We are going to be on the Harmony of the Seas next month and have heard great things about Brewers Bay. I would love a relaxing beach and one that has turtles is a huge bonus.
How long is the taxi from the port to this beach? Im assuming the port is Charlotte Amalie? And does anyoe know how much a taxi is and if they are easy to find, especailly on the way back?
Thanks

Thanks, that helps clear things up!!

We are thinking of booking a cruise on the Seaside and are wondering about the easy drink package included in the all in plus package.. exactly what drinks (alcoholic) are under 6 bucks. We usually cruise carnival and don't recal any under 7. And if they are over 6 can you pay the difference?

I think you need to stop at the ship's shore excursion desk first. $5 was an okay price. $14 way over priced, unless you have mobile issues and are planning on going back and forth a lot.
I kinda agree with you. 14 bucks is a bit much. And 65 for 2 people gets you chairs, a clamshell and a floaties. Seems high to me

A few years back we stopped at Roatan (via carnival) and we just walked to the chair lift and paid 5 bucks a person to ride it to the beach. Can you still do this? All I see on carnivals website are 65 and 69 dollar excursions that include a chair, umbrella and floaties.. I don't want that. I just a ride over there because I'm lazy and it's hot.

This is awesome! That last photo of the couple in the matching suits, are my good friends. They buy new matching suits for the first elegant night on every cruise! The second elegant night they dress more formally. Its a vacation. Enjoy dinner in MDR and the people watching
Hey, I'm half of that couple!! And yes we dress nice on the 2nd formal night. We just like to have fun on the carnival 'Fun Ships'

Now see I guess that depends on the person. I would use the priority embarkation, tender, guest services line and laundry...And I've seen some platinum gifts I wouldn't turn down.
I'm glad to see I'm not alone!! I'm excited to finally get there.

Enjoy your cruise
Thanks, I will 😀

You can sign in and check, sometimes a room number will magically appear. Other times you won't know until you get to the port. I wouldn't worry, have a great cruise.
I keep checking, so far nothing 🤨

Luggage handlers had a copy of the manifest and did our luggage tags for us. We prefer to book our own cabins for type and location and said we wouldn't do it again. Never say never as the Holland America cruise we are taking in 2 weeks had a mandatory guarantee for our Neptune Suite in order to get the unbelievable casino rate. Made the booking in Nov. and still waiting for our cabin assignment. The Neptune Suites have been sold out for weeks, but still waiting. At least we know we will get the Neptune, but we usually book Neptunes close to the Neptune Lounge for convenience. I know it's hard to wait, but you just have to bite the bullet and concentrate on other things about the cruise. Enjoy!
I'm thinking that is how it's going to go for us.. oh well..

Yep, not expecting anything, if I get a good room I'll be pleasantly surprised.

Not trying to sound negative, but what is well worth it being Platinum? My wife and I have both been Platinum for awhile now and the only benefit we use every cruise is the two for one entries for the slot tournament. I guess the D&P party would be a nice benefit for the free drinks, but we always get Cheers so that negates that benefit. I am not down on Carnival at all, we still cruise on them all the time because we have always had a great time on whatever ship we have been on. But I definitely don’t cruise on Carnival because of any great benefits associated with being Platinum.
Well, I am excited to be platinum, we don't get drink packages so a few free drinks are nice and priority boarding is always nice. But I know the benefits aren't all that spectacular.. still I'll be happy to be there ! 😁

Despite what the naysayers are saying, we often get a Gty OV. Invariably, we'll be somewhere 'fine' down on Riviera deck. All good.
That said, I likely wouldn't do a Balc guaranty. Too many risky cabins.
Well that's good to hear!!

How do you feel about 3 am pots dropped on the floor over your head? What about 7 am stewards pulling their carts out?

Does your boarding pass have TBD. We once did this and did not find out our cabin until in check in line. Good luck hope it works out as Platinum is well worth it
It does say that. But I already completed the online check-in...
Even if we get a lousy cabin, it's a cruise, how bad can it be
-
Well, this is an experience.. I'll learn from this to never do it again
-
I'm definitely an OCD type cruiser.. this will definitely be my first and last time doing this.
I make a spreadsheet with my packng list and have all my paperwork printed out weeks before a cruise. This is going to drive me crazy!!

On Jan 5th I booked a last minute cruise for me and the hubby. We have one booked for April and we were 4 days short of hitting platinum so we decided to book one just to get there.
I booked a interior cabin cuz we are going on the cheap.. I even said hey, let them pick the room...
So now my cruise is in 10 days and I still haven't been assigned a room.. is this unusual?? The cruise is sold out, has been for almost a week. So why no cabin assignment.
I want to print out my luggage tags and boarding passes.
My husband said I should call them because the longer I wait the more of a chance I'll get a really bad room or we will get there and they will send us home.
I was thinking of waiting and hoping for a miracle upgrade.
What is your opinion, should I call or wait?
-
I'll be able to report firsthand in 10 days.
Please do let us know, I sail in September and booked a spa balcony specifically for the thalassotherapy pool.
And enjoy your cruise!!!!!

Be sure to see Grease, and don't miss Columbus the musical. We almost didn't go to Columbus, and now believe it to be one of the best shows at sea.
Oh how we loved Harmony.
Get internet package online when it is in sale. (30% off)
Harmony is very hi tech.
I will keep looking for that sale.
I hope to see all the shows :D

The harmony of the seas will knock your socks off. Especially compared to carnival sunshine
Sent from my iPhone using Forums
I sailed the sunshine before it was the sunshine, it was the destiny. I don't like the way it feels chopped up, and they didn't change that. So I wasn't thrilled with the idea of going on it.

We converted to RC after 5 Carnival cruises and we have never gone back...not that we had any complaints w/ Carnival, RC is just offers so much more and I love the ambiance with RC. We said Harmony in April, this will be our 6th cruise on the Oasis class. We prefer the larger ships.
Enjoy and happy sailing.
We are sailing April 7th. I've been on 11 carnival cruises 2 RC. There are many things I love about carnival and a few I didn't love about RC . But I'm gonna enjoy this cruise
-
After you cruise I would love to hear your thoughts comparing the two cruise lines.
Keith
I may do that..I've been a loyal carnival cruiser for a while but they have definitely slipped on their quality and service over the last few years. The prices havent gone down, just up but the quality has, which is why when we saw a cruise on this huge new ship as the same price as the carnival sunshine we jumped at it

You may want to book the diving show in the Aqua Theater early in your cruise. This show is susceptible to weather; so if your show gets cancelled, there will be plenty of time to reschedule.
I never thought of that!, thanks for the tip
-
Do not forget to book all your shows once you have made final payment.
I shall sit down this weekend and figure that out.. seems like I need a calendar to figure this all out

Keep checking your Cruise Planner for promos on the internet.
Oh thanks for the tip
