  1. Its all up to what works for you in my opinion...We did not really enjoy the event, maybe we are to young (early 30s) for the 20s theme doing the foxtrot. Although if they would just let you mingle and place some party tables, instead of seating you towards the stage it would be a lot better in my opinion. The staff does do there best to entertain you.

  2. I was thinking airport security...but then really did think they would be the same that no knife is allowed to go through checkpoint unless you check your bag in that is through the airport....I am surprised cruise line allowes you to have a knife.

    Why would this surprise you?

I assume you get your hands on several knifes in the dining room/restaurants every time you eat, so if you wanted to stab someone you wouldn't exactly have to pack your own.. ;-)

I don’t carry it in my hand baggage :D that would be a real bad idea…I put in with our toiletries in the checked baggage. Never had it taken away, even let it lying around in the cabin, room attendant never said anything.

  3. Indeed they do. Both the men and women looked like they were on the verge of declaring a global catastrophe. Yikes.

I hear ya, maybe it’s there plan, think of it….Imagine them taking over, or high jacking every cruise ship there is……Now THAT’S a yike! :D looool

No seriously, I filled an official complaint after our first cruise on LOS…The way they treated the passengers was just too rough, shouting, unfriendly, acting like we were all teenagers getting in or out a ship, never ever smiling or helpful…I know they have a job to do, but there is always a better way, especially on cruise ships, were everybody is on vacation, near everybody is 21+ and paid a whole lot to be on that ship that deserves better treatment imo.

    Second cruise it was OK,

Now again on our third one, it was the first one all over again with the guys in blue…The way I got shouted back to the line for my shoes making the metal detector go off was just waaaaaaaaaay overdoing it…People in the line were all saying go up and complain about this, I could only say “been there, done that”…

EDIT: the shoes were flip flops by the way…What was I going to hide it that!?

Okay, so time to have some fun than on LOS in September I guess ;)

  4. I note from Royal Caribbean website that wifi is available in all staterooms on Libery of the Seas. I am thinking of brining my ipad along.

Is there a cost for wifi connection?

Could anyone comment on the speed and reliability of the connection?

I had a connection in June (deck9 balcony left aft) & September (deck7 promenade room right) of last year on LOS. This year (deck7 forward right) no wifi connection in our room...I did not use it for internet, its just the phone looking for access points at all time but many reviews state that the connection is not up the standards

  5. I would dare say it is NOT worth it at all!…What is worth it, is the CD package where all your pictures are on that the professional photographers took (not the cruise DVD), that way you can do as you please with them and have a hardcopy. A word to the wise do not pre order the CD, first take a look onboard if the pictures are nice than order the CD.

  6. Day 7 – At Sea

I then met my new friends in Vintages followed by a brief dabble on the penny drops and fruit machines in the casino. We all needed an early night ready for tomorrow so it was time to say goodbye. I actually felt really emotional because although I had only met these people a week ago, they made my cruise special. I’ve made some friends for life and have already been over to Belgium to visit two of them.

:’( Even I wept a sad tear when we turned our backs, indeed emotional.

    Friends for life!!! :)

    Well written “Lara” :D!!!

And no I don’t mind that you used pictures with us in...I did hold my breath on which ones you were going to use, thank god I’m -10kg now :p lol

Feel free to shock “the big booper” with the picture whit our 3 faces in the hot tub, you can cut away the skin ;) lol

  7. Hi there, many thanks for the info. We have also had a message on face book whilst you were sailing from a CD called Mike Hunnerup who said he is taking us over to Fort Lauderdale.

Interesting about her redeployment to Asia, thanks for the heads up!

I hope you had a great cruise BTW and thanks for the prompt feedback, you must have only just disembarked today!

No problem :D I had just gotten home at that time…You helped me plenty before my first cruise, least I can do :)

We had an excellent cruise, review following ;)

Sorry for bumping in on this thread :D I thought I was in the roll call.

  8. To all my fellow Liberty Sailors

    I can now say

    We are sailing

    THIS MONTH

    only

    days to go!

    Hello Pete,

As promised I asked who the cruise director is for the TA...

Leo Pappa will get off Liberty the day the TA leaves, If I heard the loyalty officer correctly, I believe that Gordon fellow is getting back on.

FYI, they are giving Liberty a small over hall at this time, during our entire cruise they where painting the ship, varnishing the woods, repainting the decks and track, etc, etc…It was needed, she is showing the wrath of the salt.

    Have fun!!!

BTW, next year will be the last year that Liberty will be going to Europe, she will be transferred to Asia in 2013.
