  2. Cabin #13110 ... my first thought when i opened the door is 'wow this is tiny!' and it was a very small space,, luckily there were only 2 of us, because any more passengers in that tiny cabin would have made it unbearable! the good news is the bathroom was a decent size.. no bumping your elbows since there's a decent amount of space to move about, the shower stall was good for the average sized person,, although the water pressure wasn't so great. the hot water works well if you press those buttons on the water fixtures.. i liked that the shower head was hand held.... the bathroom also had an outlet for a shaver, and plenty of shelves for toiletries.

Now for the balcony.. it was small, but it served it's purpose, i was able to sit out there comfortably and enjoy the peaceful sounds of the ocean while drinking my coffee.:)... which brings me back to the cabin location.. it is the third cabin from the bow, directly one floor beneath the bridge.. they can look into your cabin at all times because of the cabin mirror.. no privacy unless the curtain was fully drawn, which made us very uncomfortable. ... which also describes the bed,, hard as a rock! luckily we had an awesome cabin stewart, Ares, who put down egg crates to hopefully make the mattress more comfortable,, but it did not help too much.. The AC did not work well at all... i complained to the guest services team,, who were fabulous by the way! ... but the issue was never resolved. mind you on the other side of the ship on the same deck, my cousins had to turn up the ac temp because they were freezing!

There was plenty of closet space next to my bed, with lots of shelves.. and my daughter took over the couch area to put her suitcase on, or else she would have to put it under her bed,, (which is where my bigger suit case fit perfectly).

So would i ever choose this cabin again? NO. but did i let it ruin my cruise? NO!:D In my opinion,, this cabin is only big enough for 2 adults,, it is small , yet functional.

As for there being a lot of motion all the way forward,, it didn't feel any different than when i was midship,, a little swaying back and forth, but it didn't effect me, ( i am not prone to sea sickness )

  3. You think people from NY/NJ are loud? Yes, we certainly are, loud, and very friendly. And we walk fast.

:hearteyes:YES WE'RE LOUD!! AND FRIENDLY AND FUN! and I will be sailing this Sunday with a ship full of people,, many from NY/ NJ and it will be just as great as the last time! PS. we do know how to act,, but don't act like you're superior. we know everyone has ghosts in their closet buddy.

  4. I called NCL to rearrange to take the breakaway for this Sunday and the only thing they had was the gty balcony. You lose out of all the perks, like the UBP and specialty dining with the gty. The UBP is another $1,500 for the week plus gratuity at 18% and the special dining. May have to plan for a different week. This was my 50th birthday cruise. So I'm pretty bummed out.

  5. Does the fan last all night long? I have been looking into fans since I am so used to sleeping with one blowing on me at night. But most of them only last a few hours on a charge.

my fan is so old it runs on batteries! i also bring a clip on fan w/ an extension cord.. i need the air, i am always warm!:p

There was an old post about fans where someone said NCL guest services may provide one if you ask for it.. i tried to verify that, but they were clueless. so i bring my own... carry it on or it may end up in the naughty room . (even though it's not on the naughty list.)

  6. my obc also said 'deliver date dec. 30' i called ta, that is the ncl obc. NCl said the dec 30 date would not be a problem, it would be delivered on day one. I had them send me an 'amenity confirmation' that i printed out with everything i bought/ obc just in case.

the ta credit won't show until the day you sail. it's confusing because they lump ur obc in w/ your 'purchases', but that's how they list it.

  7. well this is going to annoy a lot of people,, myself included.. a couple in my party called ncl trying to add another person to their party. they asked if they should bid for a larger cabin... person told them it couldn't hurt, but it still may be too late to add another person since sailaway is less than 2 weeks away. so they put in a 50$ pp bid for a mini suite from an ov..... they got an email 2 hours later 2 HOURS LATER!! that their bid was accepted.. true story. good for them.. stinks for the rest of us.. and they claim the bids go in a que..i don't think so.

More perplexing news: this couple mentioned above talked their friends into upgrading yesterday... they bid 50$ pp to upgrade from an OV to a mini=suite , and won the bid today,, one day later.... on deck 12.. first time cruisers on NCL as well. so it's very strange.. what's up w/ that ncl? both of these couples are in my party of 30, so i know this is fact. weird.

on that note, i decided to cancel once again and use that $$$ for 40% more bonus points on a popular airline instead. my balcony is fine!

  8. just a friendly reminder for all you sailors heading to NYC... this sunday Nov. 5 is the NYC marathon! so expect it to be a little busier than usual... give yourself a little extra time to get to the pier just in case:)

    With that said, HAPPY CRUISING!
