  1. If the cruise is over 6 months out, maybe a TA.

Sometimes the perks are pretty good.

On the other hand some of those travel agencies do charge

a $50 dollar cancellation fee per person. That adds up quick.

I like the freedom of calling the cruise line directly and

not have to wait for the answers.

Our last experience booking with Royal Caribbean was

great, the agent that helped us was super nice and

got us the best rates and a couple of perks.

Plus we have called several times when the price dropped,

dinner reservations, cabin changes, no problem there.

  2. Watching Fox News right now, they are interviewing a

passenger and his daughter by the name Sam Lairson, and

Gabriella. They seem very calm on the interview.

Good to see that. Can't wait to see what everyone on this cruise

have to say. I know it's not easy to stay calm in those

    circumstances.

  3. WOW!!

Watching the evening news and the way

everything looks on the Anthem was scary.

This brings back memories "of "El Farro" Why take a

chance with 6 thousand people it's just crazy. This is

a new ship and it's equipped with the latest technology.

I feel sorry for all the passengers that could not enjoy their vacations.

    Wishing everyone safe travel home.

We have been on Anthem just this past December and it

really made us sad to see what just happened to the ship.

    Just so freaky.

  4. I wouldn't call it "very sad"...

Although I don't like these massive upcharges, can you honestly blame them? If people are willing to pay $1500 for a seat in 270 (on Anthem), why would they think twice about charging that amount? Unfortunately, a business is a business, and if people are willing to pay, there's going to be a charge.

I'm sure there are other areas set aside for those who don't want to pay the upcharges.

Is this the first year that these upcharges have existed on the ships?

Yes first year and sad, pathetic and ridiculous.

We are already paying premium prices for these

holiday cruises. We are booked for next years on

Anthem Christmas and New Years cruise and

we do know how pricey these cruises are. We should not

have to worry about these up charges.

  5. I forgot to mention that we are booked for next year on

Anthem for a Christmas and New Year's cruise.

This particular cruise is very pricey for next year already.

I try not to be negative, but I do not plan on spending anymore

than we have to after final payment.

  6. WOW, really??

I saw you are on Anthem right now. Hope you all are

enjoying your cruise. We were on Anthem the second

week in December and really enjoyed our cruise.

The prices for a New Year's Eve cruise are pretty high,

just can't believe anyone has to pay extra to attend 270's party.

We have been on several Royal Caribbean New Year's Eve cruises and

we have never paid any extra, this most be new.

It looks like Royal is starting nickel and dime too much.

    Sad to say...
