How soon can you start making restaurant and entertainment reservations and purchase drink packages? I have 402 days until my cruise and when I go to try to even look at and price drink packages I get the message that I can't book that now. Same with entertainment etc.
Thanks,
-
You don't have to be paid in full to make reservations.
Ok. I'll just keep checking in then!! Thanks!!

No set time for any of the reservations to open. Keep checking the Cruise Planner.
Maybe it's because it isn't paid in full yet and just has the deposit. It keeps saying you will have to do this onboard.

548 til we head out on Anthem of the Seas!!
-
We are booked on Anthem of the Seas for March 2019. I know that's a long way off so I can't make any reservations yet but I can't even add purchases like beverage packages etc. How far out can you add those purchases to your trip? And when can you start making reservations for entertainment and activities?
Thanks!!

The only place we found more crowded than any other ship we have been on, was the pool. Packed everyday. There were more people than places to sit. If you are pool people, get there early. I honestly do not recall waiting in line for any length of time for anything. Honestly. If you have breakfast or lunch at the buffet, go to the BACK of the venue. Most people go to the first one and yes, the lines are ridiculous....but I find that to be true on all ships. We always go to the back. (easier to find seats also). I must say though, you state you are going in March. Please know that both of these ships will be at full capacity. Here in the Northeast, March is spring break. There will be tons of kids of all ages.
It will be spring break for us here in AR too. Your replies have been helpful though. I know on our last cruise we would get loungers but they were not necessarily "by the pool' but up on a different deck which was fine with us. Your tip on heading to the rear buffet is helpful too!! Thanks. It's just good to hear some positive about the ship. I was getting a little discouraged.

I have been on both the Anthem and the Breakaway. I would rate them equal. You can't go wrong with either with the ages of your children and I think they would have a blast on both. I prefer the pools on the Anthem, The Breakaway pool is extremely small. I prefer the restaurants on The Breakaway. There are actually a couple of them that you eat on the outside boardwalk. Sooooo nice and they also have a "full Serve" restaurant called O'Sheenahans. (Spelling?) which is open 24/7. Never closes. You want a cheeseburger made to order a 2am...bam. Entertainment, equal. The Anthem does have more toys though....The North Star, the Fly Away , bumper cars ...etc..etc. I guess it depends on what you are looking for. I know NCL has the free drink packages and other things right now, so that would probably sway my decision. What about the itinerary? Are they comparable? Caribbean, Bermuda, Bahama's? Good luck to you...They are both GREAT ships.
So you didn't find problems with Breakaway being over crowded? I have read so many reviews that Breakaway is way over crowded and you can barely get a chair anywhere and there are long lines all the time etc. I know alot of people have way high expectations, which we don't. So, just exploring ideas.

I'm currently booked on the Norwegian Breakaway for March of 2019 but am now kinda looking at Royal Caribbean's Anthem of the Seas too. What do you suggest? Has anyone done both or either and have a suggestion of which may be the better of the 2? I'm traveling with 2 daughters who will be 25 and 20.
Thanks!!

Is the Falmouth Margaritaville close to the Montego Bay cruise port? I see on previous posts that it is for cruise guests and it is right by the port but I can't find if it is the Montego Bay port or another one.
Thanks!!

thanks for the reply!! I'm glad to know that the social package is worth it!!

Has anyone used the Carnival HUB app on board the ships? I read for a small fee you can use the HUB app to communicate with others in your party. We have 2 cabins. Myself and 3 kids are in one cabin on one deck and my son and his friend are in another cabin on another deck. It would be nice to be able to keep up with them somewhat. Also, about the wifi package that Carnival offers. I would just want the one where you can post to social media, not unlimited internet. Does anyone have any experience or tips with this offer?
Thanks,
Kim H.

Thanks for all the replies!! We are sailing on Carnival. I will plan on taking clothes for at least 1 night in the dining room cause I definitely want lobster the night it is offered!!
-
At dinner can you get the same thing they are serving in the dining room at the buffet? Does the buffet change nightly or is what they offer always the same? I want some lobster for sure the night they offer it but don't necessarily want to go to the MDR.
Thanks for any replies!!

Looking for a great beach excursion on Cozumel (or even Grand Cayman) where you can enjoy the beach plus they have extras like maybe parasailing and other water toys available. I know all that would be at an extra cost but that is fine.
Thanks,

Has anyone done the Jungle River Tubing in Montego Bay? If so how was it? Are the tubes completely enclosed where your basically sitting on the bottom of the tube and not your butt isn't dragging in the water? It would be me and 4 kids going (not really "kids", 23,21,17 & 17). Does it take the whole time that the ship is in port or do you get back to the ship early?
Thanks!!

Does anyone know if there is an option to purchase a length of cruise bingo package or do you just have to pay as you go?
-
Thanks for the tips!! Is there anything else that you tip for that isn't included in the cruise tip? I sure don't want to look rude!! I'm assuming if you call for extra towels or an extra pillow etc you would tip a couple of dollars for that too!!
-
Whoever moved this for me thanks!! I'm new to posting on the site and didn't mean to post where I wasn't suppose to!!
Thanks again!!
-
Thanks!! I will probably order like juice and pastries to snack while the others get ready. I'm planning on taking a stack of $1's with me so I will be sure I have enough for this!!
-
We have prepaid all our tips in the cost of our cruise. I figure I will probably order some room service in the mornings since my kids take longer than me to get ready!! Do I need to tip when the items are delivered? If so, how much would be acceptable?
Thanks,
Kim

We are thinking about possibly flying from Little Rock, AR to Houston for our cruise in June. My van needs some work and I'm not sure what that is going to cost so we may not want to venture a long drive in it. I haven't booked a flight in years!! Are there certain days to check for cheap flights or certain times when airlines offer sales or promotions? Trying to weigh the options, may look into renting a van as well. I want to find the cheapest option for the 5 of us. I know myself and 4 teenagers would really be cramped on the road trip as well with everyone's luggage etc. Any suggestions from those that have dealt with this would be great!!
Thanks,
Kim

I hope I can find one. I'd really like that oceanview!! Thanks for they tip!!
-
Thanks!!

When do you request upgrades? Like say we have paid off our cruise but close to sailing we want to pay to upgrade to an oceanview cabin. Do we request to do that if possible when we check in or do I check with my travel agent prior to departure? I really would like an oceanview but when we booked the 2 insides were more reasonable for me to pay for me and my 4 kids.
Thanks,
Kim

Thanks for the replies!! I was just wondering because some things it will let me do. Like I can already book my bungalow for cococay and pay for my VOOM package if I want to. I'll check back middle to end of March when I'm in the 365 day range!!
Thanks
