You may want to see how many ships will be in port because that is a big factor. You can see that at claalaska.com. I know the day we go there will be over 7,000 people so I expect it to take awhile.

We are on Princess so we will be using the laundry facilities

Just be mindful that on some of the "train one way, bus the other" tours, the bus just retraces the path of the train from Fraser and does not travel any further north. But there are tours that provide vans that go to Emerald Lake and then back to Skagway, or vice versa, with the van taking you to Emerald Lake and then down to Fraser where you board the train to go back to Skagway.  I would definitely recommend one of those "best of both worlds" trips.   

We thought about that but we really don't want an 8 hour excursion.

We are doing train up and bus back so we can have both experiences.

I would just get replacements at the port.

If you go into cruise personalizer and click on flights and scroll down you will find "transfers"

I don't think you are doing anything wrong. The app is inconsistent when recognizing premier when making reservations. If it charges you you can get reimbursed on the ship.

I'll be on this cruise with my son and I'm a bit old school, I'll check emails and read the news on a laptop in the morning. A mobile phone sits in the desk drawer until we go ashore. It is the last thing I want to carry around with me. The Medallion is good for opening the cabin door and don't get me started about how much better it is than the old cruise card!

They send them about two weeks before you cruise. The batteries are short lived so they don't send them early.

I was going to ask a question about it as I could find nothing official about the arrangements.  The method of handling passengers on May 9th is the same as it was last year. Getting back to the "aft" ship can take a long time when a train arrives.  We will be back in Skagway near the end of July and were wondering about the current condition.  

The procedures at the railway dock are the sane as they were last year. Tender for RRF and shuttle for RRA.

The app is "buggy" when it comes to ordering medallions. I couldn't do it in the app but I had no problem placing our order in the "web version" in cruise personalizer on the Princess website.

They say you have to wait until final payment is made but I had no problem making my reservations before I made final payment. I did make my reservation using the "web version" that is in cruise personalizer on the Princess website. That shouldn't have made a difference but it did. I don't have "status". I hope this helps!

We had trouble trying to order our medallions in the app but we had no trouble ordering them using the "web version" that is in cruise personalizer on the Princess website. I have attached a screen shot that shows how to get to the "web version" if you want to give it a try. I hope this helps!

Strangely, Radiance was supposed to dock at the Broadway dock on the current cruise, not sure why they still switched the itinerary for Haines.

I wonder if they needed to close the Broadway dock so they could work on the Ore dock? It will be interesting to see if the other ships that are scheduled for the Broadway dock this week also get shifted.

Not familiar with RC but for our trip with Princess all of the transfer information is in our Travel Summary. Do they have a similar document with RC?
