Carnival always puts holds on your CC account. Last cruise there was a $300 hold put on our account 10 hours before we got on the ship to leave
A $300 hold would have seemed normal to me. I was concerned because it was 4 uneven totals, none of which total to my final invoice.
I am sure it will be resolved.

Cruises are just like hotels. Charges are authorized on the card that eventually fall off. I don't know why this is still so shocking to some people.
If it's pending. It's pending. Doesn't mean it's posted, so there's not a need to think they've taken money
Probably because whenever I have stayed at a hotel it is an even amount that I am told about. Not random charges. Like I said I have NEVER done anything besides a cash account and when they added my card there was no mention of a hold. I will wait to see if it posts before I call. I checked here because maybe there are some people here who like to help and give insight.

The same thing happened on my last cruise. The best way to explain it is once your card is linked to your account Carnival randomly places holds on your card in the amount you have purchased on your S&S card. Once you bill is paid (usally about 24-48 hrs) the holds are released and the actual amount is posted to your account. Carnival can call your bank to have the funds released if it takes longer than that. I really don't like how they do that. But I am sure they have been burned before. Once again the few make it difficult for the majority of us.Are the posted or pending transactions???
Pending - then I'm 99% sure its a temporary hold on the account that will drop off in the next day or so - expect the final one for the "final" amount. If they are showing as posted transactions then that's a different story.
Makes me feel better - they are pending. I will wait for them to clear before I call Carnival. Very frustrating. I will use cash in the future for sure.
Thanks for all of your help! Hopefully this is the case and I can go back to planning my next Carnival cruise:cool:

Could it be gratuities? I wouldn't know because I always prepay mine.
Those were taken off 2/5- usually they are done pretty early in the cruise
Sometimes the "authorize" that days charges each night and it puts a hold on the card, after a few days the auth hold falls off and the final purchases are put through as a sale. The last couple charges are pretty close to the final $141 amount. Only off by $10 I thinkThat would be nice and hopefully so. I would hate to have to fight with them over this. We had such a great cruise.

Did you purchase anything the last morning?
Pictures? videos? drinks?
Nope. We had an 11 am flight so we were up and out of there by 730. I didnt even know you could buy drinks the final morning. We didnt buy anything in the shops the final day and didnt purchase any photos the whole cruise.

We just got back saturday and have $272 of charges in my bank acct currently. We had our final bill slipped under our door from midnight of $114. I now have 4 separate charges for $272- the highest at $171 and some change seems legit as it is our original bill total along with another charge of $26. I know we had a couple drinks around the time the bill was printed so maybe they were missed but there is no way that the other three charges at about $135 or so are right. We had a cash account all week until thursday night and still had cash on our account. no way its right. of course guest services is closed now but i will call first thing tomorrow and have them produce what the charges are for.

We always go to guest services the last nite and get a print out to make sure
everything is correct.
I have my print out that they provided from the final night and it is correct- minus a few drinks we had when we were headed to bed.

We got back from a wonderful cruise on Saturday. I checked my bank account and noticed there were 4 charges from Carnival. We had a cash account on board but on thursday we added a card to our account to finalize everything because we had to debark early to make our flight. Our final bill was slipped under our door at 6 am totaling $114.71 to be charged to the card.
I now have 4 charges totaling $272.87 We were on top of our account during the week since it was cash and there is no way we racked up these additional charges. The first charge is $141.46, 26.75, 47.53, 57.18. If you add our bill total and $26.75 you get $141.46 ( one of the charges) so I am sure that the 141 amount is correct. It is possible we spent another $26 after the bill was ran. It is time stamped at 12:17 and we were out til about then. However I am not sure about the other charges totaling almost $110.
I called guest services but they are closed until tomorrow. I want to make sure the charges they have are legit. I am quite disappointed seeing as we had such a great cruise and now have to deal with this fuss. I should have just added more cash the night before debarking but figured this was the easiest. I will go back to 100% cash accounts in the future.

Did you receive this snail mail or email??

Those are for 2015. The OP ask about 2016. Not all of the 2015 ones are out yet.
Thank you. For some reason when I was reading it spring/ summer seemed much closer than the two years away it is:p I was thinking to myself how weird it was because some people like to book a year or so in advance but obviously thats a much larger gap:D

i debarked this saturday and received it last night (sunday)

Those will be out this spring. Pride cruises are out but everything else is being announced later.

We were getting on the Victory as you were getting off. We had great service, and for the most part everything was clean. The ship is old and is showing some wear but like others mentioned I am on vacation, not worrying about that. The ship is our favorite and we will be sailing her again in the future. We will most likely wait until after her dry dock next spring. Glad you had a good cruise. We did as well.
We are also from NOVA and came home to such nasty cold weather. I was tempted to turn back around and book another cruise. I dont think work would appreciate it that....

Just back from GT this weekend and it has become our favorite port. We prefer 7 days although only our first was. We always have interior rooms so balconies wouldnt matter to us.
-
Favorite is the Victory- very easy to navigate and I like the tiered seating on the Lido. I dont have a least favorite as the Destiny and Glory were pretty similar.

I know they say the life vests are required but I am not sure if it is enforced. We went to Barefoot beach and there were quite a few snorkelers out there but if you go to the snorkel shack they will direct you to where you can find some cool sunken ships and cannons

Just back from LSC this weekend. AMAZING. I read all4funs review before we went and did barefoot beach and was not disappointed. The tide was low when we got there so I walked out a couple hundred yards and got to see some cool stuff. Your kids will love it. I will try to get some pics posted this week but you can read her review like she mentioned.

Visited for the first time last week and had a great time. We stayed at the beach at the port and hung out at Margaritaville as well. Both were nice but the beach was rocky. We walked down to Jacks Shack but didnt stay. The beach seemed nicer as you walked down towards that end.
-
Margaritaville offered free wifi but we didnt realize until too late into the day. Everyone must have been using it because it wouldnt work.
-
We just returned from a cruise with a stop at GT and it is one of our favorite ports thus far. The beach at the port was fine but as others mentioned very rocky. Margaritaville was a lot of fun. We walked down to Jacks Shack but didnt stay just wanted to take some pics of the beach down that way.

Pride itineraries were released during the announcement that she would be moving back to Baltimore. I believe JH said all others will be out in the spring.
-
just off the victory and they had them for sale, still $5. i also have looked at the ones at costco and will be picking a set up for our next trip
-
Last time we cruised the Victory, we wished it had a steakhouse. We would have eaten there every night. The service and food quality had taken a dive on that ship.
Service was slow in the ATD section if we chose to eat earlier than 7 but the food was great. I would say better than our last cruise. We did wish there was a steak house as well. Maybe they will add during dry dock

i just got a nikon coolpix l820 that we used last week and liked. It was 200 but i did see the red colored one at target a couple weeks back for 169. The camera was easy to use and had some cool settings to play around with

I watched flights from Dulles to MIA for our cruise last week and they stayed consistenly the same for 3 months, although still more expensive than we were used to paying to fly to FLA. I booked at the end of December and a couple weeks later they went up.
