  1. I wouldn't buy a GoPro from anywhere other than REI. They have the best return policy. I use my GoPro to scubadive and I know that if it floods REI will take it back for a cash refund or exchange no questions asked. Best customer service store I know!

  2. If my memory serves me correctly, I think it is $7 a day for domestic cruises and $9 a day for European cruises. There may have been a price increase that I am not aware of, but at least you have a ball-park figure.

Is this per person or per cabin? When we did our Holland cruise to Alaska we had three people in our room and it included all of us. However, I think I remember reading it is now per person.

  3. If it makes your feel any better, $449 is way too high for a 7 days cruise. I refused it this year on the Zuiderdam and the price dropped a week later to $199 which we accepted. Happy Holidays.

We leave in 2 days so I doubt it will drop more. I waited on hold for an hour yesterday and then hung up. Today they were closed so I am going to try to call tomorrow morning. Maybe they will drop the price. Doesn't hurt to ask and if not we will still love our cruise. I haven't had a bad cruise yet!!! I better start packing!

  4. We have traveled outside the port several times, always on our own. Never with a ships tour. We felt completely safe on all the excursions we took. Once we even hired one of the taxis to just drive us around and he took us to see some pretty nice things. So to say don't believe anyone that says they feel safe is an awful statement to make, you have no idea how I felt. Go, venture outside the port and enjoy the island. But like all places, be aware of your surroundings!

  5. My husband did this dive on our cruise in March. He booked the dive himself and loved it. He said it was one of the best wreck dives he's been on....and he's done alot. They've opened up the ship so you can actually go into the body of the ship. I believe it's five decks. He used a dive shop that was within walking distance to the pier....not sure of the name but will check his log book and post later.

PLease let me know who he used. Thanks!

  6. Through January 30, 2014 you are allowed to bring as much wine/champagne/sparking wine on board as you wish. That's both at initial embarkation and at every port.

You may drink it in your cabin without paying any corkage fee. If you bring it to a dining room, lounge, or public area, there is a corkage fee of $18 per bottle.

Starting January 31, 2014, passengers are allowed to bring aboard one 750 ml bottle (or equivalent in smaller bottles, according to one reference sent by Seattle) per person at least age 21, at initial embarkation only.

    The same corkage rules apply.

Thank you, that will work put perfect for us!!! We are sailing this New Years!

  7. Just did the Med and loved, loved ,loved it. We also did an Alaska cruise with 10 days on our own land trip. Hated the ports in the Alaska cruise, I don't need all the same stores that are in the Caribbean. Luckily we booked excursions that took us outside of every port. Now the 10 day land trip in Alaska was beyond amazing, we rented a motor home and traveled at our leisure. We passed many cruise ship busses with masses of people and knew we could never do that. So if you get a chance I highly recommend a land tour of Alaksa on your own, not through the cruis line!
