We saw Educating Rita last year on the Spirit.
We are on the Majesty from 30th October, do you know if the entertainment team will be changing for this cruise or the next one? Thanks

Hi Steve, we came off the Ventura last week and were allocated Freedom dining. You will have a card in your cabin telling you which of the 2 freedom dining restaurants you are allocated to. It will be either Saffron or Cinnamon. Both are waiter service. After 3 days you are able to use either.
As well as your allocated waiter restaurant you are able to use the buffet. The pay for restaurants you have to book .

We have just come back from Barbados on Sunday after being on the Ventura. We went to the Boatyard which was only about a ten minute drive by taxi. The sand and sea were lovely. There was a boat coming up to the beach to take people out to the turtles. The bar there also had a sign up saying free visits to the turtles, not sure how that worked though as we didn't do it.

Why are people falling ill on the Ventura at present? Going on her next week!

Has anyone been following the lady and her friend in Barbados who were taken off a P & O ship 3 weeks ago due to a medical problem? On Facebook.

Just had a look at our cruise personaliser and the trip to Bequia on 16th February is sold out. £82 seems a lot of money for the trip.

How do you organise a Meet and Mingle please, as I can't find P & O on the M and M forum. Thanks

Cruisin Linda, I have been on the Celebration and Spirit. This April we spent 2 weeks on the Ventura in a balcony cabin. Benefits of the Thomson ships are the crew, who we found to be so much more friendlier, including cabin staff, waiters and bar staff.
We preferred the Ventura as a whole though, there was more space to spread out on the decks and we loved the Headliners shows.
Looking to book the Caribbean in Jan/Feb and will be booking either the Azura or Ventura. So much cheaper for a balcony than Thomson.

I sailed on the Celebration last year and had a great time. Thought the entertainment and food were very good. This April we went for 2 weeks on the Ventura and equally enjoyed it. The food was probably better. Really enjoyed the Headliners shows on the Ventura and thought they were of a very high standard.
We had a balcony room on the Ventura and if sailing to the Caribbean would sail on the Ventura rather than a Thomson ship.
Crew and bar staff/waiters definitely friendlier on Celebration/spirit though. More aloof on Ventura.

Thank you Sheila49, sounds better than the journey to catch the Celebration in Marmaris last year.
-
Thank you Linda. Still undecided about this as late flight back from Corfu at 2200 so a lot of hanging around coming home. Only a few cabins left so will have to decide soon!
-
The Atlantica Golden Beach was lovely and adults only.
-
Thinking of booking the Majesty for Friday as a late booking. Does anyone know how long it takes from Corfu airport to the ship as the only flight left from Manchester gets to Corfu at 2050. Thanks

In Larnaca last year on the Celebration and you can either get the ship's shuttle bus or a local bus to the beach which is only about a 5 minute drive. Sea was lovely and warm in September.

The Eastern Venture is such a good price from London. £478 for 9 nights, wish we lived closer.

I am appalled by the photo of the man in the mankini on the P&O facebook page, this kind of behaviour is more suited to Thomas Cook or Ocean Village cruises and should NEVER be seen on a P&O ship. I hope they ban him for life, I'm so angry.
This has to be a wind-up!

If we are talking about the guy from Hampshire then my wife has been following his postings and has been most amused by them.
Seems like he has got quite a good sense of humour and I look forward to being on the same cruise as him sometime.
I quite agree. Some people take things too seriously. I have looked forward to seeing his photos and reading about his time on the ship.

has anyone seen this on the po facebook site how degrading and on deck as well and children look at this site
Oh my goodness, lighten up!! He's having a bit of fun! His posts are enjoyed by most people with a sense of humour.

Sailed on the Ventura in April/May for 2 weeks and thought the ship was great but the bar staff and waiters let it down. After being on the Thomson Celebration last year the difference was very noticeable.
Just back off a short cruise on the Thomson Spirit and all staff were brilliant and the waiters and bar staff so much better than on the Ventura.
The ships are very dated compared to P & O but the staff more than make up for this. Move the staff from Thomson to P & O and things would be perfect!
Have to say though that the theatre shows so much better on the Ventura than the Spirit.

Thank you very much Kruzseeka. Looking forward to this short break, just hope the seas aren't too rough!!
Was on the Celebration last year and loved it, but have just been on the Ventura so will probably feel the Spirit is very small!

Hi
We're going on the Spirit on Saturday on the Highland Fling. Can anyone tell me if there is a laundry with irons to use and which deck they are on?
Also are there hair-dryers in the cabins and what plug adaptors do we need?
Thank you

Hi 028Snowball
Have replied on your other thread about the pools. It was only a couple of pounds to the beach as it was only a few minutes away by the shuttle bus. can't remember the exact price, the children might go free.
-
We did this cruise last September on the Celebration. There is a good beach with plenty of sunbeds at Larnaca. Sea was lovely and warm. Thomson had a shuttle bus going there, didn't take long. Stayed on the ship at Ashdod, not a pretty port! Rhodes town is lovely and the ship docks right there!

There is no actual dedicated childrens pool. There are 2 pools, one for adults only and one for adults/children. The pool is open with no surround and is deep!! It is where the outside eating area is and gets very crowded.

I'm on this cruise and am unable to book any excursions through "my Thomson" as there is nowhere to click to book. Wanted to book the trip to Sorrento.
