Thinking of giving NCL one last try to redeem themselves from a lack luster Gem cruise

Tell me what you like and dislike about the Breakaway

Also, what are must do and must see things on the ship

It depends

Do you like to see where you are going or where you have been

I love AFT but FORWARD is definitely the place to be

The balcony is larger and you feel like a king or queen sailing up front

However, the bridge is right above you and the crew can look directly down on you

Either way you can't go wrong

It depends on your relationship with the concierge

Friends traveled in the haven with niece and nephew who weren't and the concierge Adrian made arrangements so they could eat in Cagney's and enjoy the Havven facilities

This is definitely not the norm and in most cases I heard you the members of your party not in the Haven can't use any of the Haven perks

All i can say is location, location.location

I prefer to sail aft but when in the haven i want to be in the haven area

Off the gem in january and it was great having the haven courtyard right outside my door.

Although not the highest of rollers I have booked the last 3 cruises thru CAS. Not once on any of those cruises did anyone from cas come over to me to introduce themselves etc. On this past cruise No one every came around to ask if i needed a drink except for the night they had the white hot party.

I know the attack will begin but CAS employees know who is who by the playing card

Common courtesy would be to say hello to a CAS cruiser and introduce themselves.

Just like the concierge makes it their business to know the guests CAS should do the same.

I heard CAS was open on saturday for a few hours

I stayed in a handicapped aft suite

I was told by ncl if they needed the cabin they would move me but it would be to same cabin level or higher

NCL would definitely move you if they needed the cabin

Don't feel bad because if they don't move you they don't ned the cabin

Recently sailed on the Gem and never had a problem booking with the concierge

There was an issue when we booked carneys with carlos the concierge and we found out by accident they didnt have our reservation

That was even after getting a written confirmation from carlos

We did end up getting a new reservation but it was 15 minutes later

No biggie

Is it a definite charge or a "hold" charge

I had several charges on my credit card from NCL after i left the ship and it turned out these charges were not real charges but a "hold" on my account.

Eventually they went away and I did not have to pay for them

You should call NCL regarding the Haven since there is no waiter poolside in the Haven

There is a gentlemen who handles the needs of the guests in the Haven but is not considered a waiter

I am sure you will be covered if you order a beverage from him since I have ordered from him in the past and he did charge us. I guess if he can charge for the drinks he can handle the UBP transaction

Yes (nasty people) I prefer the Haven

If you have a choice you should stay on the same floor as the pool and restaurant in the Haven if possible

Why travel, even if it one floor to get to the Haven

Having it right outside your door is golden

When i asked the steward they said i needed to send the laundry in two days prior to the final day of the cruise

Dinner at Le Bistro was superb

I enjoyed the behind the scenes tour but you should definitely send your laundry in

They did a great job and I mean a great job

I thought only charge at O'Sheehan's was for alcohol

I think they have a package for 50 minutes and 100 minutes

You can also pay by the minute which is what I did

Was on the Gem as well

Dan Dan just doesn't do it for me

This time it had to be the beef for two at Le Bistro

However, the filet mignon at cagney's was perfect this time. My table mates didnt care for their bone in rib eye

Its extra but worth the money

Moderno is good too

I hate Teppanyaki but I am sure all of you are sick of me saying that lol

But that is my opinion

I have never been on a balcony cabin that the adjoining divider opened

I was told as a single I could not get any cabin in a category higher than a mini suite

Just called CAS to see about a cruise for next year and they told me there are no discounts for singles in suite and above categories

Has anyone heard of a CAS change in calculation.

Last year I got a nice discount and traveled alone in my cabin

Let me know if you heard of any changes in CAS or how they calculate their discount
