  1. They did remove the restrictions on the Beverage Packages from what they initially stated in their specific Terms and Conditions when they were first made available. Either the cruise line agents didn't get the change or myVegas was in error in changing the terms. With any sort of logic most of the cruise rewards are useless since just about everyone takes advantage of one sort of discount, special, or promo on booking their cruise fare.

  2. We booked a RFS on one of the "select" cruises using the 50% off discount. The bill was calculated showing 50% of the rate for each person. Note that the discount is off of FULL FARE, not necessarily the price being displayed on the web site.

Per a myVegas Q&A session last week it was said that they would be releasing new cruise rewards in the near future so there may be some new options appearing shortly.

Also, the cabin availability can change every day on the select cruises. With the current promotion of Buy One Get One Half Off, the 35% discount is in reality only a 10% discount off of full fare. The 50% off discount, especially on a more expensive cabin, can be a good deal if it is the cruise you want.

  3. Does anyone know if I use a $300 onboard credit if I can combine with my C&A discount? thanks :)

From the current Terms & Conditions for the OBC Rewards: "OBC is combinable with standard/full fare rates and restricted rates (for example, Seniors, Reisdents, Military, police/fire).

OBC is not combinable with any other offer or promotion, including, but not limited to, Interline, Travel Agent, Travel Agent Friends and Family, weekly Sales Events, net Rates, Crown & Anchor Discounts, Shareholder Benefits or Next Cruise offers, promotions, or benefits."

  4. I just contacted the number on the link which goes right to RCI. I was confused because I checked the price on the same sailing on the 50% off myVegas bonus buy and just booking through RCI. The price was the exact same. They informed me that the 50% & 35% off cruise fare is only on full price cruises. So there is no savings at all.

I asked him if I would be better off using a 100.00 OBC or the drink package. after 15 minutes on hold he was sorry to say that it cannot be combined with any discounted fare.

So the cruise is the same price with 50% off as RCI offers it but a 100.00 OBC cannot be added to a sale fare. I would have to book a full price fare and they be able to use only one promotion. ie 50 % off or 100.00 OBC Either way it is cheaper to just book without the myvegas points.

It sounds like a great offer and I would have been able to use it. But bottom line there is no benefit that he could give me unless I wanted to up my cruise to full fare.

The cruises I looked at on the myVegas select cruises have the Buy One Get One 50% off but the 50% off is only the 2nd person. When I booked mine using the 50% off myVegas discount, the total for the cruise was an additional 25% off of that fare. Received email confirmation showing 50% (25% lower than the current fare shown on the site). You need to make sure the booking agent plugs in the RCCL promotion code to show the discount. Not the myVegas redemption number but the promo code shown on the email. Full fare would be the 1st person price shown times 2, so not sure where they are figuring the price shown as being 50% off of full fare.

  5. Listen carefully, you'll hear the sound of a bubble bursting and my tears dripping onto the floor :(

Just saw this morning after the new load on the game that the Cruise % off discounts as well as the drink package discounts are showing as REFUNDABLE up to 90 days for return of LPs. Takes some of the risk out of purchasing them.

Also, the restriction on use has changed and is no longer showing that the drink packages can only be used on standard/restricted fares but still shows new individual bookings.

Don't see why they had to make these rewards so confusing from the start. Guess they found that nobody was able to use them in the REAL world.

  6. Thanks. When I read the description for drink package it says 'any ship, any sailing. must be redeemed 90 days after purchase. Detailed information on how to redeem your award will be provided after you made your purchase.'

So, nothing about new bookings, unless there is some fine print in the 'how to redeem' section that I won't be able to see until after I purchase, which is then too late to do anything about it. But I'm hoping all that's about is what number to call or something.

The Ultimate drink package is (at the time I wrote this) available for purchase so I was able to see the 2nd page of the Terms: "Reward is applicable to new individual bookings only and is subject to verification. Booking must be made a minimum of 30 days prior to departure." Same NONREFUNDABLE terms after using your LPs to obtain the reward.

  7. The only discount I have on mine is a Resident one, so I'm at least still in the running as far as that goes. So if I call and am denied, then take the redemption paper with me and am still denied, did I lose out on thousands of LPs or can it be returned/refunded?

