Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. Good afternoon! My family and I are going on an Alaskan Cruise for the first time on the Sapphire Princess in June. I have booked an excursion through Alaska Shore Excursions for our stop in Juneau. We will be doing the Mendenhall Lake Kayaking & Salmon Bake. I would of done it through the cruise line but there aren't enough tickets left for us, plus this is cheaper. My questions are: 1. I think Alaska Shore excursions is a tour consolidator not an independent tour company. Has anyone on here had any issues with excursions they booked through this company? 2. This is our first time booking a tour not through the cruise ship so I am a little concerned about how things will go. The Itinerary says that we will arrive in Juneau at 6:30 am, and our tour starts at 8. Will we have any issues getting off the ship in time to meet up for our excursion? I know when we've done excursions through the cruise line, they had a meeting spot on the cruise ship, then we all debark together. Will we have to wait for the people on the cruises excursions to debark first? How does it work? 3. We have 5 in our family, and the kayaks hold 2. Do the tour companies make sure they have even numbers for these types of excursions? I'm assuming that one of us will have to pair up with a fellow traveler, but what happens if there is an odd number? Would they have a one person kayak? Thanks, Stacey
  2. Our cruise leaves this Sunday, and my adult son is now unable to go due to work. Is it too late to swap him for someone else on our booking?
  3. A couple quick check-in questions: 1. Do I have to upload a photo of me (and everyone in my party) in the check-in area on the RC website? Is it really necessary or can they just take a photo of each of us when we actually check in at the pier on our sailing day? Will it save a ton a time if the photos are already uploaded? 2. Should I print out all of our boarding passes (the multi-page document on the website), or is the set sail pass sufficient? I have added our set sail passes to my apple wallet, so I'm assuming that should be good in regards to that. Should I also print out the set sail passes just in case? Thanks!
  4. Yes, I realize it the meeting time could be prior to docking time, but 2 1/2 hours before?? 15 mins before makes sense... but over 2 hours prior does not make sense to me
  5. I purchased the Zipline/Gumbalimba park excursion through Royal Caribbean for the day we are at Roatan, Honduras. I’m confused right now, because the excursion says it starts at 8:45am. However, the cruise schedule says we don’t dock until 9am. In the app, under services/announcements, it says the ships arrival is 11am, and the gangway will be down at 11:30am. Could the app be wrong?? And if not, will we still be able to do our excursion if we don’t dock til 11? Why would it say the excursion starts at 8:45, if we don’t even be docked til 11? I’m mainly concerned because I’m traveling with 4 teenagers/young adults who do NOT like to get up early, and I’m gonna have hell to pay if I get them up for 8:45am, and it doesn’t start until 11😂
  6. This may be a stupid question, but we've never sailed Royal Caribbean before and we've only sailed a few times. Anyways, how many days is each specific show or act done on each cruise? We are sailing on the Allure in two weeks and I know it has Mamma Mia, an ice show and a couple others I think. Is Mamma Mia (and the other shows) only shown one night per cruise, or on multiple nights? Same question for the comedy acts ( I believe it has a comedy club on the ship).. is there a comedian every night of the cruise or only certain nights? I see that we have to make reservations to go to the shows and comedy club, so I want to know what to expect and how to arrange our reservations when are able to make them. Thank you!
  7. My family is traveling with Royal Caribbean in a couple weeks for the first time. We have only ever been on a Carnival ship before, and have only sailed a few times. Is it worth it to purchase 'The Key"?
