To control and manage your diabetes while on vacation, you need to fit cruising into your lifestyle not your your lifestyle into cruising!
-
You can have type 2 diabetes and still enjoy cruising! It involves more planning! You need to drink drinks lots of water, control your portions, take the stairs when you can and hit the fitness centre on a regular basis!
Happy cruising!

I like to have an omelette, made with green and red peppers, onions, cheese and ham. I also like to have fresh cantaloupe, strawberries, and yogurt for breakfast while on vacation.

We usually book on the ship and then transfer the booking to our TA On our upcoming 11 day cruise we ended up getting an additional two classic nonalcoholic packages for my son ans my niece, which was a bonus, and we were able to keep all our perks we got for booking onboard.

Favorites Islands:
1) Grand Cayman. I enjoyed Stingray City.
2) St. Maarten. It is truly the friendly island and it's a great time watching the planes land at Maho Beach.
3) Barbados. Harrison's Cave is absolutely amazing to behold.
Least Favorite Islands:
While I didn't appreciate the aggressiveness of the vendors at Dunn's River Falls in Jamaica, it wouldn't stop me from going back.
After all, I'm on vacation and on island time.

I'm glad you enjoyed your cruise Arwen! Thank you for posting a review of the Equinox.

It was great to see your perseverance pay off and the fact Celebrity decided to refund your deposit.

If you don't snorkel that shouldn't be an issue. You can just stay on the boat.
My wife and I were also concerned about missing the ship. Don't worry about it. Captain Bob had us back with plenty of time to spare.

The debate has been passionate on both sides. People have strong opinions when it comes to music. So far, we have 41 votes for Yes and 52 votes for No.

Wow! Thank you all for replying to my query...not all answered it directly and sorry I caused a bit of a heated exchange.
I am going to take my prescription from my French GP in French along with the boxes and info sheets, in French too, and enough of my drugs, in their blister packs, to cover the time I am away plus a couple more.
I think this should cover any queries when entering the USA (I am not even in the States for 24 hours either side of our cruise) and the other countries we will be entering.
Thank you all for the advise and passionate debate....Happy Cruising!
Enjoy your vacation and your cruise!

I would recommend the Tuscan Grille. The atmosphere in the Italian steakhouse is excellent, the food is delicious and the view is spectacular!

On board right now. Gastropub was NOT installed.

Transport the prescriptions in their original container and avoid the speculation.
Before going on vacation, ask your pharmacist to prepare a compliance pack for you and then you'll have them in the original container.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection
Prescription medications should be in their original containers with the doctor's prescription printed on the container. It is advised that you travel with no more than personal use quantities, a rule of thumb is no more than a 90 day supply. If your medications or devices are not in their original containers, you must have a copy of your prescription with you or a letter from your doctor. A valid prescription or doctors note is required on all medication entering the U.S.
I have a solution for everyone. Your pharmacist can print out a back panel that he or she would generate for his or her compliance packaging patients. The back panel meets all the legal requirements. It has a prescription number, the name of the medication, when you should take the medication and a description of each medication. Make sure you also include all your vitamins and herbal supplements on the back panel. You can then attach the back panel to your dosett or compliance pack and you can travel with peace of mind.
You should always bring a few extra days of medication in case you are delayed in getting home.
Happy cruising!

You're welcome Flatbush Flyer!

Wrong! Wrong! Wrong! I have never ever taken original bottles with me. I have always carried my pills in pill keepers. Everyone I know has always taken their pills in pill keepers. Nobody that I know takes original pill bottles. Nobody that I know has ever been stopped by any authority figure and asked about the pills in the pill keeper.
Now you should keep a list of all the pills you take so that you take so that if something happens to you and you are taken to a hospital, they will know what pills you take. If you are totally anal, you might even make copies of your prescriptions so that the doctors know that you list is accurate.
It would be interesting but too much of a bother create a poll to see how many CC members take original bottles and how many pill keeper CC members have their pill keeper pills confiscated.
Any responses?

Excellent summary of all the changes and improvements at Celebrity!

Happy Anniversary Celebrity and thank you for helping create outstanding memories and great family vacations! As you look ahead to another 25 years, remember what made you successful and continue to build on it!

While everyone has different tastes,we enjoy the glass blowing shows. It's amazing to watch these artists turn glass into pieces of art before your eyes. I think the hot glass show helps Celebrity differentiate itself from other cruise lines.
Since it isn't on every solstice class ship, you can choose a ship that doesn't have the hot glass show and one that has the Lawn Grille..

The executive chef was a finalist on Hell's Kitchen. :)
My wife is a big fan of Hell's Kitchen and wants to go eat there in March!

We were going to take the Sawgrass Recreation Park airboat tour, but the concierge at the Il Lugano recommended the Everglades Holiday Park airboat tour because it was a full hour tour compared to 30 minutes with all other tours.

I believe if you leave a chair unoccupied for 30 minutes, you should forfeit that chair. I wouldn't remove the items on the chair myself, I would get the pool butler to do it. One of the reasons people may be having trouble finding a chair is when other passengers "reserve" a chair in the sun and a chair in the shade. You should only use one chair! We have always found chairs are more available on the deck above the pool and the solarium.

The same sunset without the reflection
I love the reflection of the sunset in the ship's window and shot of the the sunset!

well I joined this site about 5 months ago, and for the 1st time I am actually here. go figure, I find myself in the pictures, lol. These photos are beautilful, and although I didn't get to view all 32 pages, I did do over half. I am now curious if there is a thread somewhere about the type of cameras being used. Some of these are just astounding! thanks for sharing!
Great picture of the sunset!
