Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. Thank you, that is very helpful, will look more closely at group sizes in future.
  2. Hi there, yes that is the excursion we were on. The times listed were pretty accurate (we had 30 minutes at the stones) but it was a 5-7 minute walk up to the stones and back, which left maybe 15 minutes for photos and walk around and take it in. We found we were consistently running back to the bus on this trip, and felt rushed, which hasn’t happened in the past. I think we feel that some of these sites need/deserve more time, but that said we’ve had an amazing time and have enjoyed most of our shore excursions. Thanks for your feedback! 🙂
  3. Hello, we are on the Regal Princess on a 12-day British Isles with Orkney cruise. We are having a fantastic time! But I wanted to see if it has been others’ experience on Princess that the shore excursions have felt very rushed, and like we don’t have enough time? For example, yesterday in Orkney we had about 10-15 minutes each at the Ring of Brodgar and Cliffs of Yesnaby - which are literally the only things you do on that tour, and deserve much longer. I don’t recall feeling so rushed on other cruises we’ve done (Carnival, Royal Caribbean, Celebrity.) This is our first Princess cruise, so was wondering if this is a Princess thing, or something about this particular region? This has been a really consistent experience this week, so I don’t think it’s random anymore, nor do I think we have changed ourselves from the past. Looking forward to hearing any feedback!
  4. It's been a while since I've been at a tender port, so am wondering how far in advance you need to be back at the cruise port in order to comfortably catch the tenders back to the ship? The ship departs Dublin at 7 p.m. so wasn't sure what time we would need to be back the cruise port.
  5. Thanks for this helpful info! I’m glad everything was easy to find and will look into the Leap pass.
  6. Hi, we are going on a 12-day British Isles Cruise with Orkney Islands on the Regal Princess in August. The Dublin stop (Dun Laoghaire) is a tender port. We were hoping to take the train into the City Centre and explore on our own rather than do a shore excursion (maybe do a hop-on, hop-off bus or a walking tour), but I've seen conflicting information about how far away the Dun Laoghaire train station is from where we would get off the boat. Some sources say it's a 5-minute walk, others say it's 4 miles from the pier and a 20 Euro taxi ride. I think the confusion is because this is a tender stop, and I'm not sure, but it seems like other cruises that stop in Dun Laoghaire may be docked, so not sure if they stop in two different locations. Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks in advance!
