  1. If it's really only your possibility, go for it. My first cruise was on the Fascination...but to much less exotic ports. I fell in love with everything on that boat (and I'll be on the Fascination again in 10 days!)

Honestly, I think your friends will have a lot of fun. The service is wonderful and it never feels crowded to me. I saw lots of the same people more than once. The waterslide is awesome and I never really got bored.

    Good luck with your decisions!

  2. I'm in the same , haha. I usually talk to my friends about it and then plan out my packing lists or do some budgeting and figure out how much I can spend. Occasionally, I watch YouTube videos about cruises or maybe look at menus for the cruise. I've looked up places to eat in the departure port and hotels and googlemapped everything. Lol.

Also, I have a coworker that adores talking about cruising so we talk a little everyday.

    Either way, I'm pumped!

  3. That's so sweet thank you so much! I've heard there weren't any big changes, but I'll let you know what we thought of it when we get back in February!

The paradise was my last cruise! (Maybe a couple years ago but still!) We rented a keep ourselves and drove around the island, it was one of the best days of my life! I actually did a review (that I didnt quite finish) somewhere on cruise critic.

    You are gonna love it!

If you wanna read it. Also, it looks like the lobster wasn't even that great...

  4. Hey all!

Going to be taking my first cruise with my girlfriend on 12/14 onboard the Fascination. Done some exhaustive research on rules, insider tips, planning, etc. Still working on the shore excursion planning, but I've come to the conclusion that booking through Carnival isn't as good as booking directly, if you plan properly.

If anyone has any advice on previous excursions/trips, I'm all ears to ideas and reviews. I'll spend some money, but I'm not a millionaire...

Also, if there are any others going on the December Fascination trip, it'd be awesome to make some new friends. Originally reserved early dining, but a friend of mine suggested the open dining option to meet other guests and so forth.

The fascination was my first cruise and I'm going again in January! I loved every single minute of it and I'm sure you will, too.

Honestly, on my last cruise I had anytime dining and my friend and I were sat by ourselves every single night. I met more people with a set dining time and could talk to them every night. I prefered that much more. (That's solely opinion though!)

Make sure you leave some room for the waterslide, for sure. And order as much as you want at dinner! But be careful with drinks, as they tend to be $8-10 each (expensive compared to my city). And go with an easy attitude, most people are there to have fun and relax.

Also, the serenity hot tubs are my favorite place on the boat and the comedians are typically hilarious.

  5. I am open to absolutely anything, like beach days or snorkeling or tours or random adventures. However, we will most likely have a few drinks at each port.

So far for Nassau, we are considering the Tiki Bikini hut and for Freeport, Lucaya beach.

But any other suggestions are highly welcomed!

  6. Hey! My friends and I will be visiting Nassau and Freeport in mid-January. We are on a bit of a budget and would like to stay around $50 for each port. Slightly more is okay, slightly less is even better.

    Any suggestions are welcomed!

  7. Two of my best friends and I are taking a cruise in January. But I need help deciding between the Elation and Fascination. The price is about the same, they are both five days, and the drive is about the same aswell.

I'm mostly worried about the ship, weather, and activities. I went on the Fascination about four or five years ago and loved it, though.

I know that we would have more fun in New Orleans (at a cost).

    Can you help me decide???

  8. Miami Vice without question.

This thread made me think of asking the opposite.

So I used to LOVE frozen drinks. Now I can't seem to get passed 1 or 2. Just too sweet and they make me feel ill unfortunately.

What is a good drink to order at the pool (I love wine and champagne the rest of the time so that isn't an issue). I want a refreshing NOT super sweet drink at the pool. I am not a soda drinker either so not into Rum and Cokes, etc...

I was curious if the Vodka lemonade mentioned was sugary sweet?!

I would love a bucket with a nice bottle of champagne by the pool but I don't think they allow it.

A mojito sounds like a good option!
