Yes along with the cruise Princess has sold us guaranteed seats for a fixed price. When the airlines release seats for our flights Princess will sort out which airline etc. As its such a long flight we will be booking premium economy probably with Emirates

Thanks for all your help we have now booked on Crown Princess 19th March 2025. I was surprised that Princess still require a Covid test before boarding . Is it easy to get a test in Sydney? As a quick look shows that many test stations are closing . However I'm hoping as the test isn't required by Australian law Princess may drop this test as they have in other parts of the world .

It must have really interesting to compare the 2 ships so close together. The old Sun princess certainly had a long and interesting life. Someone sent me a photo of her a few years ago looking very sorry for herself and listing badly , then a few months later she capsized and was being cut up by the locals. In her hay day she looked so modern and sleek. Happy times in BC / Mexico could still safely walk around Acapulco then , or was I just young dumb and unaware lol.

Im UK based but yes I agree we will need a few days either side of the cruise to recover. The longest flight I've done before is about 10 hours so goodness know how I'll feel after 20+ hours flying lol.

Thank you all so much for taking the time to reply you've given me food for thought. We do like Princess , maybe because I worked on Spirit of London / Sun Princess in the mid 70's based in the US / Canada at the time. I'll have to research the bight , funny enough I was going to ask if any well know rough areas . We have sailed through the Bay of Biscay a few times but have been mainly ok . Our TA should get back to us early this week with a few options and I'll contact our personal cruise planner at Princess today and raise some of the ideas that you have given me.

Hello We are looking to book a cruise around Australia either next year if cabins available or the following year ie 2025, oh that sounds so far away lol. We have cruised many times from UK to the med and to Canada and USA etc. Any thoughts regarding which cruise line, port of departure, must do trips, airline, hotels etc. We have tried to cruise around Australia twice in 2019 and again in 2020 but due to Covid both trips were cancelled one with only 2 days notice. We are looking at at more adult orientated ship as we are both the wrong side of 60 . Sorry if so many questions but my head is spinning, we have asked a travel agent to sort out a couple of itineraries but would love to hear from peoples experiences. Thank you for reading Brian@Lynn
