  1. Most M&G's are held in the Captains Corner of the Crows Nest, Port side, very comfortable and quiet.

Yes, that's for the official meet and greet. we are looking for a place to meet as soon as we board for a drink or two or ...........

    Thanks!

  2. My 10 year old DD has Celiac. We will be on the Independence in Februray ( we have been away from RCCL for 5 years, we have sailed NCL the last 5). NCL was fantastic with the gluten free dining for her. I'm hoping RCCL will be just as good. Now my question is what did people do for lunch on embarkation day? The buffet is NOT an option for her as it is way to risky for her (3 years later we are still trying to get her numbers down, she was at 36 2 weeks ago, still better than her start of greater than 160)

I think I heard that Giovanni's table is open on embarkation day for lunch? This will be one thing I will miss about NCL, the main dining room was open for lunch on embarkation day.

Take a look at #6 posting. Go down to the blog they spoke of on the freedom.

  3. I am still waiting on my blood tests to confirm my diagnoses but I've had issues for years and since going on a GF diet 90% of my symptoms are gone. Trouble is I love bread. I too as someone suggested is to bring along my own GF bread to dinners. Fortunately I do not have Celiac Disease but a lower than normal tolerance for gluten it seems, so if they (or I) eat something with gluten it won't be the end of the world.

    Thanks everyone for your reply's:)

  4. What options if any does RCCL offer in the way of gluten free meals, breads etc.

Have recently been put on a gluten free diet and going on FOS the end of the month.

I hate to go without that delicious breads they serve at MDR at dinnertime. :(

  5. I don't care either way, but you're silly if you think they're not using all the info for tracking and marketing purposes. They know your habits, and are able to use that to sell you more. Sure, it may make things more convenient for you, but trust me, with that spend, it's benefiting them dollar-wise as well. It's amazing what technology will let you do, and where it will go in the future.

Amazing how in once respect people are demanding privacy and then something like this comes along and everyone is ready to give it away.

  6. Now Disney has their own NSA? They will track your every step. How many times you enter the bathroom, what parts of the park you go to the most (or least) Too intrusive for me, sorry. Reminds me of us someday having an RFID implanted in our bodies for who knows what or 666 stamped on our foreheads. Sorry but that just not the way to go for me.

  7. It all comes down to what type of personalities and the experience you both would like on your honeymoon. Carnival is known for it's partying and younger crowd and RCCL is known for it's attention to WOW you with special attention to your needs, especially in the MDR where you have the same waiters spoiling you each night (we love that most of all) You will find older passengers but many younger ones with kids, & families also. We find it's a very nice mix of people without too many of one generation. The decision has to be yours.

Just make sure you get a nice cabin since you will most likely be spending most of your time their (LOL):D:D

  8. We stayed at the blue Horizon Hotel in Vancouver and loved it. Ask for a high room looking north for a great view. The way it is designed, every room is a corner room. Very large rooms also.

ALso look into the Hop-on Hop-Off trolley to get around. Worked great for us.

JUst talking about it makes me want to go there again.

Check out our photos on the link below.

  9. I will agree with everyone. We have only sailed two Radiance Class ( Brilliance & Radiance ) & 1 Freedom class, the Liberty. We have had beautiful cruises on everyone we have sailed but the Radiance Class provides us with plenty of elegance. The Liberty was a beaugiful ship, crew, entertainment, were excellant but DH & I felt closed in with the Royal Promenade.

We have cruised on 7 different ships so far and the first one, the Radiance is still our favorite.:)

  10. If I get the soda package then once on board realize I want one of the alcohol packages. Will give me credit for what I paid for the soda package or will just additionally charge me for the alcohol package?

Not sure but I was surprised while on my last cruise I was waiting at the customer service counter a man asked after he purchased the wine package with I believe he said 7 bottles. He was asking that since he only drank 5 bottles could he cancel the package and just pay for the 5 he drank. This was on the 5th day of a 7 day cruise and the man at the counter said it was fine.

  11. So after the captain's Q&A I decided to just walk around and ran across this in the photo shop.

They are now selling all the old photo's from previous cruises. I asked what the prices was just so I could report it back, but everyone was clueless.

They just try to get a dollar anyway they can!

Are you saying that they are offering to sell photos of unknown peoples cruises to strangers???

  12. It's free for breakfast only.

We went to Johnny Rockets for lunch one day. Call me crazy, but it was the most enjoyable meal I had during the cruise. Don't get me wrong the food in the restaurants was great but something about have that bacon (thick cut applewood smoked)cheeseburger with the bacon cheese fries and onion rings that just hit the spot. Oh and the chocolate malt too!

You can't get any more American than that!! :D:D:D

  13. I decided to go with deck 12 and appreciate all of the feedback I received that helped me make my decision. I've had nothing but an aft balcony for a long time when cruising because I love seeing the wake. Having the secret balcony close by gives me a sense of comfort in case I'm not as fond of the Boardwalk view as I hope I'll be.

Have a great cruise. If you love watching the wake of the ship (and being alone), you will definitely love the secret balcony. Bring a good book for those times.
