  1. Magic also does a similar eastern itinerary to the one you liked with Glory. Are you tied to a particular date? If not, I would do eastern Magic. Only port difference is amber cove instead of HMC (which I agree is not an even switch).

We actually switched from Glory to Magic when we found out Magic would get 2.0 features. We also like port canaveral for debarkation better than Miami.

Sorry I should of said that in my original post we have to go during a certain date (Kids off for spring break) and we narrowed it down from four to these two...having a hard time choosing, first world problems lol:)

    Thanks for your thoughts!

  2. Hi, planning our next family cruise and we are torn between the Magic or the Glory. Family of four, son will be 18 and daughter will be 16 when we go.

    Magic, have never been on:

Cozumel, Belize, Mahogany Bay, Roatan and Costa Maya. We have been to all except Costa Maya....

Glory have been on in 2012 and was not all that impressed with the pool areas.

Half Moon Cay, St. Thomas, San Juan, and Grand Turk. Have been to all.

Both are 7 day, Glory is about $500 more but not a factor. We love the Glory's itinerary but also love the thought of a newer ship. So for those who have been on both or either one what are your thoughts please?

  3. Sure is a small world!! Wonder if we know each other?? LOL!!! If you ever went to the hardware store ( the old Ace), my husband Don worked there til they closed.

I sure hope this hurricane fizzles out- I don't mind the rocky ocean and I'd be ok with a change in itinerary. I don't want to drive all the way to Baltimore only to have to drive home again. I did stock up on some ginger pills and dramamine just in case!

I miss the old Ace, sure is nice having the new grocery store though. With it being such a small town I'm sure we have ran into or saw each other before.:) I have lived here 18 years.

I was told cruising out of Baltimore would be rocky and was worried with the storm and also stocked up on ginger candy and Dramamine but the water was smooth as glass except for our last night!

Take care and have a safe and fun trip.

OP sorry to thread jack, just we live in a very small town and it was a surprise to see someone on here from there.:D

  4. I'll be watching this thread as well. We are driving to Baltimore from Michigan Saturday for Sunday's cruise on the Pride. Looks like it will be a rocky cruise at the very least!

Leaderdogmom, I too just went on the Pride on August 30 and I also live in Armada Michigan! : ) It was during tropical storm Erica, so hopefully you ( and everyone else on this cruise and others) will be as lucky and it will disperse like it did for us!

  5. Thanks. I can't wait to experience it so that I can do the review. :D

4x the fuel points? WOW. I wish we were having that sale. That would have been awesome. I'm going out to purchase some 5 gallon gas cans so we don't waste any of it when we fill up. :p

Not sure where you got them (we get ours at Kroger) but at Kroger the points don't expire until the end of the next month after purchase and we can only use a dollar off per gallon per visit. My husband works 125 miles round trip from home so we love the fuel points! Also Kroger always runs the 4 x promotion around Easter ( all holidays and fathers day etc) so not sure if you will need more or any other gift cards for restaurants shopping etc

  6. Let me know how it is. Enjoy!

After talking with my family we are going to do something else....but the reviews it got are really good. Have fun planning! : )

  7. Trust victor's drivers on this. Just tell them you want a nice local place. but don't want the beach vendors badgering you. They'll know where to go. But if you want to toss out a couple of places, depending on where you are on the island, Bite on the Beach in West End, Celeste's in West Bay (grab the beleadas and head down Bananarama's drive and eat on the beach), Temporary Cal's in First Bight. I think one of the driver's relatives has a place in Flowers Bay (Haydee's Diner?) that a small almost hole in the wall spot but great food.

We are going to try Temporary Cal's next month, the views look amazing as well as the food. : )

  8. I can't say what I think is best for your family...but my husband and our two children went to Nachi in August 2011 and we loved it. Kids had a lot a fun, loved the pool. It is a very relaxing low key place.

We are going again in April and Nachi was their first pick. My children ages now are 14 and 12.

Have fun where ever you go!:)

  9. ...Simply go to CCL.com. Log into the site. On top of the page, scroll over Manage. Click onto "My Bookings" In the Blue Box, click onto "View Cruise Documents". Click onto "Print General Information", then click Submit. On Page 2, under Itemized Charges" under total charges, should show your (OBC) On Board Credit. ...It's easier than it sounds! LOL ...Hope this helps...

Even through I'm not the OP, thank you for posting this. : )

  10. We went to the Internet Cafe (located in the back corner of Alfred's Bar) and did a pay as you go plan to log on to the Internet. We then checked in with Southwest and the cafe also has a printer which enabled us to print our boarding passes. I know that the Southwest site does say you can print your passes once at the airport, but I just like having everything all set before getting to the airport. So I suppose you could have your mom check in for you and then print the passes at the airport, or just do it all on the ship for a few bucks.

    Thank you.

  11. Great review! Thank you for taking the time to write it. Can I ask how you printed your boarding pass for SW on the ship? Did you have to pay a fee? We too are flying with SW and I was just going to have my mom check us in on Saturday, so my family and I hopefully can all sit together and I was going to print our passes at the airport...do you know if that is possible?

    Thank you!:)
