I am really frustrated that Carnival is postponing their announcement.  My husband and I have the Carnival Magic booked for April 25, 2020 and I have been on pins and needles waiting to hear if the cruise is cancelled or not.  We can cancel by March 31st and get a full refund based on the information Carnival sent us earlier this month.  I was hoping to find out today that onboard credit was going to be offered along with the refund for another cruise.  I can't stand the idea of waiting yet another few days!

We were supposed to be on the same cruise and are in the same place that you are.  I am really disappointed they didn't let us know today so that we can make/adjust plans.

We’ve never used a “ship excursion”. These tours directly stimulate the local economy, something that St. Maarten needs in recovery. I know it can be a tad nerve-racking, but them getting you back on time or before is what their reputation and livelihood depends on. They won’t chance it. I always do LOTS of research and any negative review means we don’t use them.

Think about it, since that’s the exact tour you are looking for and maybe take a chance. You won’t regret it.

I will definitely think about it, thanks for the info.

  3. We are headed to St. Maarten on our next cruise. This will be our third visit and the last time we were there we took a taxi and just hung out at Maho beach. My husband loves watching the airplanes come in and could do it all day but I would like to visit Marigot and look at some shoppes. Can anyone recommend a tour that would include both?

When I bought my a6000 years ago (which came with the 16-50 and 55-210 kit lenses), the 18-135 did not exist, and I bought the 18-200 as a travel lens.  It served its purpose, but in the last year or so I decided it was just too heavy and chunky.  I replaced it late last year with the 18-135, which, while only marginally lighter, is far less chunky, and I've been quite happy with it.   (I also now own an a6300.)   The 16-50 is a nice little lens, and sometimes it's all I want on the camera.

Thanks for the information comparing them both!

The menus didn't excite me but I thought the food was good.  Everything was cooked the way we asked and hot.  Most of us liked our meals.  I didn't find the desserts to be great.   But there was always something that was decent.

Glad to know the food was good-that is one of my favorite parts of the cruise. Looking forward to the rest of your review.

I took it on the ride, but didn't shoot with it during the ride.  I just stuck it in the storage compartment.  I've taken my camera with me on pretty much every ride in Disney - even the wet ones - I bring a ziploc bag with me in my back pocket to toss the camera in when there's risk of getting very wet (Kali River Rapids, Splash Mountain).

    You are VERY brave!!
