  1. My son and I went though Carnival and booked, and I am really glad that we did. We had tender issues with getting off the ship and as a carnival excursion we were the first ones off. Others had to wait. Our tour was through Carnival but the tour company was H20 Terra Ltd. My son is 6 and our guide was Lucio ( think that is right), he was wonderful. We were not even off the boat yet and he already had a shark laying in his arms. He was super informative, and answered all of my sons questions. We saw sharks, rays, starfish, coral, a moray eel, etc, etc. He also took us to feed the tarpon, and we were blessed to see a pod of dolphins on the way back. I highly recommend using your own snorkel gear, and taking extra sunscreen. My son wore a rash guard when out of the water along with sunscreen, and I just kept applying sunscreen (biodegradable type), and we were fine. Also the rum punch on the way back was yummy.

Is this the excursion that you went on through Carnival? http://www.carnival.com/shore-excursions/belize/shark-rays-and-island-getaway-509071

  2. My mom and I stayed at the Days Inn there pre cruise. The room was huge and had balconies overlooking the beach. We were able to keep out car there while on the cruise and have there shuttle take us to the cruise port for I think $25.

Is this the one she stayed at Days Inn & Suites Galveston West/Seawall? I am debating between this one and Inn at the Waterpark.

  3. I agree with the previous poster, Galveston Park N Cruise .com is the easiest place to park IF you don't mind shlepping your own bags. It is directly across the street from the terminal and is the closest place to park. They have golf carts that will take you from your vehicle to the entrance with your bags (which isn't very far), but they can't drive the golf carts on the city streets, so you have to walk across the street (has a stop light and cross walk - very safe) with your bags. They offer inside and outside parking and are reliable and safe. We stopped parking at the other places 5 years ago and use this parking lot exclusively. Of course, you can drive to the terminal first and drop your bags with a porter and then go park and you can cross the street without bags.

Sorry, I can not help on the parking lots you named except to say they are much further away and do require a shuttle to get to and from the ship which they provide. Good luck and enjoy your cruise!

Is the parking garage that has the walkway over road?

  4. Who has pictures of rooms either on Upper or Empress? Have never stayed in a forward cabin, is there a lot of movement?

Price would only be $40 more to stay in one of these versus regular interior. Trying to decide is this is something I want to try.

Thanks for any help or advice in this decision.

We are booked on one of these cruises that itinerary was changed and had already booked our excursions. I sent an email inquiring about our excursions being rescheduled last Sunday (Feb 23rd) when we found out about the change and received this reply the next morning.

Thank you for getting in touch with the Shore Excursion Department.

The cruise manager will update in the near future once the tour operators have rescheduled their tours. Please check your cruise manager again in a week.

We value your business and appreciate this opportunity to assist.

I have still been checking everyday. Hopefully they will update soon.

  6. I'm sailing on the Magic June 1,2014. Last week there where tons of choices. Today when I went to choose there is nothing listed. Why would they pull them? I wouldn't think they'd be sold out already. On my last cruise in 2010 we didn't even book Shore Excursions until on board. Any insight as to what happened.

If this is one of the cruises that had itinerary change then it is because shore excursions is having to reschedule all the excursions and do not have them ready to put back up.

  7. Thanks! I will watch it like a hawk and give them a few days, to see how it turns out.

I emailed Shore Excursions yesterday after I found itinerary change for our Dream cruise and this was reply that I received this morning....

  8. DH and I had a cove on the Dream December 2012 and will again in May. We loved the cove balcony. Close to the water and private. Just remember on the Dream, deck 5 goes completely around the ship and it is possible for people on that deck 5 to see in the upper balconies, especially on the sides where the deck is wider and the hot tubs.

  9. Hello,

I was approved on Monday for the lower price guarentee for an excursion in Grand Cayman. I'm wondering if I should see the OBC on my Carnival docs yet? I don't, and am thinking I should.

I would ask Carnival, but I'm quite frustrated with them right now. I submitted another claim for an excursion in Cozumel and they replied saying it was duplicate. I replied saying that the other one was for Grand Cayman and they replied saying that they cannot search for specific emails. I then replied saying that I'm concerned that this one is now lost due to them saying it's a duplicate, yet they just keep coming back saying they can't search for emails (even though the entire email string was attached). Sigh! I just resubmitted it because I'm sure they denied it without really looking at it. End of rant...

Anyways, any help re the OBC appearing is appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Scott

Which excursion in Grand Cayman were you able to get price guarantee?

  10. I LOVED my FTTF....

I was on the Dream in Nov..

It was the launch of the FTTF for the Dream...I would never hesitate to purchase it again.. I have purchased it for 4 cabins for my Dream cruise again in April..

We walked on to the ship... into our cabins...dumped off our bags... and went up to the Lido without ever stopping or sitting down for a min.

The only snag was that one bag went for an explore on its own.. and didnt show up until dinner!!

I got a call from customer service on my last day on the ship inquiring about the service... I explained my only problem was a late bag showing up.. they refunded the cost of the FTTF!!

I will be traveling with the family, and my MIL who requires a wheelchair.... it was the best $200 that I could have ever spent.

What time did you get to the port? How did the debarkation work with it?

    Thanks
