check this recent thread-

I just complete the top info on the computer then print-check off the boxes & sign when we get there. just like having everything with me. Also like to make sure I have my own pen- as someone else noted -those pens/pencils can be a good source of germs. (not just on ships but anywhere)

We're on the OOS 3/15/14 & was able to book entertainment back in Dec.
-
thanks this was real helpful!
-
so I just figured I'd google my OAS 3/15/14 cruise to see- looks like there is a dentistry continuing ed group on our cruise as well as an Emergency Medicine group. Guess the EOS could have used them on their last cruise.
-
We were also on this cruise and did not get sick. The crew and the Captain were sensational ! They worked so hard to keep us as happy as they could. We enjoyed the cruise and did what we wanted too. Would we go back on the ship?
You bet we will. We are presently in an upscale Hotel in New York City with a whole bus load of people who were on the cruise compliments of rcl . Tomorrow we revised the ship for the second leg of our back to back cruise. We are excited that we will be getting a chance to see a broadway show tonight. This has added to our cruise experience. I am certainly loyal to royal since I totally feel that they are loyal to their customers.
Glad you did not get sick & actually get a chance to see NYC as part of your cruise- as well as part of the Super Bowl experience. With that said just curious if you were given instructions to clean any of your belongings before returning to the ship tomorrow?
Have fun tonight at the play- hope you are seeing a good one & enjoy the rest of your cruise.

quick question for those who have been on the Western tour- looking to buy a bead for my bracelet - doesn't have to be "P" but like to get something to remember the cruise- which port is the "best" for buying silver. know there isn't big discounts on the P brand but heard silver is still cheaper. thanks

wonder if the B2B passengers were given instructions re cleaning their belongings before returning to the ship? If you google ship cleaning protocols- you can find several documents from 2007 & later that address how the ship is cleaned including even a fogging (not sure that is being done now) & it does seem like a full replacement of items in each room as well as a full cleaning. Would think those who were on the first leg of this -should do a full cleaning of their items that were on the ship. Don't recall how long the virus lasts on surfaces.
not sure if I saw that anyone had posted this link to the cdc's info-
Best wishes to those sailing this week- on any ship it's the time of year when viruses are all over the place.
PS Didn't the Summit have an recent outbreak & they sailed out our of Bayone NJ as well - it may be a Jersey thing (sorry I am a NYer & couldn't resist. ) One needs to keep their sense of humor at times like this.
Any yes I was on the GOS's fire cruise so I've experienced an not so fun cruise. Was also on a HAL cruise in 2006- where we had a mild outbreak- of noro- many activities were halted & the sanitizer was free flowing as well as elbow bumps.
-
barrier is usually another word for surface. All surfaces on/in the ship will be sterilized. Rooms etc should be cleaned before anything is brought back into the room. (retired RN here)
-
We were on the GOS fire last May 2013 & they actually gave us double points for our shortened cruise. We were also given a FC for 100% of what we paid plus a full refund.
-
I would suggest calling and discussing special needs- You could find out if you could check in with medical a few times during the trip. Even if it costs a few bucks- it would be better then ending up hospitalized.

poster TX-sweatpea has posted a few documents of hints & info on the Oasis see post 162 on this page-- there are several pages of info.

We're on the Oasis on Mar 15- thoroughly enjoyed your review and can't wait. We have a Boardwalk Balcony on the 11th floor. Our last RCL was the GOS 5/24/13- hoping this cruise has a little less excitement.

checked today (had heard from a rep that they received a new revision of the website) and it has the updated packages- can't access it off the reservation page but the general dining options page.

also seems you can order it online until you are in the 60 days before window.

We're just booked the Mar 15 2014 Western cruise & per the pre cruiser planner it's scheduled for 3/20- Day 6. Anyone know if you have a drink package can you just buy the non alcohol pkg & still get a drink? Any one this- and is it worth it?

Great review- man after my heart- I over plan every vacation- never mind cruises. Thanks for posting the spreadsheet. After our cruise got cut short- I'm eager to get on another one- figuring had our one emergency- couldn't happen again. Thanks for sharing.
-
thanks for posting- great info. I saw someplace the menu listed the days- Sun-Sat- is it more Day 1- etc so if the cruise starts on Friday- it would be the Sun/day1 menu- sorry know this sounds real simple- newbie here.
Leaving this Friday on GOS

When it comes to sharing a soda package instead of buying one for each person, it really does come down to what your moral code is. For me, I have been taught that stealing is stealing and the amount is not really what matters - it is the deed. So maybe some of you feel that stealing something inexpensive from a huge corporation is an OK thing to do. So where do you draw the line? If it is OK to steal soda, is it OK to add an extra little item from the gift shop? I mean hey - you paid for one souvenir flashlight, why not take two? After all, they only cost $6.
well said!!!!!
