking the chance of getting it wet or losing it in the water entirely! Any suggestions? Maybe a disposable waterproof camera?

We're on the Vision on April 2, also. I did a lot of research before booking, and it seemed to me that most spring breaks are over by then....hopefully....:(

kleo- Loved your review! We are sailing this itinerary on March 3rd, and it will be our first time on RCCL. Can you tell me if you docked at the Old San Juan Dock or the Pan Am Dock in San Juan?

Hi everyone!
We are booked on Grandeur of the Seas for March 3 and were so anxious to do the Flavors of San Juan tour. However, our ship does not dock until 2:30 pm and the tour begins at 3:00. Does anyone have experience with making this tour on a ship that docks so late? Thanks in advance...

Cruiser from Maine, Our ship isn't supposed to dock until 3:00pm, and the last tour of the day with Flavors of San Juan is actually at 3:00pm. Do you think there's any way we can make it?

When we arrived at SJU for our recent cruise, the taxi stand gave us a rate sheet which we kept with us. Rates to all major areas are listed (and yes, the 50 cent surcharge was stamped on it) Found this page, and the rates are the same as on our rate chart...

I was pleasantly surprised, too. Another great thing about it is that it's NOT in the bathroom! You can get out of everybody's way instead of taking up valuable bathroom space!

They were in a dispenser right with the coffee, water, and iced tea.

Cranberry, apple, and orange juices were available all day/evening at the Garden Cafe on the Pearl last month.

We just used Tri-County Airport Express when we left for our cruise on 3/16. We weren't able to fly in a day early, snowstorms hit the northeast, and our plane was late into FLL. They got us right into a van (they were loading lots of them to different places) and we got to the Port of Miami with time to spare. $18/pp http://www.floridalimo.com Someone asked how long it takes, and I'm sure it depends on what day of the week it is and the time of day. It's only about 25 miles, but takes around 45 minutes.

No charge for iced tea with meals in the dining room. There is water, coffee, orange juice, iced tea, cranberry juice, and apple juice available at all times from the Garden Cafe, too. Just returned from 9 days on the Pearl and LOVED it!

Does Jewel of the Seas sail from the Pan American or Old San Juan port for a cruise originating from San Juan? Thanks in advance!
