  1. Last June on the Liberty we attended an event called "The Quest" It was hilarious and probably one of the best things we have ever been to on a ship. Everyone at a table was a team and the cruise director called for all kinds of things for people to bring up to the stage and changing clothes with your teammate, etc. I am wondering if anyone has seen this on other ships? Do they do it on certain ships or maybe on every cruise? I've cruised Carnival 13 times, but that was the only time i've seen that game. I would love for it to be on other ships!

  2. Where did you read that the Vista will be doing cruises out of New York? I just got off the Miracle and future cruise guy said there has been no release on were she will be sailing in the US. He will be on the Vista for its first sailings?

That's what the Carnival release said.

  3. Scenario 1

I have had a thought(uh oh scary I know). I think it would make sense for Carnival to make a change in some homeports for ships. After the Vista runs it's handful of cruises out of New York City she will most likely be headed to Miami. When she does that, what makes sense to me is for the Vista to basically take over the Breeze's iteneraries and then for the Breeze to head to Galveston to swap places with the Magic. The Magic has been in Galveston since coming over from Europe and for the growing cruise market in Galveston(evidence with Carnival sending a third ship...Freedom there) it would make a lot of sense in my mind for Galveston to get the Breeze and the folks in Miami would also have a fresh ship in the Magic.

What are everyone's thoughts on this?

  4. Hi all! This will be our third cruise. Sailed the Breeze last year and loved it! Way back when we sailed the Elation and loved that as well.

It looks like either the Sunshine or the Freedom are our best choices this year or repeat the Breeze.

    Thoughts? Pros? Cons? Opinons?

I'd really appreciate hearing from anyone.

Freedoms a good ship, but I'd choose the Sunshine hands down!

  5. We are trying to begin planning for next year's cruise. All the options go to same ports: Cozumel, Jamacia, & Grand Cayman. Our ship options are:

    CCL Dream

    CCL Freedom

    RCL Naviator of the Seas

I would love to get thoughts and opinions of all three. We have decided on cabin type so that is not an issue. According to the rates as of right now they all seem to be within our budget & range. We have sailed CCL twice, Princess once, but never RCL.

    Any advice is greatly appreciated!

    Dream for sure!

  6. We know someone who got the "free offer" but they currently have an ill family member. They want to book (and can really enjoy the financial freedom from paying full price for a much needed cruise) but can they get the Vacation Protection for it "IF" they need to head home early from the cruise, even though they only paid the taxes and fees.

I thought it was a good question and wondered if anyone did this for their free cruise? What if they need to cancel the free cruise prior to sail date and have PPV...can they re-book another free cruise in the future?

Just thought I would throw it out there. Thanks!!

I booked a cruise for a couple that received the "free cruise" and they purchased the VPP. Apparently with the free cruise offer, if you decide to cancel the cruise after the final payment date, you would actually be charged the full cruise fare and be responsible for paying the regular fun saver fare.

  7. There is really no real way to search for it. No one actually knows until Carnival officially releases it. The only way to see what ships have been "repositioned" would be to go to the Carnival website and search for months far in advance and see what ships are where.

  8. I am ready to book our first cruise our boys (ages 7 and 8) on the Breeze for Feb 2015 but cannot choose between Eastern or Western Caribbean. Ports for Eastern are Ocho Rios, Jamaica, Grand Turk and Nassau. Western is Ocho Rios, Grand Cayman and Cozumel. Hubby and I honeymooned in the western 10 years ago and went to Dunn's River Falls and Stingray City for excursions. I feel it would be fun to do the eastern side now.

The only plan for sure we want to do is a dolphin encounter/swim. I have considered Atlantis as well but the prices are pretty high (especially if we want to do Atlantis Aquaventure and swim with dolphin). I have looked at all ports that offer a dolphin experience as well.

I would love any feedback/thoughts on Eastern or Western, port ideas (I have read tons of information already in books and on this site and if I could choose I would do it all) and the best place to experience a dolphin swim.

I know this is of no help, but i'll say it anyways.....Go with either one! You'll have fun on either itinerary, so I might just choose witch one is the cheapest!

  9. Happy Sunday, fellow CC'ers:D:D:D

We are finally doing our dream itinerary on the Breeze, in July.

But, MAN, I am STRUGGLING with what to do.

We are travelling with our friends, so there will be (4) in their mid-forties, and then our DD's, who are 15.

We just like NICE beaches, with chairs, umbrellas, snacks, and drinks.

    We are easy to please.....:D

And we also like to do the normal souvenier shops, ie; t-shirt, magnets, keychains, etc.

Grand Turk, no problem. Margartiaville/Jack's Shack

    Dominican- NO CLUE!!!!!

Curacao (weird hours) 2-11 Would like to do some beach time and then freshen up on the ship, and head back out for drinks, overlooking the ship all lit up at night.

Aruba-Sounds like Palm Beach is the "FUN" beach, but WHERE?

Any suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated.

    Thank you, ALL!!!!!!

In Dominican check out Seavis Tours. We had a great time there and one of the most memorable times. In Curacao we did Irie tours. It was really cheap and we had a great time.
