One of our favorites! And yes its heavy. Have not seen them on any of our ships.. We will bring it on our next cruise as we do not have to fly to our Port.

Can someone just make a sticky on this topic already? There must be at least two new questions about shareholder and military OBC every day or two.
Whats a sticky?
I thought this was a great question and havent been able to see an answer until now.. Thanks so much!

I saw this on the Princess website, but can't tell if it's offered yet. I LOVE stargazing!! Wondering if there might be a guide, a telescope, and what exactly is offered.
Great Question! I have been looking to do this as well.. I cannot for the life of me figure out which cruises offer this..

I will not be posting live but will pop in occasionally with any info I think might be helpful.
There is no charge for room service.
There is no Curtis Stone menu.
There is salmon in the MDR at Embarcation.
There are several times offered for the UBD. 6, 6:30, 7, 7:30 and 8 pm. We have chosen 7:30 as we leave Puerto Vallarta. Thanks Keith!
Here is a photo leaving San Francisco. It's a first for us leaving at night. It was glorious.
Cheers, Denise

Having cruised only once on Princess almost 10 years ago, I am curious to know how Princess stacks up against NCL and RCI. I still look back on that one Princess cruise as THE BEST FOOD I have ever had on any ship while the service was 10 out of 10.
We are diamond on RCI and have decided to branch out a bit for several reasons. Apart from the same menus and same shows that tend to get tiring after a while, we've found that RCI's value for the dollar has dropped noticeably over the last several years. Drink prices are way up, food in the MDR is noticeably lower in standard and even in the specialty restaurants you see the difference. Prices up, choices down. Also, service seems to be struggling as well as it appears they are cutting back everywhere making people work harder. So this year we decided to try NCL for a third time and we've generally been happy with NCL. Having said that, I see many of the same arguments on NCL that I do on RCI and so I'm left wondering. We have the Regal and Royal Princess booked over the next year - where has the service, quality and prices gone on Princess over the last 7 or 8 years? We got what I think was a very good price on both of these cruises and the ships look beautiful from what I've seen but I am curious if the same arguments and complaints exist here as they do on NCL and RCI.
Funny this came up, we are pretty loyal to Princess, rarely do we do other ships, we just love Princess.. Last June we did a family reunion on NCL Getaway. We wanted a change and thought the younger ones would like it more for some reason. I was excited to drift away from Princess this one time and see what NCL was like.. No disrespect at all to NCL, but we will be staying with our beloved Princess!! Everything is better on Princess in our opinion. :)

Hi everyone..
Just wanted to share a little info.. We are on AMA Prima.. We cannot get to Vienna. They are now bussing us with all our luggage to Vienna to board the AMA Verde... The water level is very low.. Looking ahead though, they seem to think we can now get to Germany.: yay.. A little inconvenient, but it is what it is & we are making the very best of a beautiful trip..

Hello MalibooNewYork,
I am surprised that there is no German Christmas market in New York yet! We Germans have exported them to the UK already. Must work on the US-coast promptly to get some established. :D
But seriously Christmas markets are not a new invention, the oldest ones in Germany date back several hundred years. There might be a bit of kitsch and non-German-made stuff around these days but the traditional Christmas markets still sell the old things made to traditional recipes and the handicraft that has not changed for a hundred years.
So, a fantastic experience, and I also recommend like previous posters you have a look at youtube videos.
Christmas markets are still more common in Germany than in any other country, a river cruise that goes through Germany or at least Austria is your best bet. Although Paris is great all year round and they have a Christmas market there, too.
The regions of Alsace and Lorraine in France have traditional Christmas markets, Alsace i.e. Strassbourg is on the popular route Basel - Amsterdam, but Lorraine you can normally not enjoy on a river cruise itinerary.
I personally love Metz in Lorraine and the small markets on the Rhine and Moselle.
One downside is the sometimes abysmal weather involving rain, rain, rain, wind, sleet and snow dirty from car tyres. Cold fingers, too. :( But seeing the Christmas markets is worth it.

When do the Markets start? We will be in Paris for our Anniversary in the beginning of November for a few days and off to do a River Cruise on the Danube from Budapest to Germany.. Im so hoping and praying we will get to see and experience these markets. They sound amazing! & just my cup of tea!!

Stupid question here.. If you bring say 2 bottles on and get to the table to pay the corkage fee. Do they actually open the bottles? Should we be prepared for that? Only because I don't want my champagne opened yet. ;) Or that we should bring on a little wine opener?
Thank You!

Has anyone ever taken advantage of the Cruise/land AND air package? Is it worth looking into? Or should we just get our own flights? Thanks!

Nothing like a lie thrown in the mix.
That's what I'm saying... :D

Feel like I am watching a soap opera.. Tell us more! :o
also? why doesnt crew tell the truth when you call to front desk? I called front desk once because we were 3 hours late leaving and they lied. (I already knew why).. Whats the point of lying I wonder? Unless the front desk really doesnt know whats happening, so they make stuff up? lol
Getting adult kids to go on a cruise
in Carnival Cruise Lines

We have 5 kids age range 18-27. We love going and sometimes even paying for them to travel with us. Has nothing to do with apron strings. Its very fun to have our kids with us on some vacations.. In all honesty though, they did not want to go on a cruise either. It took some persuading indeed.. They loved it so much and met so many great people they still keep in touch with. They keep asking when we are planning our next one! ;)
