The cancellation was because of a pandemic. Will your travel insurance cover you? I think you might have more chance getting a refund from Carnival.

    Good to hear from you,

Carnival and my T/A both offered a full refund which we accepted.

Don’t no if Insureandgo will give a full refund or credit on another cruise, still waiting for a response from them. The policy was purchased months before COVID-19 was around.

    Hello boeckli,

I have taken Travel Insurence with Insureandgo on many occasions.

I have claimed for missed ports a few times with no problems but these missed ports were INTERNATIONAL.

All they asked for was a copy of the ID Page of my Passport and a letter from the Cruise Company ( Pursers Desk ) as proof of a missed Port.

I have never been asked to supply my Medicare or Private Health Card.

    Regards Zac.

Claiming for a missed port on a domestic cruise. InsureandGo have requested a copy of my passport and copy of my medicare or private health card as proof of residency in Australia.

Would this be a standard requirement? Have any others needed to provide this?

I'm generally reluctant to hand over copies of these kinds of documents ...

Any experience you can share would be appreciated.

We've been watching the ships arriving live in anticipation of seeing the Norwegian Jewel arrive on 1st December. The site went down a few days ago and now requires a username and password, with no avenue to create one.  Hopefully it will sort itself out, we need our fix!

    Having the same problem.

There is another site that is quite good, but they need to get up there and clean the Camera . cafesydney.com  ( Live Cam )

    Zac.

  6. VisaLink is a private company offering a paid visa service.

Why would you use them over and above the Australian Government Smart traveller site that links you directly to each relevant country's own government immigration and visa website ??

I must have wrongly interpreted your request.

I use visa link for information, like DO you require a visa in a particular country.

I do not purchase the visa through them.

  7. Where is the RCL roll call page? I am a senior and not sure what you mean. Can you send a link? Thanks

    Maeve1941,

You placed your question on the Australian and New Zealand Thread,,,,,,,, just scoll back towards the top of the Main page and you will see the heading ROLL CALLS.

RCL Meet and Mingle is there ,just click on it to open and then search for your cruise.

  8. Hi, I went to a meet and greet on MSC Seaside and it was great to catch up with Facebook friends, do you have something similar here in Australia? We are doing the 19th October re-positioning cruise on Ovation of the Seas from Singapore and wondered if we could do the same on this cruise? Thanks

    Hello Maeve1941,

To answer your question, we certainly do Meet and Greets in Australia.

There has already been a Roll Call established for this Cruise.

Go to the R.C.L Roll Call Page and you will see the Thread.

    Ovation of the Seas

    Singapore to Sydney Relocation Cruise

    19 October 2018

When you read through it you will see all the information you require.

    Enjoy your Cruise.

    Cheers, Zac

  9. Voyager is at the OPT and Solstice is moored in the harbour at Athol Buoy....out of sight of the cams.

Where do the passengers for Solstice come ashore? Are they dis/embarking today or is it just a port call day?

    Hi Kiwi Kruger,

I have seen Tender Boats from Moored Cruise Ships either Tender to the Steps near the Overseas Terminal just in front of the Cruise Ships ,also to the steps near the Opera House ( Mrs Macquaries Chair ? ) near the gates to the Botanical Gardens, I think it may be determined by marine traffic eg Harbour Ferries.

    Cheers Zac

  10. I may have to go on this ship to check out the interesting wallpaper in the lifts. :D

    Thanks for the great review.

As a Princess cruiser like you and I too am interested it seeing what they did to the old Dawn.

    Hi Sewgood,

The wallpaper murals that are in the lifts are great.

I have heard of people getting into every lift on the Pacific Explorer just to see all the different murals ,from Polar Bear facing you as you enter the lift, to a Wooden Suspension Bridge that faces you, to a Gothic Church Etc.

I have been on the Pacific Eden and they have the same setup.

I assume all ships that go into the P&O Fleet will have these Lift Murals.

    Cheers Zac
