I think all cruise lines are having to cut back on certain things. Last year we cruised with three different lines and I think they all were cutting back but as you say ignore and get on with enjoying the holiday. We are doing Fjords in sept. and South America next Jan. on Balmoral For our golden wedding. We did the Baltic 2013 and I can recommend Alla tours for St Petersburg they were fantastic. Enjoy yourselves. Carolyn

Glad you enjoyed your cruise cool cruiser. We fly out on the 9th February and I a sure we will love it, we love the Braemar, as all of fred's ships. Carolyn

I wear both, and feel comfortable in either. Evening trousers and a nice top are acceptable too. Wear what suits you. Carolyn

Is it just white & red house wines now? Ie no sparkling or rose?
You can get sparkling on AI. I drink it and find it ok. Carolyn

Hi flossie 1, I would think you will have plenty of time. Usually most people are off by 9.00 am. You can ask for priority disembarking at Reception if you wish. We are catching the 10.42 to kings cross, simply because I looked for the cheapest way to get to Thornaby, which is one ticket Dover priory to St Pancras and then another ticket kings cross to thornaby, which halved the price. Look forward to meeting you onboard. Carolyn

As the food in Sindu is cooked for you you can have it as spicy as you wish. The waiter will ask you. You can have a steak with or without sauce. We had a wonderful meal in Sindu last year. Carolyn

Hi Pat, look forward to meeting you on board. We are flying out of Leeds/Bradford. I am sure we will enjoy the cruise. It is our first time with Thomson, so unsure of what to expect. Carolyn

We are going a few weeks after you. I would book one of the days for Ephesus if you like Ruins, this is something else. We went there about ten years ago when we stayed in Turkey, mindblowing! One of the biggest arenas I think it was in the ancient world. Only advice would be to take a hat. It is pretty open and you will catch the sun. Also it is quite a walk, from what I remember the coach drops you at the top and you walk down to the bottom.
Hi, we have already been to Ephesus and did think, like you, that it is mind blowing so it is back to the drawing board. We have been to most of the ports but they are all interesting and we have changed to this cruise from the Best of the Black Sea. I am sure we will enjoy whatever. Carolyn

You can get water by the glass in the bars and water from a container on the deck, also you can get water 24 hrs in the self service coffee/tea area. Hope this helps. Carolyn

Hi, what dates are your cruises, we go 8th Sept Ancient Wonders and 15th Sept the Aegean and Holy Land. Unfortunate about two visits to Kusadasi but never mind just needs a little more studying on what to do there. Carolyn

I agree, I am sure we would all rather be safe and be able to relax and enjoy our holiday. We have already changed from best of the black sea (at a cost) and are now disappointed with the situation in Ashdod but think of the families who live in Israel, women and children dying everyday. We are the lucky ones being able to go on holiday. I say enjoy - whatever the itinerary. Hope to see some of you on board. Carolyn:)

Hi Anyone else on this cruise. We are looking for cruisers to join us in an independent tour to the Dead Sea and Masada. Good reviews for guided tours israel. We want to do this tour on Thursday, 18th Sept. Carolyn:)

Hi Dronnygirl, thanks for your reply, hopefully some other cruisers may be interested in this tour. I am glad you enjoyed it, we have been to Jerusalem and Bethlehem before but didn't visit the dead sea. Looking forward to our first time with Thomsons. Thanks once again, Carolyn and Bob

Hi, this seems to be a very friendly forum for Thomson cruisers. Our first time with Thomson in September and have been trying to get other cruisers to join us on independent tour. I have had no response, do you think I have "roll called" too early. Thanks for any advice, Carolyn

On board at present NO problems with food or service Having a great time
Kathy
Hi Kathy, glad you are enjoying cruise, we are boarding in San Diego. The food on Balmoral last year was good. The food on FO is usually good, with few exceptions. Must admit on our last cruise on Black Watch in October we enjoyed the lunchtimes rather than the evening meal. Who is the entertainer in the Lido lounge? Thanks, Carolyn

I have used this company on a number of occasions and have found them to be efficient and reliable. Carolyn

We are sailing on Braemar in 2015 so I don't think she is going to be sold to India. Bobby:)

Last year we needed a train from Southampton port to railway station and we usually used Southampton Central but it was closed due to work being done. We had to travel to Southampton airport station and checked prices to book. When we saw the price we decided to just get one when leaving the ship. There were plenty and the cost was much cheaper. I am sure there will be plenty waiting when you land in Southampton airport. It only takes about 12 minutes. Hope this helps. Carolyn
