Just off the Freedom. Just asked the steward the first day & we had ice in the morning & afternoon the rest of the cruise. He even topped off my beer bucket I had left over from the lido deck.

We will be in Nassau from 8am till 1am in the fall. Carnivals excursion will cost me $651.96 for 2 adults & 2 children. Thats half the cost of another cruise & its only 5 hrs.. I wanted to take advantage of the late departure & do something myself a little cheaper. I was thinking about booking a room at the Comfort inn directly. That will cost me $490.50 + $24.00 for the water taxi if I figured it out right. Do the water taxis get you close to there? Has anyone ever done this? Thanks.

I think its a great idea. We were on the fence about cruising around Thanksgiving & booked the Fantasy because of it. We get to see Trace Adkins,a solid country act,for $20. Also we are in Nassau until 1am so theres no reason to rush back the the ship in the afternoon. We will be back on board before dark though with all the elevated crime in Nassau talk on here.

Just off her this Saturday as well. We had a great time & left her in good shape for you. When we took my DD & DS to camp a counselor named Miss Vicki remembered my DD from the Fantasy last year. She even remembered her name. That was very cool. Good luck finding a lounger on the Lido on the sea days. Carnival was going around with the little stickers but it did not help. We saw a couple guys "having words" about a saved chair. Security had to get involved.The guy got his chair though :)

Any info on the 6D ocean view trundle bed cabins? We just booked E59 for our family for the trip ending on Thanksgiving 2014. Our kids will be 10 & 12 at the time. We just got back from the Freedom & had a great time but really enjoy the smaller ships. Only 299 more days.

Celebrity runs promos form time to time where you can select one of three benefits for booking under the terms of the promo (called the 1-2-3 Promo). One of the options is a free beverage package which includes alcoholic drinks up to a certain price. You can pay the difference to upgrade it to a package that includes more expensive alcohol. Their beverage packages are great and we use them even when not getting them for free as we think the prices are reasonable. They have non-alcoholic packages as well.

I am platinum on Carnival, but have never tried another cruise line. In looking for a cruise in April, Celebrity's prices from Florida are very similar to Carnival and include a free drink package. Can anyone who has been on both tell me the differences?

So when the Fantasy is sold, Carnival is done in Charleston? It would be nice if another ship took her place.

Just of Enchantment 4 day. Of course lots of food everywhere but... I miss the old menus. Did not dine in main dining room at all b/c read menus and was not thrilled... more like yuk... No "real" indian curry anymore in Windjammer, no warm chocolate cake in Windjammer or rice pudding, no pumpkin soup, remember that from Monarch! No packets of hot chocolate! No chocolate milk, new tea tastes terrible...It was 45 degrees in Florida the day we boarded. Did really enjoy the Turkey dinner in the Windjammer. I am Loyal to Royal but the cutbacks are becoming painful, and I have only been Cruzin for last 5 years. No dinner with Captain, now it is breakfast at 8:30 AM on Sea Day, I was not going there. Is it just this ship or is it fleet wide and what can we do to bring back the favorites? I am starting to consider jumping ship! :eek:

If you hop over to the Carnival board you will see more of the same & a big debate about tablecloths.

I've cruised her twice and really enjoyed it. She is a little older and smaller but the staff was fantastic.

If you dont mind me asking why did you switch from Princess to Carnival in the first place?

The new menu looks good. I could care less about the table cloths. Its hard to believe thats a deal breaker for some. I guess theres always Cunard for those folks.

Looks good to me,I have no problem with snow or cold. It would be fun. I would be in a hot tub if they were open.

I like it. I would shut the doors at 10 minutes though.

Whats included with the Carnival soda card? I would be interested in unsweetened iced tea, diet coke & red bull (or whatever kind of energy drink they offer) Do you get it at guest services after you get on board?

i don't remember ever seeing it. I leave tomorrow for the liberty on saturday and bought the little international delight vanilla creamer cup and packed them in my suitcase. I put them in one of my tupperware containers so they dont get squished

Nice review. I just subscribed to this thread & I never do that. I would go on the Fantasy again in a heartbeat. She is definitely underrated.

I'm fairly certain the Bon Voyage program is self limited to two orders of whatever alcoholic beverage you chose.

I just ordered a bottle of rum for the wife then tried to add (2) 4 packs of heinekin & the system would not let me. I guess its a combination of any two products.

What I don't understand about the 15 drinks is this - how the heck many calories is everyone consuming? WOW!

Understand what? Its a vacation people. Next it will be illegal to purchase a soda thats larger than 16 oz. in New York, never mind it already is.
