  1. Any suggestions would be great.  We recently cruised on the Venezia we parked in Weehawkin & took the Ferry from Weehawkin/Port Imperial to Midtown and walked to ship.  Next cruise we are taking is MSC from Brooklyn and would love to park in Weehawkin again, but the ferry to Wall Street where we can catch another ferry to Brooklyn doesn't run on weekends.  Can anyone who is familiar with the ferry system tell me if there is a way to get from Midtown to Brooklyn via Ferry(s) on a Sunday?

  2. We just cruised without the kids on the Pride February 14 for the first time and we loved it so much we came home and booked a Christmas cruise with them for this year. We usually go on Fantasy class ships so we don't need ropes courses etc. This cruise was so unusual to us. Nobody hardly hung out at the pools, pool bars, Atrium bars, the shows etc. they were all in the Casino the whole time. It was so different from our usual cruise experiences. I don't know if it's usually like that or just the winter cruises. But no waits at Guy's, Blue Iguana. Awesome room 6221 & room steward. Great waiters and bartenders all over the ship. The pizza place actually makes the type of pizza you want to order. It was just fabulous from start to finish! Can't wait for December!! Just wish they went better places than the Bahamas.

  3. We will be in Nassau in a few weeks and are interested in walking to John Watlings Distillery then going to the Fish Fry and walk back to ship through Junkanoo Beach area and make a few stops by the ship (Brewery, shopping etc.) on the way back.

Would appreciate any feedback on the walk to the Distillery. We have walked to the Hilton no problem before. Also after the distillery if we don't feel like walking to the Fish Fry what Jitney would we take and is the closest place to pick it up at the McDonald's? Also open to suggestions on places/things to eat at the Fish Fry. We have been to Nassau many times but have never made it there before. Thanks!

  4. We have stayed here twice. The most recent time was November 2016. The lobby and pool area are very nice. It is also very convenient to walk across to the bayside marketplace. Both times we paid a little extra for rooms with a view of the cruise ships and that is so neat to see the ships leave the night before your cruise and the new ones pull in early that morning. The view at night was pretty too. The room itself and the elevators were a little beat up. The bathroom was dated and the rug and furniture could use replacing. Nothing that would make you turn around and leave just not as nice as they should be for the price you pay for the rooms. But we want the convenience and view. The ride to the port in the morning is also very quick. The guys who work the valet are nice too. Last time we were there they were doing construction and it was little crazy to get in the parking lot (so I wouldn't plan on driving anywhere just park and walk). We also ate the buffet breakfast last time it was expensive but convenient. Have fun!

  5. We are staying at the Holiday Inn across from the Bayfront Marketplace the night before our cruise. Can anyone recommend some good places for dinner (we like casual bar food type of stuff and/or casual seafood) and a good place for breakfast? They don't have to be in Bayfront just within walking distance of the hotel. Thank you!

  6. Not guilty, but hate to hear people's comments, especially the people I work with. "oh you are going on another cruise". We go once a year on Carnival. It's cheaper and much more fun than a week at the Jersey shore that they spend their vacation money on. I already decided I wasn't telling them about my next one. They also make comments about oh your boat didn't sink, have no power, did you get Norovirus etc. when we get back. People who have never cruised just don't get it! Their loss!!

  7. I wish that the camp was open for more than 2 hours at a time during the day. Even when it says it is open 11-3 they say pick up is at 1 for lunch. By the time you get to a lounge or in the hot tub you have about an hour sans kiddos and then it's time to get them again. I would even pay for a day party like they have at night once during the cruise if they would keep them for 4 or 5 hours during the day, take them to lunch and have fun activities planned for them. We are not night owls and never can stay up long enough to use the night owl day care even though we always say we are going to do it each trip. Also on our last cruise our son age 8 said he would rather go to camp then to Freeport. So they always advertise that they will watch the kids on port days so we went to check it out. They were very rude about it and said to our son that there are no video games and that he would be in the younger kid room all day and have to play with their stuff (trying to talk him out of staying & he is a

quiet kid not a brat) He said he wanted to stay anyway and he did have fun I was just a little surprised on how they tried to keep the Kidd from going by advertsing how boring it was going to be for them.

  8. Another great Fantasy review!! Congrat's on the unmarriage! Hey remember those letters to the port you encouraged us to write? I got a letter back a couple days ago saying that they issued permits for improvements to the port. So I think that's a good sign! Of course it also said something about appealing so the antiport people may appeal & keep dragging it out... We will be on Fantasy again Nov 2, 2013, don't know what Nov date you were thinking of booking, but maybe we'll see you! I can't wait!!

  9. Had my first weigh in last night. Down 5.6 lbs in a week and 3 days. So off to a good start, despite being bad a few times. I weigh myself every morning and seems the days I use the majority of my points on dairy and protein I do much better than the days I use them for carbs. Also need to make myself get up early and exercise every morning, I only did 3 times. I need to get moving only 170 some days until I cruise. I need to lose like 95 lbs by then!! (ok i'll take 25 lbs by then) I've been losing and gaining the same 10 lbs since January dieting on my own. But there's just something about knowing I am going to get weighed in at WW that makes me stick with it. I have never been skinny in my life and have been on WW and every other diet numerous times my entire life (36 yrs). Would like to be in shape by the time I turn 40 and also I don't have any health problems now and want to keep it that way. My dad has out of control type 2 diabetes and I had gestational diabetes when I was preggers so I have an excellent chance of developing it in the future if I don't get this weight off. Thanks for the motivation!

  10. Hi everyone! I just rejoined WW again tonight! Hope you don't mind me jumping on here with you all. I've been trying this and that to lose weight since New Year's on my own. But I need the accountability of going to the meetings and getting weighed. I cruise in a little more than six months. Hoping to lose a good amount of weight by then!

  11. Hi all! I am considering joining Medifast (it is one of the last diets left that I haven't done yet :p). I just have a few questions: I am confused re the difference between the Take Shape for Life and the Medifast center ( I have one very close to me). Is it more expensive to go to one over the other. It also seems that some people just order the food and do it on their own.

Also was wondering how you all deal with the real world with some kind of holiday or event every couple weeks. Tis the season for cookouts and friends invitations for happy hours.:p Do you cheat? and if you do does it completely undo all your weeks worth of hard work? I know it sounds odd to worry about cheating before you start, but I am realistic and know occasionally I will have an adult beverage and this stuff is expensive! Any tips or advice you all can give would be appreciated. I'm just trying to get a sense if this will be a good fit for me. Thanks!!