Why can't anything be easy? LOL

Concerning refunds: Just read the Terms on the less expensive drink package and would guess the more expensive one has the same: This reward is non-refundable after purchase. No loyalty point refunds will be provided once you have confirmed your purchase of this reward (meaning when you hit the CONFIRM link on the reward - not when you actual redeem it with the cruise line).

Refunds were being made on a case-by-case basis by myVegas support based upon when you made the purchase (such as early purchasers before the Terms & Conditions were fully available).

  8. Sounds great, congrats. What ship/itinerary?

I'm still trying to wrap my head around the rules. I totally get it for the discount rate, but what still seems uncertain is the other stuff. Only thing I'd like (based on my meager LPs) would be either a drink package or OBC. All I want to know is if I can use one of those on a cruise I already have booked in Nov.

I have heard many different reports about reward redemptions. I think right now there is still much confusion on the part of the cruise line agents in understanding the rules but they should have been given all the information to start. Part of the Terms indicate that the rewards are only available for NEW BOOKINGS. The OBC rules are not available for any discounted cruise rate, so it is just about a worthless option. Here are some of the Terms for the OBC: OBC IS combinable with standard/full fare rates and restricted rates (for example, Seniors, Residents, Military, police/fire). OBC is not combinable with ANY OTHER offer or promotion but not limited to.... I have been reading where players trying to redeem the drink credits are being denied because the agents are stating that they to cannot be combined with another promotion or discounted fare but the Drink Rewards Terms do not have that same restriction.

  9. So if I follow you, the 35% off applies to current posted rates if no special WOW or otherwise? (not following the 10% savings part .. maybe a deal I am not seeing?)

I get that the 50% has to be realized not to apply to the current special for 2nd passenger discount as it would not apply. And more specifically I realize now that the 50% is select sailings and ships and the lower ones are any through 2015,. The select is pretty limited I see and only go out as far as March 2015 and most being Jan 2015 and sooner.

Sorry my typing left off part of the word. Should read "only 10%" rather than "on 10%". So, if you used the 35% coupon on a 2015 cruise and the cruise was already discounted 25% (such as the discount for a 2nd passenger), then the true savings is only going to amount to 10%. Makes it less worthwhile to spend so many LPs. The "select cruises"listed are the only current cruises where the 40%, 50%, and companion reward discounts are applicable.

  10. We booked the 50% discount rate and happy with the purchase. The larger cabin reserved equals a higher dollar discount for a greater savings. Booked an aft RFS for about $3800 (total for 2 persons) for a 10-day cruise.

  11. Please read that the LPs are not refundable once you select the reward. The 35% discount is good for cruises through 2015 but the 40%, 50% and companion are only on "select cruises" listed on the website above. If or when they add more is anyone's guess. Also the discount is off the full rate, not the currently published rate. Current rates show a 25% discount (50% for the 2nd person and that equals 25% of total). So, a 50% discount is 25% off of those rates. The 35% is on a 10% savings off of the already discounted prices. Note also that the other OBC and Drink rewards cannot be combined with any of the discounted fares.

  12. I purchased awards from the beginning day of this promotion and find so far the % off awards are useless. The 40 and 50 percent off awards are for a very limited number of cruises (33) within the next six months or so and many of the cabin categories are sold out or definitely least desirable cabins. I am attempting to call today to see what the real discount is on the 35% off rate since others on myVegas forums posted that the rate they were given was 35% off the full (normal) rate and not the currently published rate on line such as the 1st traveler is full fare and the 2nd travels at 1/2 price. Will hopefully get an answer this morning.

  13. I guess food quality and service are based upon expectations and past experiences. Unlike any other cruises we have been on we never looked forward to any meals on the Pride. We did not care for the buffet setup at all. The food was bland and selections limited. The Pizza was usually soggy. Not once in the week did we find the Hamburger Grill station open. Salad bar was okay. Dessert selections and quality were terrible. On several days every single coffee dispenser was empty and often there was no ice available. One evening we were in the MDR for 2 1/2 hours from time sitting to competing our meal due to poor service and even there the food was just okay. Again, just our opinion.
