  1. Last cruise I read that you were allowed to bring a 12 pack of water/soda.   I brought a six pack of Diet Pepsi and another 6 pack of flavored water.  I was called down they made me open the bag.  Once they saw what it was they let me go.  I didn’t read that you had to carry it on.  I had the drink package but I knew they wouldn’t have what I like to drink before I go to bed

  3. Just wanted to share:

After almost 1 year of booking the Grandeur, I checked EVERY SINGLE DAY (sometimes twice a day) for an accessible cabin to open up. Knowing it would never happen, as the Grandeur has very few of them.

This morning at 4am, I check and OMG....one is available! Tried calling the 1-800 number and get a recording to call back at 9am. :(:o I have FIVE hours of sweating it out, praying no one would book it on the website.

9am, on the dot, I call. Keep in mind, this is a lateral move. The man I dealt with, tried charging me $561 additional (today's price)....ummmm NO, I am not upgrading, I am just changing cabins. After much ado, I asked to speak to a supervisor. Of course I was right.

I am just sooooo happy my husband doesn't have to "break down" my scooter every time we go in and out of my cabin and that there is more room for me to park it!!!!

Moral of the story? Never give up! :D

Congratulations. I know the feeling, I have to book 18 months in advance to get a H/C cabin.

  4. On the other hand, staying in port late they serve less dinners and people use their booze packages less. But as the other poster mentioned, perhaps this has to do with keeping the port open. Majesty by her self doesn't bring the passengers that a 4 or ship day does. (Come to think of it, time to see who is in port with us!) <Looks like us and Enchantment. I've never seen her in person.

Looking at the schedule change, the amount of dinners changed should be minimal. So the the change in hours in port (less expense for the cruise line). And more hours for the shops and casino to be open (more income for the cruise line Seems like a no brained for the cruise line

  5. We also just got off this cruise. Just a couple of notes,

Not all Northeners are rude Chucktownsteve ( the war is over! We all lost). Talking to one of the officers this cruise and the one previous were the highest booked cruises on the Summit this year. Even though it was "overbooked". I did not see an over Abundance of kids which I was expecting. I was riding a colbolt blue scooter and met many people that assisted me with the elevators etc.

Cruisertimesthree we were right over your cabin in room 7212, we saw you on your balcony a couple of times at the table and wanted to yell down but thought it might be rude.

We were at the port at 10:45 and on the ship by 11:05. Luggage was in our room by 1:15. Getting off the ship was no problem but the delay was with customs.

Overall we thought it was a great cruise.

  6. FYI - Eddy Jenkins mentioned tonight that this is his last week onboard the Summit. He's being transferred to another ship but I can't remember which one.

He did not mention who will be taking his place.

  7. 6 of us did Coco Reef this past week. It was beautiful. The private minibus took us there for $9pp. He said he'd pick us up when we wanted and was there on time. He even said 'no charge' for the 3 kids on the way back. We used him the next day also for HSB, $7pp, one kid free. If you have kids watch them carefully. There were waves and the tide was coming in. It was a lot of fun. The sand was great for castles (we brought buckets & shovels). Lunch from the patio had an awesome view and lots of shade. Then we used their pool. It was a great day.

I noted that you said private minibus. Did you contact them at the pier or make arrangements in advance?

    Thank you in advance.
