  1. I think the OP wants to live in a socialistic society or world. Wake up and look around. It doesn’t work.

    Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅

Exactly right. Ever notice that these leftist Social Justice Warriors start out arguments by labelling people without any concrete evidence. Bigot, Racist, Homophobe, or "Elitist" etc

  2. Dear OP

I might be taking a B2B cruise on Infinity where I book an OV cabin. If you are on the same cruises I feel that you should give me complete access to your balcony since I don't want to fight the chair hogs. I can't tolerate all the "Elitists" who just don't want us lowly OV passengers to enjoy their balcony.

One's that use words such as "Elitists" remind me of Social Justice Warriors. Dangerous people with a very narrow scope that have not known hardship but want to find a cause.

  3. Machines on the ship are very tight. But agree it's entertainment. I have 3 sayings going through my head as I am losing money in the casino:

Winners know how to lose...don't get discouraged

The less you bet the more you lose when you win...play big!

You are only one spin away from getting it all back...don't get discouraged

Of course this doesn't work or I would be rich. But I have had a lot of fun. Most of the time it's not about winning. It's about being able to maintain and having a good time

  4. It's probably not specific to Celebrity, but I'll use them as the example: if you pay for a certain category of room you get access to restaurants or lounges that are off limits to the other passengers.

Does this rub anyone else the wrong way?

I have no problem with paying more for a room or a meal and getting a better room/meal....but getting the privilege of not having to share a space with your fellow passengers bugs me a little. Am I the only one?

I may eat in a different restaurant or have other amenities (that I paid for) But to say Elitist ? I share space with my fellow passengers...it's called the ship! If I have a premium drink package and you have a Classic package am I an elitist?

There are many poor, hard working people that would love to be in your shoes on a beautiful cruise ship. But they can't. afford it. To them you are an Elitist! Don't let things like this "bug" you. Your glass is half full not half empty. You are complaining that your glass is not made out of fine crystal!

  5. Agree with the other posters, it's disgusting to see a Carnival crew member assault a man down. The lack of professionalism should cost him his job.

It's also disgusting that the security guards prioritized the confiscation of mobile phones over preventing further injury.

As an aside, on Celebrity I've noted before a lot of their security staff are tiny. I've wondered how much use they'd be in a similar event. Very little I expect. That said, I wouldn't really expect to see scenes like that on X just yet.

Think you should have no worries about "tiny" security staff. Bruce Lee is also tiny. I'd want him on my side! I'm sure these small people are capable in ways that we are not aware .

  6. Thank you all for your input. I will check on board with host on what may be best on this cruise. As I said we may not be spending as much $$ as in a regular casino (we are paying in CDN $ so it's @ $4,000 so it's significant to us) but just trying to figure out how to have a good time and recoup some of our losses thru comps. On land we always seem to lose enough to have everything comped (rooms, food, transportation etc) . Of course there are winning times. That's why you go back!

My 3 pieces of advice I always give to my Wife when she is down on the slots:

    1) Winners know how to lose

    2)Bet max

    3) You are only one spin away from getting it all back

    Good Luck to you all!

  7. Going on Reflection in March. My Wife and I like to spend some time in casino after supper. From previous experiences we know the slots are very tight so it's all about entertainment and don't spend like we do at our land casinos. Probably will spend $2,000 -$3000 (thru put)... It's not like a high roller but would like to maximize $$ spent for points and comps (if possible). Questions:

    1) How is the best way to do this. I have read that if you put $$ up front they will give you a percentage in free play. Is this still available? How do I do this?

    2) Can my wife and I play on the same card to maximize our points?

    3) Was planning on talking to casino host about what to do but after reading on here they may not be the friendliest or most helpful people you would want to deal with. Would it help if I asked the host in Michael's club to hook me up with a casino person?

We love casinos but I'm still trying to figure out the psychology of having fun and losing money at the same time. Maybe it has something to do with the free (?) cocktails.

  8. For first timer .Be aware of Noro Virus. Do not touch hand rails, elevator buttons (knuckles only) do dot shake hands (fist bumps especially with ppl in wheel chairs). Take good hand sanitizer (research Zoonos 24 hour protection or CVS) for Noro must contain BZK ( just google it). Wipe down plane arm rests hotel and room with Clorox wipes. I am not a germaphobe but when I have spent a lot of money on a holiday I try to minimize chances of getting sick. Sorry this message sounds like a downer but better be safe than sorry. Enjoy!

  9. I just want to caution here, I'm no authority on how effective this relatively new product is, nor I'm guessing is "ronews". So, with that disclaimer, CVS carries several different hand sanitizers, the one we're talking about here is a foam hand sanitizer that looks like a cylindrical shaped pump, and supposedly provides a 24-hour barrier against all kinds of germs. I see its $6.99 at Amazon, and the CVS version is their "Advanced Antiseptic Hand Sanitizer" that I see is $5.99 at the store or $4.19 right now online. I'm not in the US right now, so can't go to CVS and compare and make sure its the very same product. Its up to you to check it out. Maybe ask the pharmacist. Good luck!

You are right Sammy. I am no expert. Just thought it looked interesting and willing to try anything not to get sick. while on vacation. I checked Zoono site and they said they sell it under a private label "Germfree 24" at CVS Checked CVS site and they do not show any product by that name. The Advanced Hand Sanitizer looks like that may be it. Please post if you have anymore information

  10. Thanks very much! Will buy some when we head down to Florida in a few weeks. I understand CVS carries it under their house brand label.

The house brand at CVC is called Germfree 24. Looks to be the same stuff according to Zoono site (says private brand) Of course the 24 is for hours of germ free

  11. The only problem with casino bar is you only get the game the ship is showing that day. May not be the one you want to watch. Last cruise on a Sunday a bunch of New England Patriot (boo!) fans were in casino to watch their team. It wasn't on so they all headed up to the computer lounge to stream the game. Not my idea of a good time. More fun with all the fans in the casino

  12. Everyone has heard...touch elevator buttons with knuckle...don't touch hand rails etc...wash hands. But hygiene after going to washroom...a lot of kids on board is bad we were all kids who washed there hands? I never shake hands on the cruise. Fist bump! But now I am going to raise an issue that may be sensitive to some people. I avoid contacting people in wheel chairs. It may sound cruel to say this but because of their disability they may not be able to be as hygienic after going to washroom. Also if they have to wheel themselves around and their hands are touching the wheels they pick up every germ on the floors. Look at the seniors homes in your area. They are always closing areas of the home because of Noro out breaks .I am a senior so I mean no disregard.. Just the facts as I see them

  13. On Reflection Nov 23 and staying in St Martin over night. Last time we were there took a boat to St Barts and spent a wonderful afternoon at Niki Beach (restaurant in a cove...great wine and best Cobb salad ever). Want to do this again but cant find out how to book it. Knew it must have been through Celebrity because there was a person on the dock with a sign when we got off the ship. Can anyone help on how we can book this again?

  14. Got some great feedback about leaving the ship. If you are in a suite do they also make it easier to board the ship? Are your cabins ready earlier? We used to like to go to Bistro on 5 for lunch when we got on. Too bad can't do that anymore!!! Any suggestion for lunch? Is Luminae open?

    Thanks

  15. On March 23 Reflection cruise disembark FLL. Last time we had a flight to catch. This time staying in FLL for a couple of days so really no rush. Just want to avoid mad rush in terminal. I know I will get instructions on board but sounds like we just go to MC. Little confused , take luggage there or leave it out night before? Sorry really no big deal just like some input.

    Thanks
