The porters work for the passengers:).

They are most assuredly in a union at the NY port. Most likely employed by the Port Authority. Nevertheless, they work for the pax.

They work for the PA, they don't really care if the passengers come or not, they just want their pay check.

Just thought I would share this photo with you here. I crossed the Atlantic twice back in 1975, I went to Rota, Spain and Naples, Italy and then came back home. The ship was 581' in length, had a beam of 79' and a draft of 27'.

Her she is, the USS Concord.

On my return trip I was on the USS San Diego, a sister ship of the USS Concord.

70 is the new 40. Old is 102.

That also makes 40 the old 70! :D
